      Neah. If there was enough pressure for that (by people firing for those Visa's) they likely would allow more temp labor.
      Lots of companies don't want to. Those kinds of Visa come with requirements for the employer (housing, pay rate, etc). And inherently give those workers a better leg to stand on. Illegal labor is cheap and employers generally aren't punished for it. So for them it's all upsides.
      That's without mentioning the fact that smaller businesses often don't know how to obtain those or can't afford the costs to staff that way (lawyers and such to help with it aren't cheap).
      And for factories it's often cheaper just to move them to Mexico or another cheaper country.
      Not that it's all bad. Economically Illegal immigrants tend to be good in direct ways (often paying taxes and never collecting benefits). And indirect such as food cost (American agriculture would be far less competitively priced compared to import if the workers cost more).

      Because it is arbitrary. US immigration is notoriously broken. It's far more complex and bureaucratic than it needs to be. If one is really a concerned, use a background check. Easy peasy. Probably they need to search for them with methods that aren't legal under the US constitution, and they need to pester millions US citizens and deprive them of some of their rights under the constitution to have any success. And more likely, they don't have the manpower to do even a fraction of all of that. You'd basically need a force like the SS or STASI or some other form of secret police. You can't say that the United States should endlessly throw money at some Ukraine to protect their sovereignty and national security and then turn around and say that it's somehow ridiculous for America to do the same in their own borders. Economically speaking for average people Would stand to benefit from removing these illegal immigrants because this Would reduce the labor pool and mean that companies can no longer benefit off of cheap labor which would mean they would have to raise wages in order to Get more workers. The people who would suffer from Losing illegal immigrant labor would be multinational corporations. Just got fired from my job today I am a nail technician who started working for a nail salon late last month everything was going good they even agreed to have me on maternity leave for middle of feb. Because I’ll be having my baby first week of march. They knew I just graduated forms school even seen me work and got a few returning clients ,everything went good until I got my first paycheck I work in Arizona she didn’t give me a w2 nor 1099 payed me cash and payed me 45% commission for the services performed when I told her I thought legally you were supposed to pay me minimum wage because it was higher than my commission this week she says no I only pay 45% commission I thought oh ok she’s the business owner she must know more then me well I made it to my second paycheck now she’s hiring illegal Asians who are not even lisenced. So I went to school I’m pregnant and I was let go this morning because she was able to hire more experienced illegal technicians who are working for less than minimum wage! Now I have no Job 2 weeks before my kids 3rd bday and 6 weeks before christmas I wanna report them so bad but Karma will be in my side seems like it already is!

    • @amandafielding4451
      @amandafielding4451 2 дня назад +3

      Many countries are facing this issue. Here in Ireland we have had an influx of Ukrainians and people from the middle east, only for the most part, we seem to be a lot more hospitable towards them which I hope doesn't change given the surge in nasty anti-immigration misinformation posts that are becoming ever more prolific on social media platforms like X. Migration is the price of war and corrupt governments. In Venesaula people's wages are not covering a fraction of the money required to feed a family so how can they stay? In war torn countries. where citizens see their family and friends butchered and children raped, how can they stay? Would we stay? After a few years of Trumps administration I can foresee a whole lot of people wanting to leave the USA given that Trump is modelling his administration on how North Korea run things. It's going to be a very unpleasant, corrupt government in place, and it wouldn't surprise me if USA people try to mass exodus there as well in the coming years. Maybe when they're fleeing for their lives or in search of wages that will feed them, they'll regret their vitriol towards otherwise innocent people who were really just trying to survive life and keep their family from harm.

He now works in the egg industry where his company alone just found and fired over half his workers that he supervises because they were immigrants and the company made the mistake of outsourcing its hiring to a third party recruitment service that either didn't vet their fake papers hard enough or didn't require them to have legal docs in the first place. These companies don't pay enough to attract legal US citizens to work for them, and the trade off is we all get to enjoy cheaper beef, pork, chicken, eggs, and milk. But not anymore Oh and my hubby's company also supplies the egg products for companies like Hersheys, Burger King and Taco Bell breakfast menus. So look forward to paying even more for your candy and fast food soon (even worse than inflation and corporate greed price gouging).

Of course the United States took over their land and gave them no options. I don't care whether its legal or illegal the way they got in. All of us are immigrants. The indifference towards immigrants is disgusting, even for Immigrants that came here legally, they are mistreated and racially discriminated.
    Mexico is a country plagued with corruption, narcotics, and economical struggles. If you members of your family had been kidnapped or killed by cartels, how would you feel? The United States isn't far off. There is so much crime that by the time you report it its already too late. I hope people start opening their eyes and realize all these politicians are terrible. Some Mexicans have been in the US for decades, worked hard to earn their place here and didn’t get any help to get setup here.
    Meanwhile, Venezuelans for example have come to Chicago and been given free money, healthcare, places to stay, then those same Venezuelans turn around and have created some issues in city including within our neighborhood like stealing or starting up Venezuelan gangs.
    That alone has caused some people I know to vote Trump meanwhile I sat out the vote because while I agree with limiting immigration, I also believe men should stay out of the abortion argument as that isn’t up to us.

I doubt the US economy could take that big a hit, the loss ot tax revenue would be huge and many low paying jobs that "real" Americans do not want due to them being dirty, hot and nasty. I'm a Canadian as well and know what is happening here in regards to migrant labour and how buggered up our system can be, especially toward legal and highly skilled immigrants.
      I knew a lady from China who was not only an Electrical Engineer, but she designed power grid systems, taught in Technical Universities and even wrote/contributed to text books on the subject. She was also fluent in English.
      So when both the BC and Federal Government when overseas looking for talent to help here, she applied and came her with her son.
      Upon arrival, the British Columbia Electrical Association (BCEA), the licencing body for Electrial Engineers refused to recognize her qualifications, telling her she would have go back to school and start at square one inorder to be ceritified.
      She had to take menial low paying jobs to support her and her young son. In the end she returned to China after saving up enough for air fare and left Canada, our loss if you ask me.
      Like it or not, both the US and Canada are dependent on migration, be it legal or illegal.
