    Great video...
Shows you don't need to be high tech!
Now.... how about the difference between Hard & Soft determinism, Compatibilism and Liberitarianism? Would love your simple explanation on the difference? Thanks.

Hard determinism is the belief that determinism is true and that therefore we don't have free will.
Soft determinism is the belief that determinism is true but still we have free will. The important thing to note is determinism means exactly the same thing in "soft" and "hard" determinism. It's not the definition of determinism is changing. Really it's the definition of free will which changes.
Soft determinists are a sub set of compatibilists. Both believe free will is compatible with determinism. Soft determinists add the belief that determinism is true.
Libertarianism is that free will is incompatible with determinism, that we have free will and therefore determinism is false.

I know this is an old video but free will =/= moral responsibility. hard determinism doesn't require us to throw out all normative ethics. looking at just one: utilitarianism leaves the door open for the existence or nonexistence of free will. if you fall asleep drunk at the wheel and crash killing multiple people a utilitarian would argue you are still responsible for the consequences of your actions regardless of the fact your intent was to drive home fully awake without killing anyone. there are similar arguments for deontological and virtue ethics as well. were not required to throw our the ethical bathwater just because were ditching the free will baby.
