I had one of those in the late 1960s. You have just accomplished the best test possible with factory ammo. You have 2 unanticipated take aways:
Shooting JFK with that type rifle never happened. You couldn’t make a headshot with that rifle if the target was sitting still.
That cartridge never removed the front of JFK’s head and blew his brain into his lap.
Oswald was a duped red herring, a ruse to get peoples attention.
Who ever killed JFK got away with it.

The way his head flew backwards always seemed weird to me. There is factory ammo that can shoot better, but its rare and expensive (and i don’t think it existed in the 60s, he used a weird Western load i believe). Im sure the gun could be made more accurate with careful handloads.

@@WastelandArmorer I’m off topic with the JFK murder. But your testing corroborates the findings of others, as well as attempted solutions to inaccuracy using better ammo. It touches a nerve with me because I had one of the rifles. I was watching the motorcade and saw what happened. Later in life I became a sniper. Bottom line, given the quality of the rifle, its gross inaccuracy, and the devastating wound, there was another shooter.
