Other than the fact the Reolink Go PT can pan from the app on your phone, what's the difference between the Riolink Go and the Go PT? Is the panning feature really the only difference?
Thanks for watching! I believe the lens, sensor, etc are the same on both models. I can’t tell the difference in footage or function between the two. The GO PT has a built in battery while the GO has a removable battery. The GO PT does have the option to do a time lapse video while the GO has no time lapse option. The PT has the external antenna and from my experience gets slightly better reception. Those are the differences I can think of...👍

Great product, and review. Trying to think of applications for me to use it, I'd be scared to pit that up on public land tho. Course where I live, I do need a security camera.
First of all, great videos on this camera, not just this one, but all of them! I've been looking for a good cellular trail camera for my farm in illinois and I live in NC. I'm going to buy this one and try it. I have one question though, will it take just pictures instead of videos? That would save on a lot of data as I get about 2500 pics on each camera on the farm! Thanks again!
Thanks for watching and the encouragement! The Reolink’s take video. The only option for pictures is when you’re watching the live feed you can take a photo at anytime but all other times it’s video. I average a few hundred videos a month which is usually less than half my data max of 1GB 👍
I purchased a Reolink Go PT after watching this video and others, it looked like the perfect camera. I followed all the instructions only to receive an error message. It will not connect to T-Mobile's network. I contacted Reolink about the issue after a few tests they had me send it back. Today the new camera arrived in great working order. V.ery cool camera

