BMW 328i: Best M3 ALTERNATIVE?!?

- We revisit AJ's 328is and take a look at the changes its been through since the last time we saw it on the channel. From new wheels, steering wheel, sun roof delete, new seats and a whole new exterior color change, the car is definitely looking like a solid M3 clone.

The only E36 M3 that came with a different colored engine bay was technoviolet. The engine bay on that color is gray. I have an Estoril blue 1999 M3 auto vert and my engine bay is Estoril.

I like that ur not trying to be an "M" but a modded 328. I personally kept my trunk badge as the look of it grew in me. U gotta do the m50 intake swap with kassel tune, it's a noticeable change and sound. Lol after my manual swap I drove around for a few months with the auto's 3.91 but it was TOO aggressive without a 6th gear. I put what's the stock ratio is(can't remember off hand) but plan on doing a m3 ratio swap in my 3.91 case

@@BMWiE-lz3nu the car never came with the 328 badge and as for the m50 manifold i just sold it lol. the car is currently being swapped and more to come... maybe an LS maybe not, maybe its a S54 maybe its not. could even be a N55 from a e90 335..... stay tuned for the video(s) Juan posts

It's very satisfying to finally see you guys falling into proper driving cars. Car is gorgeous in Estoril Blue, Nice choice! Other than being IMHO the most handsome chassis, that E36 will truly show its worth when AJ takes it out to a few track days (make sure you have that content). Not sure of his talent, but I won't be surprised if he hounds the TSX and gets the point by☺️. -- The 318/ShortBus comment doesn't sit well though 😡.. part of personal enthusiast growth should include a Semester in respecting all trim levels (sorry, just had to get that in). LUV THE CHANNEL THOUGH!! Keep 'em coming
The short bus comment was an inside joke, but the 318ti is definitely the red headed step child of the E36 offerings. We will definitely have track day footage when the car gets back out there. Glad you enjoyed!
They do not come with black engine bays

True. And the engine bay is usually not clear coated. That is to say the paint is not shiny.

My brother had the rarest of the E36 paint, Byzanz metallic. It was color matched engine bay.
They made 37 US spec M3/4door/5speeds. He scrapped two. Apparently, it was a magnet for people that don't understand what a red light means.

Everything that was done, except oil cooler, to the car is look. . . And at that, to look like a M3. I don't understand Californians, and I sure don't understand the title of the video.
He drew the line at also getting m3 door mirrors.
@@blipshiftapex9047 Right! lol. Also didn't want the "M3" on the molding. The money for the paint job could have gotten a decent turbo and tuning. . .
@@Jessersadler yes and no. We road race quite a bit so turbo isn't reliable enough for us in those situations. With the direction the car is going in keeping this motor healthy is important as it will help in paying for the next motor going in 😁.
