Like maybe EWW is not actually going awya but IS going on the backburner or something because a lot of the things charri said in this video do feel genuine. Excited for the future either way
I dont want to behave like you owe me or anyone else anything. Personally, i came here originally for the content but i stayed for the person. And now any time you're streaming, even if I'm lurking, i get excited because i mean it when i say you're my favorite steamer. You're insightful, funny, clever and you bring a lot to whatever the discussion is. You're interesting and human and often times vulnerable. On a website full of fake personalities, you feel genuine and real and a breath of fresh air. My only regret is that im unable to financially support in any way, but if i could i would. I really hope whatever happens, you're happy.

Don't care if this is an April fool or not. I just want to say that I loved your "Everything I love about Sonic '06" video. It felt so genuine positive that it managed to be entertaining in its own way which I hadn't seen on the platform at the time, and it's one of my favourite videos on the site. It might fall into the 'EWW' category for you, but I want to give genuine feedback here.
As someone who's been watching since the original Unleashed EWW. (Yes, the original original with the old intro) I've loved a lot of your videos Nahum. The retrospectives with the drawings were some of my favorites, the occasional drawing videos, reviewing the Sonic artbook, the rewrittens, the "everything I love about" series, and of course the Everything Wrong Withs, I can't help but feel proud in an oddly bittersweet emotion. I agree with moving on from EWWs, but I wouldn't be lying if I said they are some of my favorites of the channel. But I'm still gonna support the change nonetheless. Proud of ya for this Nahum!
I wanted to believe that this is an April fools video at first, but the words being said feel foo genuine and have so much emotion behind them that i actually feel for charriii, these kinds of comments cant come out of nowhere, there has to be genuine thoughts behind it Im sorry that things haven't amounted to what you wished or hoped they could've been, ive watched your videos for more than 7 years and throughout all of that you've always been one of my favourite youtubers, becoming my absolute favourite youtuber during the sonic game marathon (which i went out of my way to remember every day) I wish you the best no matter what you choose to do in the future, and know that there are SEVERAL fans who think the same ❤
I came here for the EWW series, but I saw the original content or even a type of EWW that was out of the norm. Examples are the DDLC video, the if Snake was in Smash 4, and recently the Rewritten video. They have been truly inspiring and fun to watch, and I am all up for a change of direction.
I've been a fan for so long and I can say with my full chest, regardless if you stop doing EWW videos or not, I'll still be here to consume them. I may have been pulled in because of them, but from streams, to the rewrittens and everything in-between - I grew to appreciate and enjoy you as you. So in my eyes, you could blow up the moon and I'll still be here cheering from the side-lines.

