You guys have helped me so much in starting worship with instruments at my church. I really enjoy learning songs and tech from y’all. Thank you for what you do.
Wow you guys are awesome! I just got my helix lt. I was a little overwhelmed because this is my first pedalboard, and it is a lot to learn, and I was getting a little frustrated because I couldnt figure out how to get the sound I want. I've already bought 2 patches from you and when I get home, I'm buying at least 3 more. The sounds you make are absolutely perfect for what I want. Thx for all you do and helping the guys like me that are challenged in getting the sounds they want! God bless and keep it up guys!
What you guys are doing here is a form of worship itself…just bought this patch. Thank you Jesus
Awesome video, this is exactly what I've been looking for! Thanks for your great content!
Thanks! I talked about that at the end of the video - just set your acoustic patch to only output through the 1/4” outs and your electric patch to only use the XLR outs. That’s how I run them.
Thanks so much for video. I bought the helix LT love it. Had no idea how it could work for my acoustic. Love the video and so easy to follow. I bought your pads package and love it. Thanks for your ministry.
I found this video really helpful. Thank you so much for your efforts.
Brilliant using preset frequency dips to simulate the Para DI Notch Filter. Also, the acoustic ambient swell. Tasty!
Great content and products - thank you!
I have a Martin D35 and the LR Baggs iMix, which is roughly the 1st generation Anthem. I love it! On my HX, I also use Mart 45 IRs and I've never been impressed with any of the Piezo IRs. The Soundhole IRs are where it's at IMHO. Mix at about 35% so it doesn't sound too processed. I also send my signal out the FX Loop Send, into a Radial JDI, then to the mixer. I use up an FX Loop block for this, but I don't need a splitter. I use the same cable for acoustic or electric into the HX because my outputs send to different sources: FX Loop 1 to DI, Main Output Mono (or stereo) to electric amps. When I switch presets, all the output splitting is already taken care of.
Great Sounding Patch! definitely worth the two buck and then some. exactly what i'm looking for: a great sounding acoustic guitar DI ala Helix. am also really digging the ambient and swell snaps, good job, Thank You!
Regarding running 2 guitars at once... I have done that with my PodHD500, so I'm sure you can do it with Helix. The cable-switch method just adds too much to do when you're also switching instruments. I use the AUX IN for my acoustic, GUITAR IN for electric. The problem you'll want to address is equalizing the volume level between the two so your sound guy doesn't hate you. Typically, I run one for one half (there's usually a prayer and offering between halves), then switch, so you're not switching so much throughout. Also, don't forget to map your electric patches to GUITAR IN only...there is a setting for multiple inputs, but I've had problems with feedback if I'm not playing the acoustic! Otherwise, you'd have to turn the volume all the way down on your acoustic after playing. Not a big deal if you're used to it, but some people set it and forget it. I've never messed with mapping to different outputs...so thanks for that tip! Also, thanks for your run-through of this patch! My acoustic never sounded quite right out of my Pod; I think I was trying to do too much (Vintage Pre or an amp due to the level difference).
thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!
Great video! Would the pedalboard work as a preamp for an acoustic guitar that has a passive pickup?
Your pronunciation of Piezo is correct. Looking forward to playing with this on my Taylor C414 SL. Thanks!
Andrew Bongardt thanks!
yea dude thanks so much for actually pronouncing it right, that bothers me so much when I hear people say "Pie-zo"
Worship Tutorials can u automatically save a patch from an amp to the helex
Acoustic questions here. I have an AER compact 60/4 TE edition. Just purcahsed the Line 6 hxfx. Trying to figure out the best setup to run the effects. Obviously, no distortions or overdrives will be used. Any advice would be fantastic. i see 3 options, listed below.
1) from guitar, to front amp, then out the helix in my amp’s effects loop.
2) guitar into helix input, helix output into amp main input.
or 3) guitar into helix input, helix output to amp, then amp effects loop send to helix, and helix send2 back into amp return.
Here’s my dilemma with the each.
1) i feel like it is strange to put compression and acoustic impulse responses in the effects loop, however, this would make sense putting delay and reverb here.
2) this is the opposite as i feel good blending my guitar time and IR and compressor front of amp, but then my delay and reverb is here as well.
3) i can split the IR and compressor to the front and then the reverb and delays to be through the effects loop, but that’s 4 cables, which will inevitably lead to tone loss, ground noise, etc.
leaning towards 2 as since i’m not doing any distortions and my amp is so clean, that the normal concerns of muddy sounds from delays and reverb being in the front may not really be a factor in my case.... but i don’t know. What are your thoughts ?
