I believe the reason everyone latched into this particular song is its reuse throughout the game, on nearly every midboss. The unique “melody” sample, that everyone thinks is a windshield wiper, fits in well with the trash theme, and goes catchily with the percussive combination of trap snares, bass hits, cut-off gongs, and bongos. Then the chopping and rearranging of the same wiper sound in the second half to keep the exact same noise fresh in the listener’s mind? It just generally works on a lot of levels. OH and the spooky synth wail to go with the chord swell and immediate drop into the “melody!” I ramble about good music. But I think mostly because you hear it on more than one spot in the game, people latched onto it.
@@bn3370 yes that's true and exactly my point! I love and have played Going Under about 3 years before this game came out, but hearing this music reminded me so much of the OST for that game again. So it just felt like a nice little throwback in a way.