The EWW's are fine, they're funny videos and I like them for what they are, but it's the REWRITTEN's, the streams, the genuine content you make that I truly love, and that I'd love to see from you more EDIT: Wait when the hell did this comment get this much attention?
Assuming this isn't an April Fool's joke, Hello. I am one of those viewers that doesn't "comment" like you mentioned. And I figured I'd comment for once, to tell you how I feel about this. That is to say, I get it. I really do. Admittedly I fell out of "Everything Wrong With" like content years ago as my tastes in Comedy and Analysis changed over time. However, out of all of said content that I watched, yours is always the one that stuck out the most to me. Now granted part of that was because of the games you covered (Sonic, Kingdom Hearts , Sly Cooper, Batman, etc.). But also, your iterations always felt earnest to me. Even all the way back with the original EWW Shadow the Hedgehog, it felt like you were just some goof who did it for the fun of it. Trying to inject their own comedic spin on it. And it showed, especially with future ones where you yourself did the Voice Acting (Partly why I like the Sonic Rush and Sonic Chronicles ones respectively) and how you handled topics differently (like with EWW Shadow The Hedgehog remake). But I can understand why you feel you need to change or grow out of it. And of course I also understand that the passion isn't there anymore for you. You wanna make something of your own but are also afraid of the unknown. And that is totally respectable. I won't say I won't miss your iteration of EWW as I enjoy them even now (inspite of me falling out of said content) and I would wish you'd still do them as side content as opposed to your main content (though given the editing process of EWW that'd be difficult). But at the end of the day, I come here for YOU and what YOU make. So whatever you choose to make, I'll be there to watch it. I'll try to comment more in the future since the transition will require more transparency from both sides. But as I said, I'll be there to watch it. I tend to forget that for this channel, April Fools tends to be the days when the joke that the video is more about you and your frustrations rather than something like tetris. So it took me a second to process this since this is also the first video I watched after waking up, to put some laughs in me because of the holiday. But it did make me think of how I felt about the content on the channel that I silently tried to support you through. I don't usually comment on videos or tweets because of personal reasons, but anytime a RUclipsr I grew up with has a video like this, I get kind of sad because I think, "Have they not been able to continue being them? Are they forcing themselves to do something because they got bills to pay?" I'll be honest, I don't watch every video you make. And I did join your channel during your early EWW phase when I saw you did games I enjoyed. But I stuck around because I was interested in your other interests like you writing Rewrittens. I remember punching the air when my laptop couldn't handle SoulStar's demo because I genuinely wanted to see you succeed in a dream I had with my own characters and world growing up. I don't always have time to watch a stream or see a premiere. But anytime I would have time, I'm able to see how much you're enjoying yourself. And I want you to keep enjoying yourself as you make more content. And I wish the internet was such a place where people could still do what they wanted without the worry of "If this doesn't do well, I'll have to stop doing this because I put too much work into this. despite me enjoying it." I enjoy this "April Fools" rant because its always something people expect and not expect because of the day and i wanna say a few things to a things he talks about. EWW should feel like a side thing about games YOU wanna write about to the main stuff you wanna push out, i understand that you wanna slide it out of your content because of how much pressure you have on the series. Having youtube as a career is almost always an accident and it surprisingly helped boost to the stuff you wanna do. I felt in a personal level about not feeling connected to communities, placing yourself in one and having something to show that you can belong in it is rough. You asking for permission is a respectful thing and i like it and you should do something like ProZD does, some for you, some for the audience. Charriii5, im here to support you where ever you go because i love your style and your ideas and i wanna see how far you can go and hope Soul Star will be completed the way you saw it before you leave. It’s okay to take a new step in a different direction. I enjoy your EWW series, but I also greatly enjoy your rewrite series too. I love hearing rewrites on games, movies, and books I’ve enjoyed interacting with. Go for it, I’ll watch anything you make! If it’s Soul Star or any other personal projects, I’ll watch it!
I am a writer. As a writer, I truly do understand who you feel, to an extent, when it comes to this. Making the content you produce *yours* and not an imitation of another's does really matter, and I think going forward in this way is, in the end, a good decision. I get how scary it is, it can be a terrifying thing to make this kind of step, but even if you drop a little from this, ultimately, I, along with many others, will stay with you through this new frontier. I respect you a lot, Charriii. You got me into Sonic as a franchise and have really helped me through some rough times. As a creative writer, I know the feeling all too well of what you produce feeling like a chore, and distancing yourself from that is healthy, even if scary. Many people will see this as a joke because of when it was posted. I know, and many others do, that it isn't. Keep moving forward with this decision, Charriii, I believe in you.
A lot of the reason that I enjoy this channel is because of your personality and genuine care for what makes a good story. I feel like that aspect is a part of all of your videos, so I don’t mind the change of style at all, especially if doing so is your own choice that will benefit you. I've been apart of this community from EWW since the beginning when I was just a kid and thought the silly fellow nerd was poking fun but now that everyone is older and has grown the thought of drifting away from it or only doing the EWW's that you would like to do sounds great since at the end of the day I feel like the most of us will love to see. Would like to say that your humor and way of content from streams and from non EWW content, or the running gags and charm of you and this channel is what I come here for and what I love about this community so whatever comes after this I'll love to see it

I have the same issue with my writings nowadays! I now write innocent fan fic ("innocent fan fic" meaning NOTHING DIRTY HAPPENS despite it being a "fan fic"). In the past (when I was in high school), I used to be able to make up my own characters and stories and I would know where I would want to go with those stories! I had a beginning, middle, and end to all of those stories! Now, I don't feel as creative as I used to be. I think that school may have been to blame because maybe I got drilled into my head with "learning" and "useless algebra" information (not trying to imply that algebra is useless in any means) that I will never use in my entire life because "why" would I need to find y in an equation; if I want to do other things such as "creative writing," or "develop video games." Nowadays, I wrote those fan fics to help myself cope, and those fan fics are purely private and fictional! I know that Bakugo from My Hero Academia is a fictional character, BUT (and I can't emphasis this enough); I DID NOT create Katsuki Bakugo because I am not the author of My Hero Academia. But that's the fan fic that I write! I have fictional anime characters teaching me how to smile again when I feel like I've "lost my way." And I miss being able to write my own stories with my own characters with my own plot twists that's not in any way related to my mental wellbeing! I miss just writing (and I mean creatively writing; not writing some fan fic because I'm a hardcore fan myself (number one), and that's my way of coping (number two)). I don't mean to rant for too long in this comment, and I'm fully aware that this is online whereas everyone can read this and will learn something new about me (a random stranger that just subed today). I get the struggle and you have my support (even though we don't really know each other), and that's all that I was meaning to say!

