@@TheCreativeDork5 Absolutely! I've been "wingin it" with baking temperatures. I primarily use Premo, but love the translucency of Cernit. Now, tried and true, by us both! They can be baked at the same temp! 😁So yet again, thanks!!!🌹
Wow!! Those are majorly awesome❣️❣️❣️ Such a great idea for making leftover canes work for you!! All of those pieces looked beautiful. The abstractness and colors were such an enhancer!! I have to try this. I have been using some of the rollers I got from your Etsy shop to make shaved slabs and they work really well but I never thought of using cane slices to create the slab. I have a drawer and a bin full of canes and mokume gane blocks that are just leftovers, now I want to go through them all again. Thank you so much for sharing this, it is a great way to effectively use up clay remnants taking up space!!! 💜🤍💚💛💙
These are turning out awesome and ya snow flurries are always fun, here it is Wen and sis in law and I decided at 9am ya we can go out and about, by the time we where both ready to go, yep it’s snowing again, ugh I think my toes will defrost maybe in June. lol glad we are a weathering this crazy California weather. So stay safe and warm out there. Tfs hugs from AV.
I love how RUclips gets craft suggestions spot on! Having never watched your channel before... I don't even know what a cane is!? But I was hypnotised Watching this. Is this polymer? Ahhh I need this in my life. The texture and pattern is Amazing and also incredibly like a funky coat I once had! Bloody loved this video you creative legend you!! ❤️
The ones that the teal got into look great and I love the basket weave colorful one!!. Can you spend a bit more time explaining how you use the rock tumbler, what medium you use
They turned out amazing! I love this technique. I have so many canes that I have made because...well, I have to try it! Of course they don't always turn out, so they sit in a box because I don't know what to do with them. Now I will give this a try.
You can do it! I was horrible for the longest time. It takes time to figure out how to reduce. Plus, if these were perfect, I wouldn't have done this soooo mine aren't that great either. Take a few colors of clay and chop it all up. Then, run it through the pasta machine like this video. Add the white and black backing too. I bet it will come out just as nice.
I remember several months ago you listed your canes for sell, that went well for you right? Must have been a lot of work, timely to sell off. This technique is a great use...fun fun fun I am glad to see that skinner blends and bullseye will work
These turned out amazing! When I make canes, I use all of it. I'm going to have to make bigger canes so I have leftovers. What happened with the one you used with the scraps? That was really odd they wouldn't stick to the clay, only your fingers. LoL Been there, done that. 🤷♀️
These are beautiful. I gotta question though, you mentioned you put your stuff in a tumbler, what kinda tumbler and what media do you use and for how long, and what results do you get? 😊
You leave out so many details that I have trouble trying to make the same thing that you make. I am a novice to all of this. And I wish he wouldn’t leave out steps. I really like this pattern but I have no idea how you made it. Please be a little bit more detailed going forward in your tutorials, even if you have to do a part one and part two etc. thank you so much.
I’d like to see the type of paste machine you use so I can understand if mine is comparable for one thing. Why are you laying white polymer clay on top?
Good Lord you've solved yet another problem! Thanks for sharing🌹
I did? Thanks for that!

Thank you for a great idea to keep in mind!
You are so welcome!
These are so cool,I love this idea.
Glad you like them!
Thank you! Grazie! 😊
I love that it looks abstract, yet 70s retro. The color of the cane lent itself to the great success!
This is so genius 😊 Definitely going to try this!! TFS
Have fun! It just made it more fun.
Irene, you are one of the smartest artists I know! By the way, thank you so much for my second package of wonderful cutters. They are great!♥️

You sound just like me
These are really pretty! Too bad I can't make a cane because if I could, I'd definitely try this technique! Thanks for sharing!

Yes I did. I thought about it again and then this hit my brain:-)
Great Tutorial, i will certainly try this one, thanks. What do you use in your tumbler? or do you have a tutorial about tumbling polymer clay?
Not yet! Just a bit and pieces tutorial somewhere on here. I'll try and get one up.
These turned out amazing! When I make canes, I use all of it. I'm going to have to make bigger canes so I have leftovers.

Kara, I made a quick video..not that great but you'll get an idea. I also have one up here somewhere that shows it as well
💖💖🙏🏽
I like the gold, kinda look like animal skin
Uea, I have an idea with an animal print one...we'll see if it works
cornstarch kept it from sticking
Yes. I like it more than using water
Where are you in SO Cal?
High desert now. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley
Did I hear correctly, “throw them in the tumbler “? I’m feeling really stupid. What does that mean?
I use a rock tumbler to sand when I have bunches of pieces

Hi. What details are you having trouble with? The actual making of the cane?
