Converting your shop to festool. That sounds fun. I enjoy their stuff but not that much. I just bought the kapex and set it up. It’s nice. I’ve had a dewalt slider but now that’s just for installs. Good luck with your festool transition. Just curious what tools did you start with?
My partner has this table, I use it daily, very good tutorial video, one objection I have to this table is that the legs should be canted at more of an angle, and the legs should have tension brackets , otherwise a great system
I just put one together. The receiving side opposite the hinge side doesn’t line up perfectly with the rail notch. I have to push it over about 3/8”. What and I doing wrong?
Thanks for the video. Festool International skipped that step about re-zeroing the protractor. I just purchased the mft3 and was having a difficult time as the manual is lacking when it comes to english and the translator for German made video on international video from RUclips hard to follow. Are there any addons you would suggest? I did get two sys-mft-fx sets. They are discontinued and the dealer has one more set. I will be building cabinets and doing other woodworking projects and hope this table will make that go smoother as I purchased two mfts the basic and the mft with saw rail so I can use my TS55 saw and domino 500. Again nice video and thanks for taking your time to do it.
I find this 'standard' method of squaring the table not ideal. I think it's way better to align rail and fence on the hole pattern, using dogs. This latter method open up other possibilities using the hole pattern. Getting these extra accessories is however yet again an investment to make...
Thanks for the informative video! Bit in all honesty I think it is ridiculous at which price they sell this thing! In Germany it is 699€ which should be 750 Dollars... For 4 extruded aluminium Profiles, 4 Leg attachments, 4 cheap tubes as legs and some board with pre drilled holes on the top... Should be like 199$ - that be justified!
When the rail is lowered and resting on the tab that fits inside the rail, there is play. Some company makes a plastic piece to go on the tab, to eliminate the play and hence give you square cuts, but I could never figure out why it has play to begin with. Can anyone explain?
Manufacturing quality. There are companies that make after-market replacements for both the hinge and the tab part, which are of much superior quality.
@@AndersonPlywood Well unless you choose to align both the saw track and the miter gauge guide rail to the precision hole layout. Then the holes are for more than just clamping. Then the holes are also for precision alignment.

It sounds like you have every thing you need. ( But you can Never have enough claps LOL !!! )

now you don't know if its square with the holes
Your not trying to square to the holes. If there were no holes you can still square up the MFT. The holes are for clamping.