I have certainly seen you grow and evolve in the style you make your videos, up to and including the EWW of course. As fun as those are to watch, I can see where you are coming from saying that it feels more like an obligation than a fun activity. We certainly all have those moments in our lives, and I would imagine that somebody who has succeeded like you can definitely feel like it's extra burdensome. I am glad you took the time to make this video, as too many people out there, myself included when I still made my own content, unexpectedly stop producing content without any real explanation. When I watched your eww for the Sonic arcade games, I had a sense something was wrong given how the video ended with you talking to yourself. You may not have seen my comment, but I remember watching your video for "Sonic Forces rewritten" And I had told you it was your Magnum opus. I still stand by that statement today, and I think that video is absolute proof that you are quite capable of doing whatever you want to put your mind to 😊 Whatever you end up doing with your channel, I look forward to it no matter what you do! Your EWW videos Are always fun to go back to and rewatch, and I quite frequently do just that! I can understand why you would feel like you are bogged down by a feeling of imitating another content creator, but at the same time, you have always had your own twists and spins and originality to it, and I give you props for that! You will always have my support, and you will always be one of the people I actually regularly take time to sit down and watch! Sorry if this post comes off as as one long incoherent ramble that's hard to decipher, but my main point in this is there will always be people behind you, including myself, and you should do whatever works for you, Even if it takes you in a vastly different direction! Change is a scary thing, but it's also an exciting thing as well. Sometimes we may not know how it'll turn out, but that doesn't mean we should be afraid of that. Hey Charriii, I completely understand your decision, and, if anything, I'm glad you want to go forward and work on things you're more passionate about! I love your style of writing and storytelling and the Rewritten videos have always been some of my favorites so I'd be super excited to see more of them (not to pigeon-hold you into those videos either, ofc!) I think you are incredibly skilled at both storytelling but also constructive criticism that doesn't feel like its directly insulting the source material but rather objectively and fairly recognizing the issues with said source material and offering solutions to those issues. I think change is a natural part of life and it's totally fair to admit that this just isn't what you want to do anymore (or maybe even ever), I'd had OCs who I made back in elementary school who i frankly what to compete;y rewrite because of simply how different of a person i am nowadays! I think you going forward and working on things that will make you happy would make me a lot happier than if you continued to do something you weren't excited or passionate about for the sake of pleasing the masses (though I completely understand why, you need to pay your bills and all). Honestly, some of my favorite videos on this channel is the Cream's Toyko Tour one. I don't remember if I wrote a comment on it because frankly I've only recently decided to try to be more vocal in my support since I feel I've been silent for far too long. But that video (and others of yours to be honest - like the newer EWW Shadow the Hedgehog) made me cry. It was just touching to see such a positive video that celebrated culture and history, especially in such a world where negative thoughts can often boggle you down completely. The section of the EWW Shadow the Hedgehog on mental health also made me cry though for different reasons, unfortunately I feel many of us have felt similar ways in the past (I know I have) and it meant a lot to me to see you take it as seriously and respectfully as you did. Speaking of being respectful, as a member of the LBGTQIA+ community it means a lot to me that you always try your hardest to use the correct pronouns for characters (like Barry (or Rice Bingle I suppose hehe) from Tmosth or Mangle from fnaf). It's a small thing but it really does mean a lot to me. So frankly, Charriii, I think the part of your videos I love the most is you, I love the writing and comedy you come up with and how respectful and kind you are!! I'm super excited to watch whatever you plan on doing next and even whatever you may do after that in the years to come! I think I will miss the EWWs since I have been someone who's been watching them for years. In some ways I'm surprised you aren't more well known in the Sonic community since it's your videos that kept me in love with Sonic as a series all these years. I think most Sonic fans have had a time where they fall off of or at least try to pretend they don't like Sonic because of bullying or getting made fun of or what-have-you, and your videos helped me stay engaged and interested in Sonic even during those years I was trying to limit my interest in the series. It was so touching to see videos where the story aspects (even if being lightly made fun of) were being taken seriously. Stay safe and stay awesome!!
Don’t worry about what others think, create what you genuinely like because that’s the reason I subscribed. mostly, because of the enjoyable underrated stuff genuine people make by showing who they are from the original content they make. Besides isn’t that what’s creativity is all about, doing what you like and have enjoyment in the process of what you create.

