(something is affecting his lateral movements at the back, maybe legs injury or protection I remember He was used to wear knee support) If He's less confident playing at the back a good idea could be to let him control the front (He got the experience for it and if He wants to He can become the next Hiroyuki Endo). It's okay, he and TWK is amazing during rio Olympic, that was their 1st final as pair i dare to say that GVS and TWK had a better chance winning the gold than DLCW at that time.
