IMO Top Ten is much better - adding the extra numbers in Ito simply makes it more random and harder to get things in the right order - differentiating between a 35 & 37 is nigh on impossible and getting them in the right order is often down to pure luck. With Top Ten you always feel that you SHOULD be able to get it right - even if you often don’t!
@@basedplants no - my issue isn’t that “sometimes it’s harder”! My issue is that the game design allows for 100 potential increments, and several players could have numbers fall in a very narrow band. If this happens, it’s pretty RANDOM as to whether you get it right or not (try coming up with 100 smelly things and putting them in a guessable order). With only 10 increments, you feel like your outcome is always based on clever play (which is fun) rather than randomness (which is unsatisfying). That’s my experience anyway, after playing both.
Brought this to a party and had a blast. People did note the similarity to Wavelength, but this fits in a coat pocket which actually got it there and to the table 😉
I wish the categories here in Ito would be phrased like wavelength. The way it's phrased right now... I wouldn't have understood myself they mean 'Axis between 1-100'. But, yeah, totally cooperative wavelength and timeline/illusion.
The only difference with Top Ten that I see are: 1. More numbers (1~10 vs 1~100) 2. Putting your color card below the card you submitted (I will be implementing this house rule into top ten now) 3. Different questions Is that it? If someone has any more to add please tell me. I was looking forward to the game until I saw the review and it basically looked VERY similar to Top Ten
This game seems really fun, but I’m afraid you might have the same problem as Spyfall where one player might continually give answers that they argue are technically true, but are very misleading to the rest of the group. For example, if the category was things that smell good and they had the number two and said roses And at the end of the game said “ What I think roses stink”
@thedicetower Yeah, maybe since it’s purely cooperative, people will be less likely to get too clever for their own good. It was one of my main frustrations with spyfall… things like people who aren’t the spy saying that a nightclub is loud “ Sometimes”
I've had this issue multiple times. I've had to stress that this is a cooperative game and that we are not trying to see who's the smartest around the table. The "um, actually" moments happen frequently.
@@CamObscura88 there was a comment on another video where it was said the title was a made up word, when in fact it did mean something in another language. Ito means thread or string in Japanese
Since watching the Dice Tower live play, I've tried playing this with The Mind cards and I've enjoyed it. However, I've had this game fail with every group I've played it with! It always devolves into the pedantics of the questions/topics to the point of arguing and eventually the end of the game night. Friends, family, randoms, I've had no success with it. Buyer beware.
@@TheM01eThanks mate, I was trying to find the playthrough as well. Sorry to hear the game didn't work out. Do you like other similar games like Wavelength or Fun Facts?
I’ve never played either Wavelength or Fun Facts. Admittedly, my breadth of my gaming experience is limited. I do like Ito though! The game gives me what I like about Code Names without the down time. I’ve played it with some groups that both like and dislike Code Names and had issues with both groups. Most of the time, the group seems to spend 5 minutes debating interpretation of the topic’s intent and then people passionately agruing clue’s due to different interpretations, which lead to even longer interpretations and “ground rules” before giving clue cards.
No. Fun facts puts at the center the personality of each player, and benefits much more from knowing them. The answers here are conceptual and made-up narrations.
SURPRISINGLY similar to That Escalated Quickly / Top Ten.
Wavelength but with cards
This game is very close to Top Ten
How can this get a 9 if it basically TopTen , or am I missing something?

It’s like a mix of Wavelength and Timeline, looks interesting
Exactly what I was going to say!

Take my money now!!! I have been waiting for an English version FOREVER that wasn't a flash in the pan release at Essen.
It's Wavelength with cards.
What is Ito Rainbow?
Question: does Tom plan on continuing his reviews of Multiverse United?
Also, I’ve been wanting to get Ito forever!
When will this hit US retail?!?!

It's absolutely a made-up word! 😜 I hope the other guy from the Inori comments is happy now!
Is this coming to the UK?
Fun Facts + say anything/apples to apples

@TheM01e That’s a great way to put it! “Um actually…” absolutely ruins these type of games
@@TheM01eseems lol it might just not be a game for your group if that’s happening.
Isn't this just kind of the Gang but in the Gand the only category is a poker hand? Kind of? In a way?
this is just Wavelength
wow nice. Better than so clover?
oh nevermind, Chris just answered that haha
Wavelength plus the mind. Nothing new here, but nice and compact so that’s something.
❤
Why is the German production of this game so different to this one?
as soon as you said "ito is a made up word" I was like oh no, here comes the comment again lol looks fun, I may have to grab it