I will admit I haven’t been here a long time, but it has been an amazing time nonetheless! I would actually argue the rewritten episodes are two of my favorites, it scratches an itch that not a lot of other content exactly can and stuff like that has inspired me to work on my own creative visions. Sonic Forces rewritten especially kind of kickstarted the process of making something a bit more original actually. All to say, thank you Charii5, for being a very entertaining and pretty inspiring dude on this platform

I definitely think that this has been a long time in the making, and a great decision for your channel! I certainly haven't watched you as long as others have, but I have seen enough to kinda see your mixed feelings on the EWWs and how they keep you from doing other things both on and off the channel. Even though EWWs are funny, your rewrites and streams have so much more character! You have so much creativity and I certainly feel like it's a waste of it to focus all of it on the EWWs. I've had to take several breaks from yt, and whenever I come back to your channel I'm always pretty surprised that you're still doing them with the variety of other things you do and how much you dislike them, but I understand that it's what pays the bills. You do whatever you need to do. I'm just a single viewer and I haven't been very vocal in the past, but I do remember the Tetris video and felt something like this would be coming. I really enjoyed the recent non-eww stuff you put out, and would be absolutely be down for more of it.
This was a very good real talk video about moving forward and branching out into new things, it can be scary and you won’t know where it could go but we all must take risks in life. Whatever the future holds I hope I it works out well and you can find another niche that everyone will love.

This is completely understandable. Searching for an path foward in life no matter the topic is hard. Hopefully everything works out in the future. Sometimes change is needed, and while I first found the channel through the EWW's I have stayed here for the other types of videos and getting to know this channel and the person behind it

Will I personally miss the EWW series? Sure, but that's just because I like your takes and jokes and things that make the EWW series appealing to me. However, that being said, I don't say that as a way to say that you "owe" me or "don't owe" me anything because frankly you don't owe anybody anything, but you still provide entertainment, value, and positivity on a level that a lot of creators or influencers today simply cannot say they do. I do like your other projects, and when I say that I consider myself to be a part of this community that will support you as a creator in whatever you choose to do, I mean that. Regardless of what your focus is, Charriii, you've done some incredible work, on all of your projects, be they EWW Gamingsins, Rewritten, etc. On a personal note, you've definitely made some of my hard nights easier and you've really helped me in my own life, and that's not just through your humor, but your awesome personality, which you can channel into whatever you choose to or choose not to do. Like I said at the outset, you are a person who deserves to be able to focus on and pursue whatever it is you like, because grinding at the same thing for years just to do it perpetually for the sake of the fact you feel like you HAVE to is taxing at best. You have immense creative potential, Charriii, and as long as you don't forget that, you'll go far in whatever creative endeavor you choose to pursue. That being said, you are an amazing person, Charriii5, and you have been a lifesaver, a beacon of light and hope for me, and an amazing content creator and source of entertainment for so many like me. Hey chriii5 i totally understand what your saying, ive gave this advice to people, when your not up for doing a youtube content, dont do it because it wont go well, youtube content comes from the youtuber and the youtuber must like what they do. Even if you quit youtube, i will support you, if anyone carrys on doing something they dont like it will end bad. You do what you want. Dont worry about what what we think, in this day an age, we understand more.
You have projects that you wanna do and a life you want to lead. You do have your creative talents and I hope you know that (While it is easier to say but harder to tell yourself) you do good work. I admit, I saw the title and thought this was gonna be a fake retirement announcement, but I'm pleasantly surprised to see something that's just genuine. I loved watching the rewrittens, and you can bet I'll see them even if I haven't seen the original because I love watching the *creative process*, what you're changing, why you're changing it, and how it comes out in the end! It's not like I don't like the EWWs or anything but I know how you feel about it being the channel's main thing, so I'm all for you branching out and doing something you feel more pride in. I understand being afraid to change what you're doing though. I can't really say anything about youtube from experience because I've never uploaded anything, let alone done it for a job. But what I'm trying to say is I think whatever you do you'll make it work. I'm sure there'll be rough patches, but you'll figure something out if/when it comes to that.
I'm not sure if this is an April's Fool joke or not, but if it's not know that how you feel about this is valid. It's rough doing the same thing over and over, especially if you feel like it's not what you wanna keep doing. Maybe trying some other form of content on a different channel (for algorithm reasons) might be a worthwhile attempt. Oh man, that was a lot to take in. But I can understand why this would happen. Making all kinds of different content for certain audiences is hard, since you have to have time to do it, and you need to keep track of all the videos you're planning for the future. Some of the projects on here like the Rewritten videos (which I absolutely enjoy by the way) take days, if not weeks to make since there's tons of research, drawing, etc. So I hope the best for the future to you, and the future of will become of this channel.

