The Warner Brothers were very lucky to have Erich Korngold as a composer and conductor. These soundtracks are perfectly recorded, so What a pleasure to listen to this great composer with the original soud. We owe a lot too to the archivists who made certain that these recordings would not be destroyed when the great movie studios were being dismantled.
Hello Philip, the archivist has a name: George Korngold, music producer and son of Erich Wolfgang Korngold. He rescued the tapes that would be destroyed by Warner by making private copies of them. Not all scores could be found or copied, obviously, like "Another Dawn". Later, after the original tapes were destroyed, Warner wanted George's private copies back and... got them. They are the source for every original recording to be heard on any CD. If there hadn't be George - about every original recording would be lost for eternity. Best! Fred
Hello , and thanks for the very interresting story of the preservation of these beautiful film soundtrack which, as recorded , are actually suites for orchestra, which was obviously the intention. As for the sound of the recordings , from what I know, they were probably recorded as a movie soudtrack, on film, which explains the excellent sound quality. An everlasting thank you to George Korngold, and my personnal thanks to you for making these recordings available on RUclips. Great for my recordings collection: ! @@SoundtrackFred
It's such a magical score, 'tis a shame the symphony that plays when Miles fights off the Captain of the Guard and his two grunts near the end of the film.
Korngold put themes of Another Dawn and Juarez into the first movement. The second movement builds up on a theme from Anthony Adverse. The final movement, as you recognized, is partly taken from The Prince And The Pauper. As in this case, using music from films for serious music, Korngold also used music from serious music for motion pictures. Some of the themes of The Adventures Of Robin Hood building up on motifs from his early composition Sursum Corda. :-)

ONE OF KORNGOLDS BEST WITH FLYNN TAKING A GOOD PART AGAIN.
I heard some of the music on a Jascha Heifetz album.
SUGERENTE BANDA SONORA. BUENAS MELODIAS Y ARREGLO ORQUESTAL. MUY BUENA.
Anyone notice how Erich Wolfgang Korngold would eventually put parts of this score into his world famous Violin Concerto in D Major(1945)?

Exactly like I said, he had a Genius ear, minds like his come but once a century.
