The transcription would’ve been SO MUCH easier to both read AND write if you had written it in G major for the B-flat Trumpet because that’s what key it’s actually in 😭
@@clawboss2028 you’re right Cantaloupe Island is in F minor, but Freddie wasn’t really relegating himself to playing in one scale area. I was listening to what he was playing.
It's actually technically correct for Bb instruments. The choice of enharmonics however makes it very unpleasant to read. My guess is, that the transcription was originally done in concert key (F minor) and then just automatically transposed by the notation software for Bb instruments.
@@alexandergibsonde Nope. Concert key of F minor puts it in G minor (2 flats) for Bb instruments. Not technically correct. Software knows how to transpose up a whole step.
very nice job. One thing to consider is adding extra text near notes that are stuff like Half Valve and such. Would make the transcription feel 10 times better
If only it wasn't the wrong key signature. E# is F, G# is A flat etc. In this context. Unnecessarily difficult to read with that blunder in the transcription.good work though to get it down one way or another!
YOH! How about at least 4 measures per line! It's like following an old pacman video game. Break requested! It's like Rope-a-dope Eyeblind instead of Cantaloupe Isle. Thanks otherwise great transcription (chords next time?- thanksomuch)
I understand the harmony but this was first attempt to transcribe trumpet. I know there are some mistakes. I’m a pianist first. Feel free to inform me on what you mean by misunderstanding the harmony?
Great solo! I had the privilege to compose a song for Freddie back in 1974, and hung out and played with him on many occasions. He was a cool dude!
no way!!!
Bar 41 sounds so beautiful and so simple... as well as drums on 16... and 17 kicks you off the planet 🙌🙌 . What a master piece
It's nice when someone recognise and appreciate the same things as yourself
I was thinking the same thing. That phrase shows the power of simplicity
Freddie Hubbard is the reason why I wanted to learn how to play trumpet 😊🎺

Yeah what is this key? Is he not actually playing those notes? It has a DHC written as a "high B#" ? 😂
Yeah it`s a crazy notation for some reason
1:29 it was so difficult he put rest there
😆
It's been fun learning that Freddie Hubbard is more than his years with Blakey.
We are in Gmin. Yet the transcription is full of sharps, including E#s etc.
Ça fait je sais pas combien de fois je l'entends je suis toujours autant tromatisé merci beaucoup d'avoir mis la partition
Excellent. Thank you!
I'm dizzy just reading it.
Why the fuck would you put it in the key of D?? It’s in G minor; putting it in D makes the fast runs practically unreadable...
@@clawboss2028 it’s really just regular G Major blues
@@njmtrumpet not really, sorry.

Is it me or is the key wrong?
Yup it’s wrong.
Wrong key ! It should be G minor for Bb instruments

Great Transcription! Well done mister. Just ignore the negative comments, don't see any of them burning their ears getting this down!
GOOD DAY FRIEND, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT PROGRAM YOU USE TO EDIT THE VIDEOS WITH MUSIC SCORES FIRST OF ALL THANK YOU VERY MUCH EXCELLENT YOUR WORK

Why E# instead of F?
yea that throws some of us trumpet players for a loop but it only can make us better
Any chance of having this in Bb - the trumpet key?!!
What is 4:4?
Wrong key. G- for Bb instruments.

b flat, not a#
Same thing??????
Bobby! You rushed the septlets again!!!

Yeah you got the notes write but I don't think you understand any of the harmony that's going on in this tune.

Stop complaining . It’s a bad habit .whinging whining and moaning . I’m damn sure you’re no expert !
Do tell. Shed your light.
