When I was a mechanic in the marines I got that a lot too lol. Worst was the time I got sent to fix a humvee that broke down during a field op. I ended up getting chewed out for an hour because it turned out one of the grunts tried to refuel it with water.

That old DShK is probably one of the first ones America got and studied, hence why it's taken apart and scattered. We usually had quite a few facilities of a bunch of foreign junk completely off the record for a reason

It comes off like the Army version of Regular Show. Two privets are fooling around with a MK19, they read the manual, then ignore that is says "don't use CLP." and do it anyway, then when it melts on them they take it to Zach like he's Skips to "fix it" and he tells them "you used CLP didn't you? No I can't fix it." Sadly we never saw the crazy adventure the privets had when Zach tossed them out of the armory.
The two have to go raid the MK19 manufacturer before the SL finds out what happened to the MK19
"mordecai and rigby that was the only mk 19 we had and we cant get a new one for the next few months you better find a way to fix this OR YOUR FIRED!!"
Then the two get into a bowling rock off shooting competition involving grenades in some far away town or have to box an army of chupacabras or race God six times around the base while dodging tennis balls. All in order to get a new one because for whatever reason the supplier requires this random absurdity in order to get another one. Only to find out that a new shipment arrived with a replacement.

I got to shoot the mk19 when I first got to the fleet. It was really fun. They gave me as a 20 year old a belt of HE and told me to go at it
Imagine being 20yo and being told to fire away a belt of grenades from a big fucking machine gun...
I missed out on skipping military, we had no fun stuff like this in Poland but there would likely still be fun moments like that.
@@mareczek00713 On my service when i got to shoot with lmg we had to load our belts with every third with tracer round.
But because i was last on that days training and somebody clearly ordered bit too many cases of traced rounds.
So i got to shoot two belts.
First belt whit every second round was tracer. And second belt loaded only with tracers...
It was winter evening so it was getting dark.
Story in short: There was quite little need to use actuall sights.
It was pretty much like spanking those steel targets with flaming whip on night time.
That poor bastard who had to clean that gun afterwards....

Zach bru i was a mechanic and did handle alot of weapon maintenance.
The shit that soldiers will put their gear and vehicle through is absolutely fucking amazing.
Have taken of a tire using a 4.5m long steel signpost as leverage in order to take of the bolts to a wheel, Because the soldier in charge of this vehicle used a tool which i banned them from using because he "Wanted to make sure the wheel didnt fall of". He also noted quite calmly that the car wobbled a bit when driving. Because the rims were more crooked than my back was after getting the fucking tires of.
What happened to the lizard that used the tool you told him not to?
Imagine going through and finding a belt of old Soviet made 12.7x108mm ammunition or better yet, a grunt on the range trying to figure out why his M2 won't feed.

just like LSAT, citadel paint's white paint (Corax White) splits into two components, those being the forbidden milk and what looks like liquid lead.

Had a 1SG chew me out because his troops decided put clp on the rounds of an M2A1 and I couldn't fix the catastrophic malfunction. Split down the receiver perpendicular to the rivots by the Cam screw.

@@Hellhound23691 yeah he was fine they did a blood sweep and he was ok. The unit got it in their heads that if a weapon malfunctions its be we (the 91Fs) didn't service it properly. The thing whole Kefluffle got kicked up all the way to the brigade. They had a whole meeting about it, in the end no one got in trouble. And apparently no one leaned any lesson cause the same unit had the same thing happen again 5 months later. That time they stuck the blame on "bad ammo batch".

Huh, the Mk19 is apparently the weapon the Auto Grenade Launcher in Fallout 76 is based on. Except it's inexplicably carried like a minigun.
Im suprised there hasnt been an M2 modified for use as a heavy weapon in fallout yet tbh

Had to have been the CLP that caught fire, 10w works perfectly fine on weapons that get way hotter than a Mk19
Regardless of the industry or military, they will always be understaffed, overstretched, and piling work on people that have no need to be doing what they want you to do 🙃

The only time I use CLP is for the P. It's what I hose my guns I'm not shooting for awhile in before putting them away.
To be entirely honest if I was in the military and there was a pile of DShK parts chilling that had no paperwork on them I'd be pulling a "one piece at a time" Johnny Cash move with that sucker.
Mk19s were new when I was in so never saw one. Did get an M2 that tankers has split the trunnion on.
Interesting as the MK19 predates the moon landing.

In chechnya a DShK 12.7 was the worst thing that you could come across. chechen would lay an ambush with 2 DShK and a ZU-23 AD, i heard stories of people getting ambushed in the forests and they said it would be dead silent and then sound like a swarm of bees around you, then before you knew it you saw tree trunks exploding around you after they got hit by 12.7MM and 23X152MM, all you could do was hit the ground and wait till they ran out of ammunition or wait till their barrels overheated if there wasn't a Kamov in the area. They also really liked to put them in buildings and hunting blinds in the beginning.

The truck at the intro is an LVS, they suck, so they added an extra axle and better hydraulics…introducing the LVSR
I also don't like the Mk19 but for a different reason. Mainly because our arms room guy was a fucking idiot who didn't maintain things above operator level (had issues with .50s and 249s for the same reason). So every time it was fired, the damn thing would lock up and either have a failure to feed, failure to eject, or failure to fire at random between every 3-8 rounds.

If you put water into some machining lubricant it also looks like jizz. The lathe guy at our work does this and we call it his milk "la leche del tornero"

To be fair, the manual clearly states not to use CLP on it because it will catch fire. The operator used CLP on it and it caught fire.