Whether or not this was an April fools day prank, the things you talked about were very genuine. Listen dude you are one of my favorite RUclipsrs and you’re pretty much the only guy that streams, I always try to watch it. Sometimes it’s hard to watch a stream because it ends up happening at random times and it’s hard to make the time to watch them, but whenever you stream I always try to make some time to watch, because I love the community you have built and the content you create. I hope nothing but the best for you, regardless of what happens. I understand you have a family now and you have to do things to support them, and sometimes that means not putting this channel at the forefront. I dont want to behave like you owe me or anyone else anything. Personally, i came here originally for the content but i stayed for the person. And now any time you're streaming, even if I'm lurking, i get excited because i mean it when i say you're my favorite steamer. You're insightful, funny, clever and you bring a lot to whatever the discussion is. You're interesting and human and often times vulnerable. On a website full of fake personalities, you feel genuine and real and a breath of fresh air. My only regret is that im unable to financially support in any way, but if i could i would.

As someone who's been watching since the original Unleashed EWW. (Yes, the original original with the old intro) I've loved a lot of your videos Nahum. The retrospectives with the drawings were some of my favorites, the occasional drawing videos, reviewing the Sonic artbook, the rewrittens, the "everything I love about" series, and of course the Everything Wrong Withs, I can't help but feel proud in an oddly bittersweet emotion.
I agree with moving on from EWWs, but I wouldn't be lying if I said they are some of my favorites of the channel. But I'm still gonna support the change nonetheless. Proud of ya for this Nahum!

I came here for the EWW series, but I saw the original content or even a type of EWW that was out of the norm. Examples are the DDLC video, the if Snake was in Smash 4, and recently the Rewritten video. They have been truly inspiring and fun to watch, and I am all up for a change of direction.
I've been a fan for so long and I can say with my full chest, regardless if you stop doing EWW videos or not, I'll still be here to consume them. I may have been pulled in because of them, but from streams, to the rewrittens and everything in-between - I grew to appreciate and enjoy you as you. So in my eyes, you could blow up the moon and I'll still be here cheering from the side-lines.

Hello. I am one of those viewers that doesn't "comment" like you mentioned. And I figured I'd comment for once, to tell you how I feel about this.
That is to say, I get it. I really do.
Admittedly I fell out of "Everything Wrong With" like content years ago as my tastes in Comedy and Analysis changed over time. However, out of all of said content that I watched, yours is always the one that stuck out the most to me.
Now granted part of that was because of the games you covered (Sonic, Kingdom Hearts , Sly Cooper, Batman, etc.). But also, your iterations always felt earnest to me.
Even all the way back with the original EWW Shadow the Hedgehog, it felt like you were just some goof who did it for the fun of it. Trying to inject their own comedic spin on it. And it showed, especially with future ones where you yourself did the Voice Acting (Partly why I like the Sonic Rush and Sonic Chronicles ones respectively) and how you handled topics differently (like with EWW Shadow The Hedgehog remake).
But I can understand why you feel you need to change or grow out of it. And of course I also understand that the passion isn't there anymore for you. You wanna make something of your own but are also afraid of the unknown. And that is totally respectable.
I won't say I won't miss your iteration of EWW as I enjoy them even now (inspite of me falling out of said content) and I would wish you'd still do them as side content as opposed to your main content (though given the editing process of EWW that'd be difficult). But at the end of the day, I come here for YOU and what YOU make. So whatever you choose to make, I'll be there to watch it. I'll try to comment more in the future since the transition will require more transparency from both sides. But as I said, I'll be there to watch it.

