    Firstly that engine just sounds like pure poetry. Secondly although that lightning strike was absolutely terrifying, it was badass that you got it on film and That you can actually hear the thunder. I've never quite seen something like this.

      Those cfm56 engines are pretty loud being a bypass engine. The cfm leaps are way quieter.

    Commenting 2/3/20 at 625am EST...from southern RI, USA...You're so right about the lightning strike and a bang of thunder at 05:36.....incredible...as one can hear the thunderclap despite the loud roaring engine of the 737...((and the PA announcement about it around the 7:40 mark)) ..Back on 1/29/64...my very first jetliner flight was in a severe Tstorm..way down in Montevideo, Uruguay..en route to Buenos Aires, Argentina and then finally to NYC's JFK airport the next morning..I remember the lightning and the severe turbulences..I was at age six at the time...yet...56 years later..I remember the event so very well...even to this day...

    • @emiliocaprioli4982
      @emiliocaprioli4982 7 лет назад +5

      this is the cfm-56 Engine, like every Boeing 737 since the 400 series and most of the a-320.
      Anyway the Rolls Royce's engines are not the best...had too much technical failures...see the BA b-777 in heatrow or the Qantas a-380 engine failure. the best are the GE's engines!

    • @peterroe8800
      @peterroe8800 7 лет назад +1

      sputnic The Heathrow 777 incident was nothing to do with the reliability of the engine it was fuel starvation due to icing .

  • @Cl4rendon

    Whoever might find this unusual for that time of the year - Weather does`nt care what time of the year it is - All you need is the right vertical decreasing temperature gradient that produces enough convective energy and you get the charged cell.
    This is very typical in the north sea area when there`s a distinctive vertical temperature difference between the ( relative) warm ocean surface and a high layer of arctic air mass above.

    • @Rucaahahah
      @Rucaahahah 7 лет назад +4

      The engines just make this noise during take-off when engines are set to full power. The noise is beacause the edge of the fan blades exceedes the sound barrier. When the plane is in crusing altitude, the engines are not in full power and this noise dissapears.

      Turbine rotation speed is causing that end of the blades are exceeding speed of the sound causing this noice.

      mohanicus it's because the edge of the fan blades speeds up to sonic speed and breaks the sonic barrier, and this is the reason why this powerful sound is created

It sounds just like my weed whacker (insert joke here about how cheap Ryanair is.) It's only slightly less grating than nails on a chalkboard, to me at least. But I guess I'm in the minority here.

    its not ryanair , their real name is lyingair and once you have this firmly in your mind you have some chance of avoiding the three card trick they will pull on you on every turn .I have just come back from Ireland and when you book your flight is for return but your case is only booked one way, so if you want to go home with your case you will have to pay again , so yes please that's another 70 euros . If their flights were free I would not fly with them.
