Might be only me but even after a buff to pickaxes their attack range often feels too short. Shorter than cleavers at times. Same goes for heavy swords that feel shorter than combat knives for some reason.
You might just be getting ghost hits. Servers for this game can be pretty bad, and sometimes your weapon could be visually embedded inside an enemy's head and still register no damage..
Is this gun viable on non-ranged focused Ogryn builds? I wanna branch from the Kickback, but it's so hard to find a weapon that doesn't feel utterly inferior on a melee ogryn.
Maybe if you run the same blessing setup as he has here. You'll have decent dmg still but obviously your ammo economy isn't going to be as great by not having burst limit override etc
Achlys is still one of my favorite guns because it’s one of the few reliable options for taking down multiple Specials without needing to reload or swap weapons (the other top choice being Ripperguns). With 80% stability, Achlys has become insanely accurate - you can even counter Snipers from long distances, as shown here. This makes it more ammo-efficient than ever. Plus, if you're playing a melee-focused Ogryn, you wouldn’t be using your gun as frequently anyway.
@xstreamdray it's crazy krourk stability stat has zero benefits unlike achlys or gorgon With new melee weapon, I play as ogyrn in minecraft mining Diamantine for empra
@@xstreamdray Ripperguns have terrible blessings though. The bleed one will never proc on a melee build Ogryn, and continuous fire buff ones are useless since after 1-2 shots you're just shooting in the air due to spread+recoil.
@@Shajirr_I see so many people using ripper, when I run it I'm shooting at the ceiling lmao! Although watching this makes me want to run the stubber, the grenadier gauntlet is super nice too, that's what I use, I just like it, 4 grenades before reload is nice, although I do feel like I'm reloading all the damn time
The nuke's good, but when you come across grenade pick-ups can be really RNG in this game. So it's going to be less consistent in performance. Soften Them Up only affects melee attacks, not ranged. So you won't see that much benefit from it in a ranged build. Rocks help with ammo conservation, and can also 1 shot all Maniacs (including Mutants & Maniac Ragers). They're usually what I go with for consistency. Also, watching Muties ragdoll from a rock in the face never gets old!
@michalkrasnodebski8709 You're correct, that stat can't be modified so you're still dependent on RNG for it, unfortunately. You need to check the shops regularly to look out for them.
It's kinda sad to watch. You are almost not using the stabber. Only as anti-specialist on mid-long range + bosses. The main weapon is pickaxe. And that's the main it's problem, it can't really make damage. Two other can stop cushers and melt any crowd without even thinking what's in it, this one is killing an elite gunner in 2-3 sec. It is too long. Pickaxe is just faster. And bigger ammo count when you need to spend much more isn't helping too. Flame ult plus high fire speed is good against bosses, but for real every staber can bring them down. Lower amount of more powerful bullets makes +5 ammo on kill perk give more worth. But yes, other 2 machinguns are bad against snipers. THat's the last benefit on high difficulty. A good gun for lower difficulties, when everything is falling from just looking at it. But for late game just underwhelming. Support weapon for pickaxe which is the best, but not on long range obviously.
Fatshark really doesn't want you to just use your gun as a primary all game (which is why they nerfed the Survivalist aura), so having to use your melee to conserve ammo is a design choice. This variant of the Heavy Stubber is also the only one that can start shooting immediately after you switch to it so you can quickly respond to high priority targets, which is the reason why you almost never see people use any other Heavy Stubber variant.
idk whats funnier in this game: a dog getting smited by a psyker or a charging mutie getting rocked in the mouth by an ogryn
Both equally as funny!
Guess i'll be leveling an Ogryn after i'm done with my Zealot XD
You definitely should try out all the classes, they all play quite differently and offer different experiences!
crazy dude, using pickaxe so well
Thanks Dennis! Did the new update bring you back to the game?
This is why Gunlugger ogryn will be the only ogryn for me

Why take rock+slam over grenade and soften them up for this build?

Is that dodge counter an add on ??
It's the Show Remaining Dodges mod that can be found on the Nexus.
@@xstreamdray damn I was hoping it was a setting in game because I’m playing on console so zero Qol over here.
Aw darn, consoles do get the short end of the stick a lot of the time. 🫠
is there like a way to get better curios ?
Craft them? You can literally make anything you want now for pretty cheap. I suggest corruption resistance until the event ends
@@randomhero6365 I can only customize 3 effects in a curio, im talking about that one effect on top, it's hard to get good one at least for me

I think those are next on the list of things to rework so it should be part of the next update.
EPIC
