Just bought this model from your website for my niece's 9th birthday. After seeing this though definitely wish I'd got the wine red or hot pink colour instead of the blue. Oh well....sure she'll love it all the same. Also, I reckon Meg would do very well with her own YT channel perhaps aimed at teaching kids and newbies.

I bought one myself while looking for a decent cheap acoustic guitar, I was honestly surprised at how well this guitar sounded for the price, it sounded even better the epiphone dr-100 which was costed more than this guitar

I’d like to see a video on the highest and lowest gauge strings you can possibly use on an Electric and an Acoustic Guitar in Standard Tuning 🎸🤟😎 ☮️

Looks and sounds like a good guitar for the price. I’m looking at buying the Starling in ebony within the next week or two. I’m a total beginner, and I figure/hope that this will be a good addition to my black Fender DG-4.

I don’t think you can get a better guitar for the price. I laid one away today in red. 150 bucks for a cannon was unbeatable

I'm looking at this exact starter pack for myself. Is this good for someone who's 6ft with big hands?

    • @AJHart-eg1ys
      @AJHart-eg1ys Год назад

I'm sure this is late, but I wouldn't buy the pack at all. Epiphone has other, better-built models in the $140-$210 range made with better materials.
I've gotten bundles before. Generally, I think they're kind of ... misleading.
Tuners and picks are cheap. And almost everyone will replace the strap/picks to personalize things a bit, and they'll replace the bag to get one that offers much better protection. Basically, all you really end up saving with the bundle is $6 for that inexpensive tuner.

@@AJHart-eg1ys I've purchased it already. It seems fine but once I'm able to play guitar, I'll purchase something more premium. It was about £150 and so the price wasn't too bad.

@@MrHowardMoon And this is the rub in many areas of life.
It's like athletics. Taking steroids will not make a person a world class sprinter. The slight advantage that they offer only makes a difference if you are already a world class sprinter.
I'm in a similar boat. I'm 51 and want to take up guitar. I will sound pretty shitty on anything I play, including my father's $4K Martin. So I need something built soundly that doesn't cost much, likely used.
Of course, since I don't already play, it's tough to walk in and start strumming chords you don't know, and to also know what sound you're looking for. I do believe that I prefer deep and rich to bright and springy, though. It's a start. :)

Think this looks good but worth to get a solid top guitar for a bit more.

Yes. Epiphone has better options in roughly the same price range. And you'll replace most of the bundle within a year anyway.

I think the "problem" here (if we can really call it that) is that there are a handful of better-built Epiphone models within about $20-$80 of this one that are generally considered very good value buys.
Sure, this one is part of a bundle, but I've found that bundles are kind of worthless. You can get a tuner and picks on the cheap, you'll replace the bag because it's not good enough and you'll replace the strap just for a little bit of personalization.
It would also have been nice if the aesthetic wasn't so clearly screaming "NOT a Hummingbird!" at the buyer. The starling pick guard isn't really that nice in photos I've seen. It looks a little undersized and the flat colors the guitar comes in remind me of what they do with cheap ukuleles like Kala's Dolphin and Shark models.
If the pick guard was nicer and you could get this in some kind of decent-looking burst, it might be worth the $130 asking price. But considering that the same manufacturer does have better offerings at ballpark prices, I'd really probably only pay about $80-$90, max, for this one.
But you do you. If you like it, that's what matters. :)

There's always better guitars for 80 bucks more when we're taking about low budget guitars tho, mainly the Yamaha ones, but we need to choose one , otherwise we'll never get a guitar and it's just a snowball.
I agree with what you said about starter packs, the bag is definitely very very low quality, you could get all of these things for a better price and with more quality.
But the guitar looks awesome tbh and apparently plays good too, where i live this guitar without the starter pack costs 110 bucks brand new, without the pack it definitely got my attention.
