Inauguração do novo aeroporto internacional Dr António Agostinho Neto
O novo Aeroporto Internacional de Luanda, batizado Dr. António Agostinho Neto, foi inaugurado em 10 de novembro pelo Presidente da República de Angola. Com um investimento estatal de 2,8 bilhões de dólares, o aeroporto será gerido por uma entidade privada.
O presidente angolano salientou que o governo entende que essa grande infraestrutura não deve ser gerida pelo Estado. Um operador aeroportuário provisório foi nomeado para gerir inicialmente o aeroporto, e o governo planeja abrir um concurso público para selecionar um operador privado definitivo. A meta é que a gestão seja transferida para o operador privado o mais breve possível.
O aeroporto internacional de Luanda foi inaugurado com uma capacidade para 15 milhões de passageiros por ano e possui infraestruturas modernas, incluindo duas pistas duplas, 31 pontes de embarque, estacionamento para 1.650 veículos e acesso ferroviário.
O presidente angolano também anunciou que estão em estudo a construção de um novo terminal e uma nova pista para aumentar a capacidade do aeroporto. Isso, no entanto, não tem data para ocorrer.

I don't understand the fundamental role of the Ministry of Transport in Angola. Is it just about controlling the mobility of the country's airports and ports?
Please, we, the population, especially here in Luanda, ask that you look at the transport situation.
What I see at taxi or bus stops brings tears to the corner of my eye. I see a mother with a child struggling to climb into the door of a Toyota HiAce almost as another passenger squeezes the dream baby, all because of the difficulty of taxis in the city of Luanda. Regulatory agents just mix it up at stops and there is no inspector to prevent bad practice by taxi drivers on short lines. The crowd is all drugged up determining the price and the line that taxi drivers should take and no one says anything. It's a lot of suffering at stops where even trucks now take taxis.
I see students who have a lot of difficulty getting a taxi to go to school, not to mention workers who pay IRT and suffer humiliation at stops just to get a taxi.
There is no plan on this. The people feel abandoned even though they pay their taxes to have a dignified life in their own land. How long will this suffering from the lack of taxis at stops continue? We are being greatly humiliated by taxi drivers and drug addicts.
Gentlemen above, please look at this problem! They worry about solving the basics first and only then can they move on with other projects. Taking a taxi from Luanda stops is a huge struggle.
The saddest thing is that television will not report on this situation. They never show this reality. We ask earnestly.
