Jim Nabors had so much talent. He was a great actor and singer. He was great in Gomer Pyle. I enjoy watching reruns of the show today. He also used his talent very well. Thanks for the memories, Jim Nabors.
I've been in Studio 33 four times.... three of these times for tapings of The Price Is Right. Carol Burnett also taped her show in this studio from 1967 to 1978.
Good Lord. I've never seen this footage before but I LOVE IT !!! This is a True Classic & Thank You so much for putting it on RUclips. 2 Thumbs Up & 5 Stars to this Video. 👍🏻⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍🏻
It's a shame all of these great shows just sit in a vault somewhere wasting away. This looks quite well to have been shot on videotape in 1967. Nice that it has the opening "in color" banner as well as the integrated sponsor commercials.
I hope you take this in the right context but I think Jim nabors is possibly one of the most forgotten actors of all time considering all the things he did
Too true. very versatile and talented. what have we got today ? one trick ponys. Is there an email mail address for the TV company ? maybe enough of us could pester them into releasing the shows
He was so so so talented, and even as a teenager born in 2002, I LOVED his show and gomer Pyle USMC right off the bat! These shows need to be released, onto Netflix or something where lots of people can access the shows
Sunday, September 15, 2013--11:44 pm CST I wish they would put "The Jim Nabors Hour" on DVD or Blu-ray. I used to watch his variety show every Thursday night. I vaguely remember his specials.
I don’t know why, but he scared me as a child. I just remember being uncomfortable when he was doing the Gomer Pyle shtick or when they did the ads for his albums. As I got into my teens and now being 50, I enjoy watching him on classic TV and his voice was wonderful.
I find it really weird that the two-minute overture (starting at 2:45) to a 1960's variety show special is "watch it over and over again" material, but there you have it. What a voice!
Mr. Bart Boatwright. Thanks for posting. Do you have the whole episode of this show? I would love to see it. My favorite show of all time was the "Jim Nabors Variety Show" that ran from '69 to '71. I was just a boy of 10 years old and I don't remember seeing any of Mr. Nabor's specials, so I would love to see them. I've written Mr. Nabors repeatedly about releasing "The Jim Nabors Variety Show", on DVD, so far it hasn't worked, but I keep hoping. Once again, thanks for posting.

Jim Nabors was a class act and a great singer, actor and great person what a shame hes not with us anymore Rest in Peace to an incredible entertainer.
As a kid it always freaked me out when he sang. Now I’m simply in awe.

This show originally aired Oct. 12, 1966, 50 years ago today. Its ratings put it among the top 100 rated shows of all time on network tv.
Paved the way for his variety show.I have a hunch that was the idea,Jim Nabors was tiring of Gomer Pyle.
This is so great :) Ahhh the good old TV days. :)
50 years ago. he was 37 here
LOVE THESE OLD SHOWS !!

Some great production design and setcraft here...every stick of those sets were probably built right there in CBS Television City's basement set shop.

Would be fun to see the 1967 American Motors commercials too.
only if the Javelin is the car featured.

Dear John,
I also keeping hoping that "The Jim Nabors Hour" will be on DVD or Blu-Ray someday.
👏👏👏👏👏

- WOW! Thanks for posting! Do you have any full episodes of The Jim Nabors Show ?
In the opening credits the announcer said that the show was sponsored by the 1967 American Motors.
Hiya BartBoat,
if you have anymore stuff on Jim Nabors' special, please post them.
Love these Bart
Do you have the full shows?

Man, this rope-smoker sure liked to sing and dance
Fixed the date on the title
Was this on CBS?
Guess what? NOBODY cared about his sex life.
John, I do have the entire episode and can sell you a copy if you are interested. Just drop me an e-mail at bartboat@gmail.com
The restyled bodies sure don't look very attractive in the opening. It looks like a student film.
Back when they thought he liked women. LOL
