I have been browsing and all those models/years are holding value although they do vary by the year. The varying denominator on value with these cars seems to be mileage and previous accidents. But even with high mileage Jailbreaks, Redeye's they were still in the low to high 70s and up.
The problem is he paid a $5,000 markup and if you add interest to that the dealer and the bank basically got any future increase in money he would have got for the car he might break Even after 15 or 20 years. And next he did not have to get a warranty for the letter he could have got comprehensive insurance that even pays for a scratch at the parking lot
