All good points.... Still an incredible cover though. And thankfully not just a sing-a-long to a lame karaoke playback. YOU'RE SO VAIN is incredibly difficult to play. Carly originally wrote it as a slower paced folk song, and it was her producer Richard Perry and bassist Klaus Voorman who turned it into a ROCK classic. Yes the bass opening is missing here, but that alone is very challening to master as the riff is played in a classical guitar style. Nevertheless, this is one of the only covers of this song worth listening to because it's unique in its own right without losing the song's forceful essence
From one Jonathan to another I thought the same thing .I love them on bass and a fuzzy strat but damn this is my favorite cover from them so far. They really made it their own, and doing that to a Carly song while staying true to the original aint easy.
You're So Vain was a big AM radio hit when I was a kid. I'd heard it a million times over the years but it wasn't until I was in my 40s that I realized it was actually one of my favorite tunes. Oddly I'm not a fan of Carly Simon otherwise. Don't even really like her singing style much. But I could listen to Dea Matrona's version of her best song all day. As always I'm floored by how well such young people actually "get" the songs they're covering. The feel is spot-on, the groove is pristine, the harmonies...well, you know, just watch the video.
It's called talent and hard work . NO Auto Tune here !
So, in addition to being the most beautiful woman on the planet, Molly plays keyboards, sings, plays drums, bass and guitar. Just incredible. I hope these ladies become big stars.
If you look closely you'll see each one is more beautiful than the next one. And overflowing with talent.

Didn’t know she played keyboards too, wow! Saw them live at a festival in the summer and was stunned when they casually swapped instruments between songs. They’re like The Corrs on steroids! A bright future awaits them if there’s any justice and taste left in this world.

Great harmonies. If there is any justice, this band deserves to be huge. Their CD is worth checking out. Clearly raised on 60s/70s music!

WOW...these girls are serious musicians
This is the tip of the iceberg for them. They can rock to Black Sabbath’s Paranoid or the Beatles Eight Days a Week or Crossroads as performed by Cream, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac and Oh Well or Rory Gallagher’s slide guitar on Cradle Rock. Then they strap on the acoustic guitars for Simon and Garfunkel’s Homeward Bound.
That Molly has the voice to become the next Stevie Nicks. Stick at it Ladies. You are very, very talented.
Is there any instrument that Molly doesn’t play? These girls are fantastic musicians. So refreshing to hear great songs with real instruments great vocals & a great vibe. America wants more Dea Montrona!!!!
Ladies you are superb musicians but I'd also like to say you have exquisitely beautiful voices!!! The Irish/Celtic culture produces some amazing musical artist of all genres, from traditional to rock-n-roll. You represent the finest continuation of that immense musical outpouring. I wish more people could see and hear you, you deserve all the success in the world!

I was never a soft rock type of guy growing up Led Zep, Jimi, Cream were more my style but if Carly came on the radio I fell I love all over again.Classy artist and an even classier lady, I always wanted to go to one of her shows, never made it, damn! I want these young ladies to come to the States and set-up in Grand Central, or Martha's Vineyard and play, what do you think, would that be worth a road trip? My brother be well, safe and peace to you and yours.

@@barrymichlowitz1071 I respectfully disagree. Carley Simon's original is, I think, quite perfectly pitched for the early 70's ear (I remember when it was released). These girls do a great job though, no question.

Every now and then you hear a group the first time and it is immediately obvious that not only are they extremely talented , way above the usual level of their peers , but they have clicked together and that should they continue as a group , then nothing can come between them and the rich rewards they rightly deserve. The world is their oyster.

Mollie’s vocals are so amazing on this video. This and Love Me Like a Man are my favorite Mollie vocal covers. Of course Orlaith’s harmonies are great too and the instrumentation by all three is fantastic as well.

There's a je ne sais quoi syncronicity about the vocal harmony between Orlaith and Mollie which strongly reminds me of that between Paul and John, in particular the call and answer of The Beatles standout harmonies. And my comparative is not from You Tube videos, but I was there listening in '62 as excited as everyone else at the time of the original release of their first hit single "Love Me Do" at #17 on Parlophone, that's a hit -in the top 40, before someone erroneously points out "Please Please Me" was their first "hit". It wasn't it was their first #1 of so many to follow. Mamie's drumming fits too, like Ringos did. Two thumbs up to your instrument & performance skills. The grind put into them and performance alongside a self apparent intrinsic natural ability shows.
