I have a Martin Johnny Cash that are made in the Mexican plant great to see where it was made. I know most American’s would prefer their guitar made in the US however i live in the UK so both countries are imports to us.
does anyone actully know what HPL is made of - don't say high pressure laminate, i know that, but laminated what and how? is it veneers of actual wood, or is it chippings swept up off the floor glued together? i have a OOOX1 and it sounds AMAZING.
Ive purchased 2 Mexican guitars in my Martin buying experience. The DX1 (unamped) iteration and the Road Series DRS1 (also unamped). Are they a bit like the 1968 D35 owned by the guy who plays banjo in our group? Naw!!! But are they great guitars? Yeppers. My pal paid $550.00 for his D35 in 1969. Now 35's are + $3,000.00. I'm no Hedge Fund Mgr so no Hi end Martins for me. It's sour grapes (IMO) to bad mouth Martin making more affordables.
lasher500 that has nothing to do with the guitar. unless you are using coated strings like elixirs or martin life spans they will go dead in a couple weeks of playing.
@@jacobr5627 i used d'addario exclusively for about 35 years until i bought a OOOX1 and tried martin strings, now i use martin and elixir all the time. thing is though it's totally subjective, what i hate someone else might love, what i can't get a note out of, someone else can make sing, and i've had that with a couple of guitars, i couldn't get any sense out of them and someone else picks it up and it's amazing. there is a lot of mythology about guitars, and especially about strings. fun fact: ernie ball invented the idea of gauges. light medium etc.
THE GUY you do realize it's only for certain models, yes? and this helps keep cost down as well, seems Uncle Sam loves to bully companies with higher taxes and more restrictions than ever so many companies have no choice but to move certain operations overseas. I own a Mexican-made Martin and there is ZERO difference between it and an American made one, their quality control still stands.
Still waiting on the tour....
Just bought an x series. It buzzes and the frets are razor sharp.

I've got a Mexican Martin. Lovely guitar but the strings go dead on it in a few weeks. I've never seen that before on an acoustic.

All of Martin's strings are made in Mexico, even the ones on the American-made models.
the strings aren't affected by where the guitar was made, or even what make guitar you have, it's your ears that are at fault here.