I'm running a Helix LT, still tweaking my acoustic sound. Maybe I'll get Brian's patch. I'm want to use the return as an input so that I can use both electric AND acoustic without any extra (split) pedals to increase portability of my rig. Tested it at home and it works. Does anyone have bad/good experiences with using the return live?
I'm gonna pick up this pack. My question is what about the global settings? Also, do I still go into a DI box?
Pretty excited about this. I am closing to trading my pod go + a guitar for a helix. I have ended up using the WT acoustic preset as my main n the pod go. It looks like I will have a great option if I get the helix
That sounds awesome! Do you have similar patch for a HD500x?
Any tips of running this patch into the Powercab? What speaker settings would you choose?
As far as running multiple guitars… you say you haven't had the best of luck with the AUX IN for acoustic…. are you using a different input, or using an input switch before the Helix? Recently tried running electric into GUITAR and an active pickup bass into various inputs and wanted two distinct outs - did not work so well regardless of output setting/location. Would love to see you do a tutorial on setting up multiple instruments with multiple outs through Helix - Like 2 electrics, 2 acoustics - not in the same patch, just proper routing with at least 2 distinct inputs and two distinct outputs. Thanks!
Your info on the "metallic quack" sound is just what I'm looking for. I do have a question/suggestion about inputs.
On this video at about 11:00 you talk about running two guitars into the Helix by using a splitter. There is a "tip" in the manual about splitting the L and R guitar input and having them be separate with their own individual processing. Here's the quote from the manual.
“If you move a Split > Y block all the way left, set its BalnceA to "L100" and its BalnceB to "R100," you can process the L/MONO and RIGHT inputs independently. In addition, if you route the Mixer block to Path B (Send L/R), vou can process two instruments simultaneouslv, each with its own mono input, stereo processing, and stereo outputs!”
I am buying the Stomp XL because I have a double neck acoustic guitar, Chimaera by Emerald Guitars out of Donegal, Ireland, and I want to be able to switch between necks using one switch and have each neck have their own effects and processing.
Do you have any thoughts, ideas about using this method? '
I appreciate the video and acoustic patch. Also are the IR's available for download?
Thanks, Tim Casey
Hi Brian. I purchased these IRs along with the patch the other day but I can't seem to get mine to sound as rich and full as yours does during the IR demonstrations. Any tips besides simply messing around with EQ? Thanks.
Great video.
Now that the Pod Go has arrived, will this patch work with the Pod Go? If so, which one would I need to purchase?
I am knew to helix! I am wondering, if I get the singer songwriter patch, does it include this acoustic patch? Or are there different sounds with this patch that would benefit me, aside from the singer songwriter patch?
The one battle I occasionally have with my SL is feedback, since we use wedges, cannot turn the mic up too much or it comes out, I guess this is a reminder to buy a hole cover
Will this patch work for the the Pod HD500/HD500X? If not do you guys have a "Acoustic - Line 6 POD HD500 Effects Patch" ?
Are the ambient/swells effects included in the pod go patch?
Would you do a video explaining the difference between the logorithmic setting vs the linear setting on the volume pedal block?
log is scooped to sound consistent according to how we perceive sound, most of the change towards 100% the linear is a straight blend that is consistent from 0-100
Any tips on how to get a good drive sound with acoustic and helix?
can I get the patches for the pod HD500x?
would've been nice to get a close up of the screen to see how you've done it? Cab you buy this preset just to see? I'm learning so keen to see how others have dome stuff. Still a great video
I purchased the acoustic patch for my Pod Go. How do I get the ambient sound? Or can I?
Would this work with a Taylor T5z?
Are you gonna make one for the quad cortex???
How can i buy this patch sir? I’m from Philippines 😅
you mention using multiple guitars and different channels--just wondering why you wouldn't eq for the room thru the helix and have the sound guy zero your channel out on eq. would this be more simple or does it not work very well that way
Good to see you digging the acoustic IRs. And you probably wanna blend two IRs to shape it even more.
Yeah I may need to give that a shot on a Sunday and see how I like it.
Where is the best place in the chain to put the IRs?
Thought you were about to play You and Me by Lifehouse! Ahhahha! 9:46
What about nylon string guitars?
Nice demo; thanks for putting this together! The Baggs Para Acoustic DI "notch" filter has a *continuous* frequency control; the knob just happens to label the frequencies according the fundamentals of GADB. So it can fight feedback at any frequency across that range (98 to 247 Hz). I put "notch" in quotes because it can boost as well as cut; it's just a narrow-band semi-parametric EQ. Also, for those who don't know the Anthem, what you call the "full mic mode" on the Anthem is not just using the mic; some of the Element piezo pickup is still in the mix, esp. on the low end (you hint at this later; just wanted to make sure viewers would be clear on it). (Sorry to go on about this; I'm a Baggs fan!)