Thank you for the info! I really appreciate the info as well as the option of using a free data plan - my thanks to to the commentator who suggested it!👍
Ah ha! I remember when you put these things up. No surprise there. My dad always said "son, nothing worth having in life is free". If someone tells you they'll give you something for free, there's always a catch. .99c ain't too bad to activate them though. Not sure what you'd pay for that much data on other plans. I've never actually done the math to see how much I'm paying per MB of data.
I am wondering about using these in a calving barn to remotely check my cows calving to see if I need to go assist any. With the cows always in the barn and moving, the motion sensor would be continuously activated but I do not need or want any recorded video. Can I just shut it off remotely and turn it on only when I want to actually check the cows and then shut it back off? Trying to figure out if this camera will work in this scenario. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Yes! You can do exactly as you described. You can have the pir sensor turned off (won’t record videos) and simply use the app to look at the liveview whenever you like. You can alway look around the pen with the pan and tilt. The good news is you won’t use much battery when using it this way. Even without the solar panel, the batteries will probably last a month or two if it doesn’t have to record 👍
What happens if I lose my phone or have it stolen? Can I watch videos on my pc (getting old) or my son's pc via website or app? Another question: can I share my account with my son in case I lose my phone and then he can still get alerts and other functioning services via his cell phone? I was hoping that Reolink Go PT operated similar to an older model trail cam in which you would only want something to record motion on your property and review at a later time when you remove the sd card and insert into your pc/laptop with NO wifi, app, or cellular service plan (or phone) needed.
Thanks for watching. The Go PT does record videos onto an sd card much like a standard trail camera. You can pull the sd card at anytime access the videos if you prefer not to view them via the app (and your phone). You can share the camera with other users so your sim would be able to receive the alerts when the cameras has action. He would also be able to view the videos via his phone 👍
So I read the freedom pop website. Be careful. If you go over you get charged and they won't close your account. They keep charging you until you pay it all off and then you can de activate. So..🧐
I have been considering buying a Reolink GO PT but, since we live in northeastern Wisconsin, was concerned with the minimum +14 deg. F operating temperature range shown on the Reolink web site. I see by your video you have snow on the ground and are wearing a nice warm winter jacket. What have you experienced as far as operation in cold weather? And how could does it get in your area?
Thanks for watching. We get cold but not as cold as you I’m sure. Last winter we had a few night below zero (-3° F). The cams held up fine but I don’t know how they’d work in even colder conditions?
Honestly..... The most miserable surveillance camera I ever owned.... 😐.... Paid about 200 for the camera and a 130 💵 for the simcard....it is miserable and slow.... Most of the time I just give up trying to retrieve the video allerts.....it just don't connect most of the time.... 😖
I would suggest lowering the ‘fluent’ video quality to its lowest setting along with the bitrate. This can help tremendously with video playback (plus uses less data which is a win win) 👍
Do I have to buy a freedom pop card for each individual camera or does one freedom pop card work on more than one camera , Data amount to be used the same weather 1 camera or 4 or do I need each individual camera need it's own Data card to make camera work thankyou
You will need a separate SIM card for each camera. The data plan will be for that camera only and not shared among multiple cameras. Freedom Pop changed their service/conditions and I now use Eiotclub for the past several years. The link is in the description
Thanks for watching! You can choose a data carrier that works best in you area (unfortunately it can’t be Verizon). I highly recommend Eiotclub SIM cards (they operate on either ATT or T Mobile towers). You can buy the sim for $5 and try it in your location before prepaying for any additional data 👍
the funny thing is when you said "you can speak through the camara" iwa s going to say in the coments "I have a question and can you put it in a video so can speak throuh the camara?"
Thanks for watching. It will not matter which carrier your phone has, you just need to download the Reolink app. I recommend Eiotclub sim for the cam (I put a link in the description) I have numerous Reolink’s and the Eiotclub sim works great 👍
There are some charts on Reolink’s website that might help. I have never used less than a 32GB card in my Reolink’s. Those cards will hold hundreds of videos (usually average 30 to 40 seconds each)
Greetings from Michigan! I have the Reolink Go PT and my videos are choppy as all get out. I have four bars of signal on the camera and 4 on my phone. It struggles to connect and the videos and audio are super choppy. I’m curious what you did differently because I’m very jealous of your video quality! Lol looks like you have yours mounted in the woods too... I have mine on the side of my barn currently facing an open lot. I have all the settings cranked to the best because I have unlimited data through Verizon. Ive experienced one day where I was able to stream everything clearly. I went back and checked old videos too. Every other time I watch anything it glitches and freezes every second or two. If you have any insight I’d sure appreciate it!
The first thing I’d do is pull the sd card and play the videos on a computer or laptop. This will ensure there isn’t a problem with the actual lens etc. Assuming that playback is smooth, I’d next go to a place where your phone has WiFi and view the videos through the app again. This should take the phone signal out of the equation. My last advice would be to put the playback quality at a much lower setting! I know it won’t be crystal clear but you get the idea of what’s on the video (and you’ll still have that high quality 1080p video stored on the card). No matter how much data you have the cellular signal might struggle to send such high quality videos. I have my playback settings on the lowest possible and have almost no stuttering (although I do from time to time). I then pull the sd card once a month (sometimes once every 2 months) and download the full quality videos. Hope this helps. Here are some more recent videos I got from my GO PT ruclips.net/video/U_19OSfuzak/видео.html (starts at 3:13) 👍
Thanks for the speedy reply I didn’t expect that! I will take my computer up north this weekend and try viewing the videos that way. When I was able to view them clearly that day... they didn’t glitch at all.. so that leads me to believe the videos will be good and it’s something cell related. I almost always view them when connected to my wifi at home so that’s why I’m so confused on the glitching. It’s just hard to believe with 4 bars on both devices it would be this bad. I will try adjusting the settings down and see if that helps. I may end up moving this thing to another location as I believe it’s trying to get a signal from a tower that’s behind the barn it’s mounted on. It seems like my kbps(located next to the signal strength) on the live screen struggles to get up there. Even with four bars on the camera. When it’s up in the 140’s it runs okay. Usually it doesn’t get that high. Anyway thanks again for the quick response and advice! I’ll be checking out some more of your videos!
I’m not sure what’s happening? Double check in the settings (gear icon upper right button in app). In the settings look for ‘camera recording’ make sure that is turned on.
Thanks for watching! I have stayed under the limit. I purposefully placed the free plan camera in an area I didn’t anticipate much action. I closely monitor data usage via the FP app 👍