I tend to forget that for this channel, April Fools tends to be the days when the joke that the video is more about you and your frustrations rather than something like tetris. So it took me a second to process this since this is also the first video I watched after waking up, to put some laughs in me because of the holiday. But it did make me think of how I felt about the content on the channel that I silently tried to support you through. I don't usually comment on videos or tweets because of personal reasons, but anytime a RUclipsr I grew up with has a video like this, I get kind of sad because I think, "Have they not been able to continue being them? Are they forcing themselves to do something because they got bills to pay?" I'll be honest, I don't watch every video you make. And I did join your channel during your early EWW phase when I saw you did games I enjoyed. But I stuck around because I was interested in your other interests like you writing Rewrittens. I remember punching the air when my laptop couldn't handle SoulStar's demo because I genuinely wanted to see you succeed in a dream I had with my own characters and world growing up. I don't always have time to watch a stream or see a premiere. But anytime I would have time, I'm able to see how much you're enjoying yourself. And I want you to keep enjoying yourself as you make more content. And I wish the internet was such a place where people could still do what they wanted without the worry of "If this doesn't do well, I'll have to stop doing this because I put too much work into this. despite me enjoying it." I enjoy this "April Fools" rant because its always something people expect and not expect because of the day and i wanna say a few things to a things he talks about. EWW should feel like a side thing about games YOU wanna write about to the main stuff you wanna push out, i understand that you wanna slide it out of your content because of how much pressure you have on the series. Having youtube as a career is almost always an accident and it surprisingly helped boost to the stuff you wanna do. I felt in a personal level about not feeling connected to communities, placing yourself in one and having something to show that you can belong in it is rough. You asking for permission is a respectful thing and i like it and you should do something like ProZD does, some for you, some for the audience. Charriii5, im here to support you where ever you go because i love your style and your ideas and i wanna see how far you can go and hope Soul Star will be completed the way you saw it before you leave. I am a writer. As a writer, I truly do understand who you feel, to an extent, when it comes to this. Making the content you produce *yours* and not an imitation of another's does really matter, and I think going forward in this way is, in the end, a good decision. I get how scary it is, it can be a terrifying thing to make this kind of step, but even if you drop a little from this, ultimately, I, along with many others, will stay with you through this new frontier. I respect you a lot, Charriii. You got me into Sonic as a franchise and have really helped me through some rough times. As a creative writer, I know the feeling all too well of what you produce feeling like a chore, and distancing yourself from that is healthy, even if scary.
Many people will see this as a joke because of when it was posted. I know, and many others do, that it isn't. Keep moving forward with this decision, Charriii, I believe in you.
A lot of the reason that I enjoy this channel is because of your personality and genuine care for what makes a good story. I have the same issue with my writings nowadays! I now write innocent fan fic ("innocent fan fic" meaning NOTHING DIRTY HAPPENS despite it being a "fan fic"). In the past (when I was in high school), I used to be able to make up my own characters and stories and I would know where I would want to go with those stories! I had a beginning, middle, and end to all of those stories! Now, I don't feel as creative as I used to be. I think that school may have been to blame because maybe I got drilled into my head with "learning" and "useless algebra" information (not trying to imply that algebra is useless in any means) that I will never use in my entire life because "why" would I need to find y in an equation; if I want to do other things such as "creative writing," or "develop video games." Nowadays, I wrote those fan fics to help myself cope, and those fan fics are purely private and fictional! I know that Bakugo from My Hero Academia is a fictional character, BUT (and I can't emphasis this enough); I DID NOT create Katsuki Bakugo because I am not the author of My Hero Academia. But that's the fan fic that I write! I have fictional anime characters teaching me how to smile again when I feel like I've "lost my way." And I miss being able to write my own stories with my own characters with my own plot twists that's not in any way related to my mental wellbeing! I miss just writing (and I mean creatively writing; not writing some fan fic because I'm a hardcore fan myself (number one), and that's my way of coping (number two)). I don't mean to rant for too long in this comment, and I'm fully aware that this is online whereas everyone can read this and will learn something new about me (a random stranger that just subed today). I get the struggle and you have my support (even though we don't really know each other), and that's all that I was meaning to say!

As someone who is one of your long-term fans (since 2015!) I have certainly seen you grow and evolve in the style you make your videos, up to and including the EWW of course. As fun as those are to watch, I can see where you are coming from saying that it feels more like an obligation than a fun activity. We certainly all have those moments in our lives, and I would imagine that somebody who has succeeded like you can definitely feel like it's extra burdensome.
I am glad you took the time to make this video, as too many people out there, myself included when I still made my own content, unexpectedly stop producing content without any real explanation. When I watched your eww for the Sonic arcade games, I had a sense something was wrong given how the video ended with you talking to yourself.
You may not have seen my comment, but I remember watching your video for "Sonic Forces rewritten" And I had told you it was your Magnum opus. I still stand by that statement today, and I think that video is absolute proof that you are quite capable of doing whatever you want to put your mind to 😊
Whatever you end up doing with your channel, I look forward to it no matter what you do! Your EWW videos Are always fun to go back to and rewatch, and I quite frequently do just that! I can understand why you would feel like you are bogged down by a feeling of imitating another content creator, but at the same time, you have always had your own twists and spins and originality to it, and I give you props for that!
You will always have my support, and you will always be one of the people I actually regularly take time to sit down and watch! Sorry if this post comes off as as one long incoherent ramble that's hard to decipher, but my main point in this is there will always be people behind you, including myself, and you should do whatever works for you, Even if it takes you in a vastly different direction! If the Sonic forces rewritten video is any indication, you can Excel just as much with original content as you have with the eww series!

