- I quickly interviewed Daniel Hall at a recent Public Consultation Session, where he shared information on three exciting new cycling infrastructure projects coming to the City of London... So I used this 1m30s interview as my base layer for this video ;P
I went ahead and did some mapping animations to help showcase these new projects while Dan breaks down the details of each route, including Central Avenue, Cheapside Street, and Colborne Street.
These improvements will make it safer and more efficient for people on bikes, pedestrians, and drivers to get around Canada's 11th-largest city.
Active transportation is a huge priority for London and public input is crucial in making real changes that affect everyday life.
I encourage you to attend public consultation meetings and reach out to your elected municipal councillors to voice your support for bicycle infrastructure whenever you can. And don't forget to write your counsellors, too!

This is wonderful! When I lived in London ON a few years ago I would cycle from Costco to my work near the airport, these Cheapside and Colborne updates will be a big improvement!
Oooof that Costco to Airport route needs improvement, too... But apparently Sarnia Road will be getting its infrastructure done, too so yay!
Nice video Ben, and great city bike planning Dan.
Thanks, Lee! I'm just excited to see London upgrading its infrastructure :)
liked subscribed, more London urbanism content please!
More on its way! Anything in particular that you'd like to see covered?
@@BenDurham Yes! "The Potential of Micro-mobility and UWO". Once the Sarnia and Western intersection is completed, one could speculate on the possibility of the space reserved for a pedestrian bridge eastward down Philip Aziz Dr. With Western's new bridge plans announced, the potential for safe and accessible transit like escooters and bikes around campus year-round is there!
@@iambored456 I LOVE this idea!! I'll start looking into it :)
can never have enough bike lanes :)
Exactly! The more the merrier :)
finally some good news from Ontario for cycling, this province is so hostile to anything not-cars (any one outside a car). the ford brothers(dumb and dumber) ruined and keep ruining all the cities here in GTA. the only hope is to local politician and actual local people to do the actual job and improve the walkabilty and bike-ability of their cities. will they do the right thing? we will see
Cycle lanes utterly useless used occasionally this so called active travel is a load of cobblers on UK due to weather etc. And I'm all for cycling but come on its utter nonesense
UK? when did he talk about the UK?