Finally, I think it's worth highlighting the benefits of having a looper in the patch, even for those who don't loop. I've been using pickups on my acoustic (and giving workshops on acoustic guitar amplification) for decades, and I still get surprised at how bad I am at dialing in my tone with the guitar in my hand. Acoustic guitars are, well, *acoustic*; when you are playing them, you are hearing the acoustic tone. So if you try to dial in an amplified setting while playing, what *you* hear, next to the guitar, is not what the *audience* will hear, far from the guitar, where they are pretty much only hearing the PA. To deal with this, loop some parts, and dial in your tone *without playing*, so you are hearing what the audience will hear. Even if you don't loop in your performance, this is a great reason for having a looper. -Tom
Does it work for the Pod Go??
Can you run this patch with the POD GO? Particularly the quarter delay and the doted eighth in parallel?
the newer podgo doesnt allow parallel proccesing unfortunately
Can you use for HD500x
Cheers MATE
new to Helix, are all Helix and Helix LT patches interchangeable ?
l
Yup
Can you do a cover of king of my heart? All instruments?
I Zach we’ve done a cover of that song already. Thanks!
Witch pack of the sigma IRs do you guys use for the hillsong/bethel/elevation stuff. I’d like to purchase the right ones 😃
We use the A Typ pack from Live Ready Sound
There so many different types how do you determine which
Please, can you do a patch to POD HD500X? I need one ASAP.
Sorry I don’t have an HD500x anymore
Worship Tutorials Thanks for your answer!
If I understand this correctly, this is not an IR or acoustic simulation. These are presets (or "stomps," "effects," or "pedals") used with an acoustic guitar. Correct? As they stand as presets, they are great and I appreciate the easy to understand explanation!
That being said, does anyone have a recommendation for an acoustic sim patch (i.e. an IR that makes an electric around like an acoustic)?
Correct - this is just effects that will make an acoustic guitar sound better.
We also make acoustic IR’s, but they are also designed for acoustic guitars. That’ll make your direct acoustic sound more like a mic’d acoustic.
For IR’s to make your electric guitar sound like an acoustic guitar, check out 3 Sigma. They have some. In my experience, it never really sounds great doing that, but you can get close.
Y’all should do an acoustic patch for the pod go!
They did! I don’t know if you got it yet or not but it’s really good!
I watched this whole video waiting for some solution to the blat sound (your 'metallic quack'). So glad you put those ir things in there, made it all worth it.
... You should do a video on just that, so people who are googling a solution to the blat sound will find your product easier.
Nevermind... I see you aren't selling the ir things. Thanks for the video though!
We do have acoustic impulse responses on the site. We made this video before we started making the IR’s. Thanks!
@@worshiptutorials Thanks for letting me know!

@@tcasey75 It will work. I do something similar to record guitar and vocals. First block would be a split to B, that's where you'll pan L to A path and R to B path. Then put whatever effects on whatever path. Then the last block would be a combine and just assign a footswitch or snapshot to pan hard L or hard R, so that the output would be isolated to either A or B path, (whichever one you want at the time). Something like that.
If I use Acoustics IRs on a hollow body guitar will sound good?
jair b' theres only one way to find out!
Would you buy the helix specifically for your acoustic?
Also do/ would you ever try running your mic through it?
Thanks for your reviews.
Hey Joel - a Helix for just acoustic would be a pretty big investment when you could cover most of what you need with something like an LR Baggs preamp. Though if you need a few effects plus compression and EQ, it starts to become a more cost effective way to go.
I hate run vocals through it yet but I’m planning to try that soon. An acoustic and vocals patch.
It does seem like a big investment just for acoustic but I’m hoping down the road I can learn more a lead guitar and really just want to play with effects now. 😂
But I’m looking forward to the vocals video.
I purchased this patch and it will not load into my helix. Says the file is wrong. What do I do?
Will Gaines Do you have the drivers and Editor installed?
Why dont you guys make patches for mainstage?? Its such a worship standard
@Common Sense it's a mac only plug in platform. It allows you to use plugins Live with an audio interface. Most people run virtual instruments through it with midi.
Can I apply this wonderful patches with my hx effects?
윤성민 yes you can that’s what I use
+++ very interesting video+++ thanks a lot+++i like+++
Don’t know if it’s been asked, can this patch be used with the stomp as well?
You can’t use Helix patches on HX Stomp, but we have an Acoustic HX Stomp patch at Worship Tutorials 👍🏻
Hey Brian. How would you use the Helix with a multitrack or how do I use Helix with your pads?