Change is a scary thing, but it's also an exciting thing as well. Sometimes we may not know how it'll turn out, but that doesn't mean we should be afraid of that. You know I and many others are gonna be there to support you. I absolutely look forward to what you create in the future and see that passion of yours shine with your new direction for this channel!

Hey Charriii, I completely understand your decision, and, if anything, I'm glad you want to go forward and work on things you're more passionate about! I love your style of writing and storytelling and the Rewritten videos have always been some of my favorites so I'd be super excited to see more of them (not to pigeon-hold you into those videos either, ofc!) I think you are incredibly skilled at both storytelling but also constructive criticism that doesn't feel like its directly insulting the source material but rather objectively and fairly recognizing the issues with said source material and offering solutions to those issues.
I think change is a natural part of life and it's totally fair to admit that this just isn't what you want to do anymore (or maybe even ever), I'd had OCs who I made back in elementary school who i frankly what to compete;y rewrite because of simply how different of a person i am nowadays! I think you going forward and working on things that will make you happy would make me a lot happier than if you continued to do something you weren't excited or passionate about for the sake of pleasing the masses (though I completely understand why, you need to pay your bills and all).
Honestly, some of my favorite videos on this channel is the Cream's Toyko Tour one. I don't remember if I wrote a comment on it because frankly I've only recently decided to try to be more vocal in my support since I feel I've been silent for far too long. But that video (and others of yours to be honest - like the newer EWW Shadow the Hedgehog) made me cry. It was just touching to see such a positive video that celebrated culture and history, especially in such a world where negative thoughts can often boggle you down completely. The section of the EWW Shadow the Hedgehog on mental health also made me cry though for different reasons, unfortunately I feel many of us have felt similar ways in the past (I know I have) and it meant a lot to me to see you take it as seriously and respectfully as you did.
Speaking of being respectful, as a member of the LBGTQIA+ community it means a lot to me that you always try your hardest to use the correct pronouns for characters (like Barry (or Rice Bingle I suppose hehe) from Tmosth or Mangle from fnaf). It's a small thing but it really does mean a lot to me.
So frankly, Charriii, I think the part of your videos I love the most is you, I love the writing and comedy you come up with and how respectful and kind you are!! I'm super excited to watch whatever you plan on doing next and even whatever you may do after that in the years to come! I think I will miss the EWWs since I have been someone who's been watching them for years. In some ways I'm surprised you aren't more well known in the Sonic community since it's your videos that kept me in love with Sonic as a series all these years. I think most Sonic fans have had a time where they fall off of or at least try to pretend they don't like Sonic because of bullying or getting made fun of or what-have-you, and your videos helped me stay engaged and interested in Sonic even during those years I was trying to limit my interest in the series. It was so touching to see videos where the story aspects (even if being lightly made fun of) were being taken seriously.

Don’t worry about what others think, create what you genuinely like because that’s the reason I subscribed. mostly, because of the enjoyable underrated stuff genuine people make by showing who they are from the original content they make. Besides isn’t that what’s creativity is all about, doing what you like and have enjoyment in the process of what you create.

I will admit I haven’t been here a long time, but it has been an amazing time nonetheless! I would actually argue the rewritten episodes are two of my favorites, it scratches an itch that not a lot of other content exactly can and stuff like that has inspired me to work on my own creative visions. Sonic Forces rewritten especially kind of kickstarted the process of making something a bit more original actually.

I absolutely love your rewritten Mario movie video. I think as a concept you came up with mostly on your own it could really take off. Even if I don’t end up watching all of them, I’m sure you’ll be able to find a loving audience.
I definitely think that this has been a long time in the making, and a great decision for your channel! I certainly haven't watched you as long as others have, but I have seen enough to kinda see your mixed feelings on the EWWs and how they keep you from doing other things both on and off the channel. Even though EWWs are funny, your rewrites and streams have so much more character! You have so much creativity and I certainly feel like it's a waste of it to focus all of it on the EWWs. I've had to take several breaks from yt, and whenever I come back to your channel I'm always pretty surprised that you're still doing them with the variety of other things you do and how much you dislike them, but I understand that it's what pays the bills. You do whatever you need to do. I'm just a single viewer and I haven't been very vocal in the past, but I do remember the Tetris video and felt something like this would be coming. I really enjoyed the recent non-eww stuff you put out, and would be absolutely be down for more of it.
This was a very good real talk video about moving forward and branching out into new things, it can be scary and you won’t know where it could go but we all must take risks in life. Whatever the future holds I hope I it works out well and you can find another niche that everyone will love.

