To stop the weeds growing on and through the fabric, just cover your whole garden even your beds, never cut the fabric always burn to cut and make holes to put your plants in, never leave fabric out over winter, store it in a cold dry place and then cover crop beds over winter.

This is the exact fabric I use in 6 ft width. Used for the second year this past year. Held up fine. Some problems as you showed. Here and there a bit of centipede grows through. I hate that grass and my garden used to be our lawn, which was tilled and tilled under several times and then I disposed of the centipede clumps by raking into piles and discarding over the pasture fence. Good fabric.

What if you use it on top of the raised bed, burned holes for transplanting tomato plants. Then after harvest, I would pull roll both long side up to the center of tomato trellis, fix and add amendments to the bed then roll the fabric back on both sides, and continue planting, this way has no soil on top and it won't break down into microplastics that you are talking about. Will this work?

Struggled with weeds for decades and the "solution" is not simple. I don't like Roundup, etc and my method has evolved as my garden has. I've gone from "around the pool" to 1/3 acre under landscaping. It's the "jungle" look - herbs, shrubs, veggies and flowers. Best method (bar none) - heavy plastic rolls. No weeds, nothing underneath but the cons are expense, heat, non-linear garden and retaining mulch. Next, cardboard covered by weed fabric (middle quality). I make holes to plant, add mulch and I'm good for at least 3 years, usually longer. The cardboard is great for "shaping" around plants.

That "vining grass" looks like it may be torpedograss. Gawd awful noxious, invasive species. It absolutely loves the augmented soil in my small garden plot and once you let it get a foothold, it's practically impossible to eradicate. I've bought a different brand of fabric, not yet installed and now I have doubts about installing it. From your experience, it may be worse than useless in my situation.
The plot is protected on three sides by cinder block walls. The open side is where this crap gained entry when I was too sick to fight it in May 2020. My plan now is to install 8" deep hammer-in edging strips on the open side of the plot ($120 for 19 feet), and then dig the whole thing up using a screen to remove the torpedograss bits. Every little piece of rhizome that isn't removed grows into more torpedograss. I bought this weed barrier fabic thinking I could lay it and solve the problem. Maybe I was drunk when I hit the purchase button.
Either that, or give up on gardening at the age of 67 and admit defeat. That crap has been described as the world's worst weed. And I can believe it.

Most other posts about weed barrier agrees with woven being the way to go but you are the only one Ive come across that specifies polyethylene. is the polyethylene that much better then polypro? Have you compared woven polyeth vs polypro? I ask because 99% of the woven barriers out there are polypro. Im not trying to call you out im just trying to get to the bottom of it. it just seems odd that eric is the only one that figured out that polyethylene is the secret to stopping weeds and none of the manufactures have figured it out yet. But its not impossible. What say you Eric? or anyone who is kind enough to help me out here id appreciate any input. i spent a large part of my weekend trying to find polyethylene and if it wasnt for erics link above i never would have found it.(thanks for that link by the way eric). i wish i realized the link was there 30 hours earlier haha. The AI's basically tell me to go scratch and pretend "polyethylene" isnt part of my question. peace out

Hello friend. I just got back from vacation. I actually simply misspoke in this video. I meant to say polypropylene. The DeWitt is polypro. I don't think I have ever bought one that is polyeth. Sorry.

Try a smaller more confined pan like a loaf pan. It shouldn't deflate too much but Einkorn flour it tricky because the gluten structure is so different.

Weed barrier fabric I hate it hate it hate it. Did you know weeds mostly grow by seeding it blows on top of the fabric and it’s impossible to weed f they grow also crab grass loves it it will eventually grow up out of any hole it can find. The bigger the roots it gets it will eventually pop its own hole. Have you ever tried to weed a fully covered weed fabric that has over grown with weeds .