hi it is mike again i talked to provider is us cellular they told me i need this no to identify the device to see if it will work on trere network she says the no if you can get me one is imei no on the camera they need if you can help me out with mike
The imei number is specific to each camera and I don’t want to share my number for privacy concerns. I highly recommend Eiotclub sim for the camera data. I know it works and they have very competitive rates. (You will need to have att or T Mobile towers in the area). You can have any carrier you’d like on your cell phone (they don’t need to match) 👍
You make a good point. In the several hundred videos I have on RUclips I have never once had a script. Because I hit record and then simply start talking, sometimes my brain doesn’t function correctly 😂🤣😂 I appreciate the feedback 👍
You will need a WiFi model that has the POE (power over Ethernet) option. Reolink has several models that should work. The only thing I’m not sure about is what format the video will need to be for the streaming?
I believe you’re right. I talked with them and it won’t work. I bought the 3 month 1 gb data card and it’s telling me to import some type of number. What part of Pa are you from? I’m in 4E.
The lithium batteries can be effected by cold (like any camera) but I use my Reolink’s 365 days a year. We get below 0° F in winter but not for long periods of time. My cameras continue working 👍
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial Thanks for your reply. 40F is not cold but the camera won't be charging. We have that temperature in France where I live and people have problem with that camera. So below 0F..........
If you buy a pre-paid SIM card for 30 days, would you have to swap out the SIM card after the 30 days, or can you just recharge it? I'm thinking of getting the T-Mobile unlimited 30 day card.
Most prepaid cards allow you to reload more data after it expires but you would have to double check with your specific carrier. I recommend Eiotclub (link is in the description) It’s $5 and comes with 300mb for free to get up and going and to test your cam 👍

Be careful with the freedom pop card free plan. I saw a review on the free plan and it seems that the company would just add upgrade plans without warning and make it hard to get your money back. I don’t have an personal experience with them just relaying what I heard from another RUclipsr. Please let us know if you have the same experience with them.

The GO PT has a built in battery while the GO has a removable battery. The GO PT does have the option to do a time lapse video while the GO has no time lapse option. The PT has the external antenna and from my experience gets slightly better reception. Those are the differences I can think of...👍
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial awesome, thanks for taking the time to answer! Sounds like the Go will fit me better as I will be using it for Pest control jobs which could be inside or outside, so a removable battery would be ideal so I don't have to take the whole camera home to charge!
@@JosephCartertheMinkMan that’s a good point. I enjoy watching your mink (and dogs) work! Being a dairy farmer I can relate to keeping pest under control! 👍
Thanks for great video, made getting my camera up and running very easy. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and for the encouragement! Enjoy your new cam 👍
One camera is $10.00 per month depending on the amount of data. Soooooif you need 4 camera the amount to pay will be $40.00? ? ? simple math, right?
Thanks for watching. Yes you’re right. I updated the description. I now use Eiotclub since FreedomPop changed their plans and services 👍

Great product, and review. Trying to think of applications for me to use it, I'd be scared to pit that up on public land tho. Course where I live, I do need a security camera.

Can you use san disk ultra 128 gb micro sd card with this camera? If not, what card would you recommend?
Thanks for watching. Yes that card should work. Reolink recommends class 10 or higher and up to 256gb
Thanks for the video. I just bought one of these today. Haven't got a data plan yet. But I have Verizon so we'll see. Thanks
Thanks for watching. I appreciate it 👍
Did the verizon sim work for you? I am reading reolink is only compatible with t-mobile
Sorry you had a bad experience. Thanks for sharing your dilemma