This is completely understandable. Searching for an path foward in life no matter the topic is hard. Hopefully everything works out in the future. Sometimes change is needed, and while I first found the channel through the EWW's I have stayed here for the other types of videos and getting to know this channel and the person behind it

I've been watching you for around almost 10 years. I never have anything to say other than: Great video! I tend to be a slow burner though. Just do what you think is best and try to flesh it out when you can. Put it in the table so you can go back should you want to. Failure may happen, but you can learn from it. I hope you'll be happy with what you do.
As someone who knows how it is to be a "people pleaser" as it were, I understand where you're coming from, and I totally support your decision to switch focus, seeing as you are a person who deserves to be able to chase their dreams just like anyone else here.
Will I personally miss the EWW series? Sure, but that's just because I like your takes and jokes and things that make the EWW series appealing to me. However, that being said, I don't say that as a way to say that you "owe" me or "don't owe" me anything because frankly you don't owe anybody anything, but you still provide entertainment, value, and positivity on a level that a lot of creators or influencers today simply cannot say they do.
I do like your other projects, and when I say that I consider myself to be a part of this community that will support you as a creator in whatever you choose to do, I mean that. Regardless of what your focus is, Charriii, you've done some incredible work, on all of your projects, be they EWW Gamingsins, Rewritten, etc. On a personal note, you've definitely made some of my hard nights easier and you've really helped me in my own life, and that's not just through your humor, but your awesome personality, which you can channel into whatever you choose to or choose not to do. Like I said at the outset, you are a person who deserves to be able to focus on and pursue whatever it is you like, because grinding at the same thing for years just to do it perpetually for the sake of the fact you feel like you HAVE to is taxing at best.
You have immense creative potential, Charriii, and as long as you don't forget that, you'll go far in whatever creative endeavor you choose to pursue.

Hey chriii5 i totally understand what your saying, ive gave this advice to people, when your not up for doing a youtube content, dont do it because it wont go well, youtube content comes from the youtuber and the youtuber must like what they do. Even if you quit youtube, i will support you, if anyone carrys on doing something they dont like it will end bad. You do what you want. Dont worry about what what we think, in this day an age, we understand more.
You have projects that you wanna do and a life you want to lead. You do have your creative talents and I hope you know that (While it is easier to say but harder to tell yourself) you do good work. I admit, I saw the title and thought this was gonna be a fake retirement announcement, but I'm pleasantly surprised to see something that's just genuine. I loved watching the rewrittens, and you can bet I'll see them even if I haven't seen the original because I love watching the *creative process*, what you're changing, why you're changing it, and how it comes out in the end!
It's not like I don't like the EWWs or anything but I know how you feel about it being the channel's main thing, so I'm all for you branching out and doing something you feel more pride in. I understand being afraid to change what you're doing though. I can't really say anything about youtube from experience because I've never uploaded anything, let alone done it for a job. But what I'm trying to say is I think whatever you do you'll make it work. I'm sure there'll be rough patches, but you'll figure something out if/when it comes to that.

It's rough doing the same thing over and over, especially if you feel like it's not what you wanna keep doing. Maybe trying some other form of content on a different channel (for algorithm reasons) might be a worthwhile attempt. I would miss the EWWs, but I think you should try what makes you feel better about your work!
Oh man, that was a lot to take in. But I can understand why this would happen. Making all kinds of different content for certain audiences is hard, since you have to have time to do it, and you need to keep track of all the videos you're planning for the future. Some of the projects on here like the Rewritten videos (which I absolutely enjoy by the way) take days, if not weeks to make since there's tons of research, drawing, etc. So I hope the best for the future to you, and the future of will become of this channel.
As long as you're happy doing what makes you happy then go for it man!

only do things you want to do. People are constantly asking for things to be made so don't worry about doing new things. Some people don't watch for the genre of the creator, they watch for the creator
You could introduce the new thing and overtime slowly faze-out the content you don't want to do anymore, so that we the fans can more easaly migrate to the new content

He’s goofy most of the time and you can tell when he’s being facetious, but when he addresses serious topics he normally approaches it with nothing but maturity and empathy. Whether or not this was an April fools day prank, the things you talked about were very genuine. Listen dude you are one of my favorite RUclipsrs and you’re pretty much the only guy that streams, I always try to watch it. Sometimes it’s hard to watch a stream because it ends up happening at random times and it’s hard to make the time to watch them, but whenever you stream I always try to make some time to watch, because I love the community you have built and the content you create. I hope nothing but the best for you, regardless of what happens. I understand you have a family now and you have to do things to support them, and sometimes that means not putting this channel at the forefront. You seem like a really cool guy, wish nothing but the best ❤.