Okay... found this for the pads. ruclips.net/video/p9wk0zOWG3Y/видео.html Still curious how I could use multitracks with Helix
Do you mean how would you trigger a multitrack playback with Helix? You'd have to use midi to do that and connect it to a computer or something and use Helix to trigger midi commands inside of software like Ableton Live. It's do-able, but also pretty complicated. Much easier just to have someone press a space bar or something to start the multitrack :).
Is there a Stomp version of this?
There is! Check out the HX Stomp page at Worship Tutorials.
are you going to do an update with this patch using your acoustic IRs?
Thanks purchasing the patch! Our acoustic patches do not include any IR's, since the IR you wouldn't want to use is so specific to the type of guitar you have. That's also the reason why the acoustic IR packs include so many options.
Just curious about revisiting this patch with you IRs because in this video you say you do not like to use IRs, but do you feel different about that statement now that you have IRS of your own and you have a vid about how good they sound. I understand that you sell the IRS but what do you think of you IRS with this patch, do you still NOT like to use IRS with the acoustic
Ah that's a good point - I forgot I said that in this video. I didn't like the IR's I was trying out back then. It's a big reason why I started making my own IR's for acoustic - because I knew how powerful they could be but I had never found any I really liked.
I never play acoustic live without the Worship Tutorials IR's now. Not to say other IR's from other places aren't great - they just didn't click for me personally.
@@worshiptutorials Sounds like an update video is on the way ;) I would like to see what you are doing now, are you using this patch with your IR, which IR are you using live in most cases, are there changes that you have done. thanks for the reply, WT patches are the only patches for the Helix I use as they are, no changes I find are needed.
Thanks! It would be a pretty short video, ha. I use this exact patch with one of our WT IR's (the IR I choose depends on the guitar I'm playing). That's pretty much it - I don't really change the patch in any other way. In fact, I think all the acoustic IR demo videos I've made so far have been this Helix patch with the different IR's loaded in.
this is great, now just to replicate it with my ax8 lol
Ha I’d think it would be pretty easy to do this with the ax8
Is this patch about the same as the acoustic patch on the line 6 pod go?
The Pod Go acoustic patch is a very stripped down version of this one.
Worship Tutorials makes sense because, there are fewer unassigned blocks than on a helix. I’m making the transition from acoustic to electric. Been looking into the helix for a while but it has always been a little pricy for me. When I found out about the pod go I ordered one. I hope it does all I need.
Hey can I ask you a question
You just did 😅
What pedal do you use please? Can the a boss gt10?
Counting on your reply before I purchase a pedal
he has his gear in the description, also its on the screen for most of the video.
but no, its not the gt10. its the helix.
This is a Line 6 Helix. I’ve never used the boss multi effects pedals.
You should show it on computer 👨💻 for we could see how to program
LR Baggs are good acoustic preamps.
I have a Maton, sounds better to me, check Tommy Emannuel, for what sounds you can get.
Line 6 have really hit a home run, with the Helix Family..
This patch can be used with HX Effects? Thanks.
Sorry - Helix and HX Effects patches aren’t compatible. But I do have an HX Effects version of this patch coming soon.
Worship Tutorials any updates on this?
my personal opinion, tone is lost. appears metallic. maybe its the piezo?? best reverb is the FLint. new LR bagg delays are so much cleaner and I feel retain tone better. again my opinion. wish helix made a pedal board specific for acoustic. id buy
Hi, I purchased the acoustic patch but I was expecting there would have been included at least some IR, so I tried to contact you by email, I actually open 2 tickets but I never received an answer since a few days now. Not very professional approach really from your side.
Hello. Sorry for the confusion regarding the IR. Our acoustic patches do not include impulse responses. I apologize if there was text or description somewhere on the product page to suggest IR's would be included - we've tried to make sure that kind of information is very clear.
I've answered your support ticket - it's been barely 48 hours since you emailed us. We try to get to those tickets within a few business days. Sorry for the wait.
Metallic quack... I call it the 'blat attack' sound
More than 1000 bucks, 65 outputs, send and returns AND no second input?
It does have a second input. You can also use the returns as inputs.
Melted turd butter spread over toast
do you need a computer
David Garcia you need a computer to download and add the patch. It’s very simple to do it. You have to make sure you download the helix edit app and the firmware update app which is on line6 website. Once you have that all done you go to his website and the. Buy and download the patch and make sure it’s connected and you just click on a new preset and hit the import button and it takes a split second to do it and update it.
Less close up of YOU, and MORE close up on Helix GUI. Please. God would want it that way.
I think it was just fine. God wants you to get a bigger monitor so you can see it better.
I like it! do you think it will work well on the acoustic switch of a Taylor T5Z?