Thank you for the info! I really appreciate the info as well as the option of using a free data plan - my thanks to to the commentator who suggested it!👍
Thanks for watching! I updated the links in description. There has been changes to the carriers and the free option is no longer available 🙁
Good advice from your dad!!! Thanks for watching Bill. I appreciate it. Merry Christmas 👍
What about when wind blows and tree leaves and limbs are moving.
Well done, Great informative video, thank for sharing.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it 👍
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial Welcome
When SIM card is full does it record over the oldest recording?
So..🧐
Good information. Please see my update in the description.
How much is the Internet service
Thanks for watching. I now use Eiotclub in all my Reolink’s. Plans start as low as $5 per month
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial thanks
Are you still using these and happy?
I have been considering buying a Reolink GO PT but, since we live in northeastern Wisconsin, was concerned with the minimum +14 deg. F operating temperature range shown on the Reolink web site. I see by your video you have snow on the ground and are wearing a nice warm winter jacket. What have you experienced as far as operation in cold weather? And how could does it get in your area?
Thanks for watching. We get cold but not as cold as you I’m sure. Last winter we had a few night below zero (-3° F). The cams held up fine but I don’t know how they’d work in even colder conditions?
What a cracking video I do hope you have had a very good week and a big big thumbs 👍 from me and marry Christmas to you all
Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas 👍
Are there other SIM cards folks are using? costs?
Honestly..... The most miserable surveillance camera I ever owned.... 😐.... Paid about 200 for the camera and a 130 💵 for the simcard....it is miserable and slow.... Most of the time I just give up trying to retrieve the video allerts.....it just don't connect most of the time.... 😖
I would suggest lowering the ‘fluent’ video quality to its lowest setting along with the bitrate. This can help tremendously with video playback (plus uses less data which is a win win) 👍
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial thanks for the tip 👍 I'll try
Very. Helpful
Thanks for watching 👍
Do I have to buy a freedom pop card for each individual camera or does one freedom pop card work on more than one camera , Data amount to be used the same weather 1 camera or 4 or do I need each individual camera need it's own Data card to make camera work thankyou
You will need a separate SIM card for each camera. The data plan will be for that camera only and not shared among multiple cameras. Freedom Pop changed their service/conditions and I now use Eiotclub for the past several years. The link is in the description
Any recommendations about App, it seems not working very fluent. I need a 100 trying to get connected to it. Anyone else with same issues?
Thanks for watching. Which carrier are you using? Try lowering the quality of the livestream abs see if that helps?
how much do you pay a month for the cellular SIM card?
Nice video! how did you get the camouflage on the go PT ?
Thanks for watching. I ended up taping off the lens and sensors and painted the rest. It has held up well 👍
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial good job! thanks!
Hello, thank you for the video. How to find out if it works in my area
Micro sim or nano sim???
Good question. The GO and the GO PT use different sizes and I forget which is which. I buy the tri-cut cards that include all three sizes
Nice video man!!
Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas 👍
the funny thing is when you said
"you can speak through the camara"
iwa s going to say in the coments
"I have a question and can you put it in a video so can speak throuh the camara?"

whats the model number on the camera
I use straight talk on my phone will these work with that? And what Sim card could I use with that? 🤔 not even sure if straight talk has 1
Thanks for watching. It will not matter which carrier your phone has, you just need to download the Reolink app. I recommend Eiotclub sim for the cam (I put a link in the description) I have numerous Reolink’s and the Eiotclub sim works great 👍
What length of video footage can be stored in a 1 GB memory card if the video is 1080p and 15fps?
There are some charts on Reolink’s website that might help. I have never used less than a 32GB card in my Reolink’s. Those cards will hold hundreds of videos (usually average 30 to 40 seconds each)
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial Considering how many people walk on the sidewalk in front of the garage door that card should be full in less than a day
I bought one and bought a AT&T sim card and it didn't work? How many GB it needa for each month need help?
Thanks for watching. I have switched to Eiotclub SIM cards in all my Reolink’s. It will work well. I use less than 2gb per month
Here are some more recent videos I got from my GO PT
ruclips.net/video/U_19OSfuzak/видео.html (starts at 3:13) 👍
Thanks for the speedy reply I didn’t expect that!
Best video so far that explains how to run a camera without cctv or wifi.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching 👍
So...thanks for your review. What can you tell us about the unit icing and fogging up?
Thanks for watching. My Reolink’s don’t have a problem with the weather. Fog can impede your ability to see fat but the camera continues to function 👍
Well, I must be doing something wrong, the camera notifies me when there is movement, but it doesn't record the event, help
I’m not sure what’s happening? Double check in the settings (gear icon upper right button in app). In the settings look for ‘camera recording’ make sure that is turned on.
If u have deer in constantly it's using allot of data timer would be better don't u think
You talk about usa all the time what about canadian networks
Great cams but they get expensive by the time u get the app and if u want the video to save to the cloud u gotta pay for that
Thanks for watching! You’re right there is expense involved (and the prices keep going up) 🙁
Thank you. We are going to try these. How is the data on the free plan holding up?
Thanks for watching! I have stayed under the limit. I purposefully placed the free plan camera in an area I didn’t anticipate much action. I closely monitor data usage via the FP app 👍
this is awesome, i need a security system for our rv due to the cat converter being stolen from it last month , with the freedom pop 100 % free and the reolink go pt camera and the solar panel would be perfect , excellent, you made my day ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,our rv is near our home, about 4 miles away,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

