  • In this video, I will show you how to easily remove your headlight assembly on your Ford Explorer. I think you can do this from the years 2011 to 2019. Please take care when doing this as I am not responsible for what you do to your vehicle. My vehicle is a 2012 Ford Explorer Limited. The front grill on these SUV’s varies but they’re pretty much are the same thing underneath. Hope this helps out and thanks for watching.

    This worked!! Awesome video. Thanks much! No idea why people are telling us we need to take off the entire bumper

    Just did this today. Thank you. Last time I replaced them I took it to a shop. This time I followed your video and got it done in like an hour.

    Awesome video. You convinced me to leave mine as-is and not try to replace them myself 😅 I'd end uo snapping all the clips and pieces and be driving a bumperless mad max vehicle before i knew what went wrong

    Thank you from a northern neighbor! I’d only seen the full bumper removal! Again, thanks. I can now fix it before the snow!

    Awesome video! On my 2013 I can get to all the bulbs by removing the fender plastic liner in the wheel wells. But my driver's side headlight will stick on brights. So I have to hop out an pound on assembly & can see if changing back to dim. I posted on 5th Gen Ford explorer page on FB about how to fix it without having to buy a whole new assembly. & A guy commented that he had the same problem so he took the assembly out & drilled a small hole where the solenoid is at & sprayed wd40 on it an sealed the hole back up. He said that was 7 years ago & the lens doesn't stick on high beam anymore. Sooo I'm going to give that a try.

    If I only need to replace my passenger headlight because it got cracked can I just do one side or do I need to do it to both sides just to get it all to pop out enough to get access to the housing?

    Is the hid, much brighter then the led bulbs??

    • @bigmann120
      @bigmann120  Год назад +1

      Not really. I find the LED light a bit brighter and more reliable. I switched because of cost. HID bulbs were expensive at $119 each and only lasted 2 years.

    Why ford make changing light bulbs so hard

    PI SUV is (unfortunately) a little different. 3 bolts holding the cop car bumper to the side fenders. Not a pop out. And the removal is tight, behind the wheel well bezel. Some take the wheels off. But after those 3 bolts- same as your video. Bumper hangs same.
    Thank you for your video, cuts time in half.