hi it is mike again i talked to provider is us cellular they told me i need this no to identify the device to see if it will work on trere network she says the no if you can get me one is imei no on the camera they need if you can help me out with mike
Why did you repeat the dialog script multiple times? I thought I hit the loop function.
You make a good point. In the several hundred videos I have on RUclips I have never once had a script. Because I hit record and then simply start talking, sometimes my brain doesn’t function correctly 😂🤣😂 I appreciate the feedback 👍
Question to those using this camera, when you connect the solar panel does the charging light come on?
Yes, an orange/yellow light should come on (but it’s very faint and in bright conditions may be hard to see)
Hi I want to stream my fishpond twenty four 7 what camare do you reccomend
You will need a WiFi model that has the POE (power over Ethernet) option. Reolink has several models that should work. The only thing I’m not sure about is what format the video will need to be for the streaming?
Good job camo ‘ing it
Thank you. I appreciate you watching 👍
Hello love your videos. Will it link to some video monitors?
Thanks for watching! You can view the live feed or recorded videos through the app or a desktop version of the Reolink software 👍
Great video. Has any one been able to add a line from Verizon and just use that SIM card??
Thanks for watching. I don’t believe Verizon will work but hopefully someone will chime in 👍
I believe you’re right. I talked with them and it won’t work. I bought the 3 month 1 gb data card and it’s telling me to import some type of number. What part of Pa are you from? I’m in 4E.
Thanks for the video but is true the camera won't be charging below 40 F ???????
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial Thank you!
just checking on these. Dumb question🥴so you don't need wifi or internet?
No dumb questions. The “GO” series (Go and Go PT) use data to operate. All other Reolink models use WiFi.
Great video and explanation, They are sending us two of the KEEN PT cameras for us to review on our channel, my farm is being hounded by wild hogs right now so will be great to keep an eye on them so i can set up a blind. thanks again 👍
If it is helpful for people, here in Portugal i just added another SIm card to my monthly account, i get 8GB of data per month for 8 Euros.

Can you turn the camera off and on from the mobile app.?
Thanks Bob
Thanks for watching. You can turn the sensor on and off but not the actual camera
Thanks for sharing. Is there any way from the APP to shut off the camera?
You can not turn the camera off but you can turn the PIR sensor off (which can be helpful) 👍
I appreciate the warning. I did give basically the same warning at 17:12 FreedomPop does try hard to “trick” you into upgrades and automatic payments but you can deny all that if you’re careful. Thanks again for watching and for your input 👍
I have 5 cameras for 2 years now and one by one they are not working properly.

Do you know how to find out what your password was when you set up the camera
I’m not aware of anyway to recover that password. You might need to reset the camera and reconnect to the app?
Does the Sim card come with the camera if not where do you buy the Sim card
Thanks for watching. No the sim is not included. I recommend the EIOTCLUB sim. There is a link in the description
I got my PTZ 4G yesterday and ordered my free freedom sim yesterday too
