Jump spam midair strafe with the inconsistent hit reg and broken net code makes this game feel cheap and dated. The player base has significantly dropped recently mainly due to the fact the game is boring.

I think it's because the game is broken more than it being boring. If the game was solid Id still be playing it cause in all FPS there's a limited amount of things to do which in turn would make them all boring. But if the hit reg, spam jumping, being hit clearly 3 and 4 steps behind walls ie net code was better I'd still be playing with consistency. But it's just frustrating to play and be laughing/frustrated at the screen to click and see your the top player on your team is crazy. I'm like if I feel like this and I'm doing well according to the stats what do these other players feel like. Hence 12 million people played it and 11 million walked away.
You're out of touch for a couple of reasons.
1. It's not a skill gap, it's an input gap. These movement mechanics are abused by people with controllers with back buttons. The majority of controller players are using standard controllers. That makes it an uneven playing field. You cannot do all this effectively with a standard controller.
2. This games whole identity and marketing was based on being like an old school cod. That brought the players in and then they have this movement shit that is abused by only players with non standard controllers and it makes it feel nothing like an old cod. I watched your clips and your whole strategy is based on jumping around. If it was taken away from you, you wouldn't be so good. So your controller literally is giving you advantage. You act like it's not that overpowered yet you never stop jumping. Obviously you know it's broken otherwise you wouldn't abuse it so much
Spot on, I'm so tired of players like JB saying they're better because they have paddles on their gamepad.
I'm not going to give myself arthritis to learn, Claw, and playing video games isn't my job, so I'm not going to waste such a frivolous amount of money on a custom controller.
I don't mind movement tech like what we've seen in something like Titanfall 2, but bunny hopping is a no-skill option for people with paddles.
I use mouse and keyboard 🤦♂️ also there are plenty of button layouts that don’t force you to bend your hands backwards to jump, thats what I did back in the day as well to give an advantage, and it requires no strain whatsoever. That’s not an excuse in my opinion, but to each his own.

How is it that you yourself has also agreed that the jump nerf should be lowered to 2 jumps and then bash other people for saying they don’t like the jump spam 😂. No one said “people in gun fights need to stand still” like you kept saying the entire video. People just don’t like the extreme abuse of movement with the constant jumping while it’s paired with the instant air strafing. I wouldn’t even mind jumping if it wasn’t so ridiculous with the lack of momentum physics when in the air
Because nerfing it to 2 jumps instead of 3 will make it more of a skill gap for experienced players, more thoughtful and less spammy, without overall removing the movement from the game. That has nothing to do with wanting air strafing removed + completely removing jumping all together.

I think theres hacks for this or something cuz I've played people that SPAMMMM TFFFF outta crouch and dont get a penalty. Like the snipers that never flinch somehow.

It killed the game for me so i stopped playing. Im aware its a skill issue on my behalf but i dont have the desire to keep up with the 10 yr olds that run fps games in 2024. I went back to Battlefield, and so far loving delta force. Xdefiant isnt even on my radar anymore, its over.
I’m probably in the same boat these people play the game like it’s a job, I have job already I just want to play for fun lol guess I’m just too old for this.

Every game has its exploitable BS its unavoidable this day and age, either take advantage or leave it be is how I see it.
The bunny hopping is just terrible, almost two months after release and all that left are players that jump spamming like crazy , while it's might be a skill issue on my side...this is a skill I don't wanna practice at all, this + the air strafe just gives me the chills now. I really hope the devs are reading the comments, cause it's seems most people here agree on this. It's just got to the point where it's not fun.
I kinda believe that problem here is very different, I mean... Titanfall 2 has much more advanced movement yet people still love it, the movement itself is not the issue, it is implementation of it that sucks in xdefiant and people cannot formulate it properly (this is one of the reasons why I say, that you should never listen to the community, they are often struggling with formulating their opinion properly), xdefiant movement feels bad, it is not fluid, it is not smooth, characters feel and looks like a cranked up on a speed plastic toy, now compare it to titanfall 2 or APEX legends, it feels much better, people here is basically can see that it sucks but cannot put a finger on why it sucks so they suggest to nerf it (mid air strafing really should not be in the game though), what they basically should do is to make movement feel smooth... or maybe I can say "natural", without needless twitchings that current player controller is just full of.

@@cardinalwilson8034 they are likely not, it is the Xdefiant’s general issue: shitty movement, it just feels bad and looks bad and these people, are able to formulate that, it typically stems from lack of gaming experience in terms of project diversity, I am willing to bet that the only arcade shooter these people played was CoD, so it isn’t surprising why they aren’t able to form a coherent feedback.

Not fluid or smooth? It’s one of the most fluid games we’ve had in a long time. Whenever I go back to other shooters after being on xDefiant for awhile I always have to readjust to how stiff every other shooter is. That’s definitely not it. I believe people just can’t aim and want something else to blame than themselves. I know the netcode can suck sometimes but even that isn’t an excuse to how bad most players are these days. No body has any integrity anymore.

Xdefiant is literally the stiffest Cod like shooter out there, MW3, Titanfall 2, BOCW, Gears of War, MW19 just to name a few has far more fluid and in some of these cases more advanced movement, but nobody complain about that, people just just accept movement in these games, why? Cos it feels good and it looks good, not the case with XDefiant, in this game movement is clunky, but in order to make it fast these incompetent devs decided just to crank up speed, that's why it feel like shit, if you can't do something and you are on a big project, either ask someone more experienced or don't do it at all.
You admit that the net code needs work and at the same time say that bunny hopping doesn't affect the hit registration. I have encountered many times with a shotgun at close range where I am really close to the enemy dead locked on them and then they jump. I pull the trigger and no hit marker sometimes. So the bunny hopping is somewhat affecting hit registration alongside the bad netcode
i agree that its dumb that bunny hopping is a problem but it is, and a LOT of people dont like it. and the game is losing a lot of casual players because of it. which is eventually going kill the player base which i dont want to see, i personally try not to air strafe and bunny hop and crouch spam against players that arent doing it to me, and its simply because ive noticed that people tend to back out of matches when i do it when they arent. i still do just as good with it as without it, really the only time i need it is when someone else is doing it. i will say this, for those not on a scuf controller, the only way to be able to air strafe and bunny hop and crouch spam as efficiently as someone on one or on keyboard and mouse (which i personally dont like using and can understand why a lot of people dont use them) is to remap your button layout. which is a pain to get use to and there are very very few if any casuals out there that will be willing to go through that, and on top of that scuf's arent cheap. so keeping bunny hopping and crouch spaming and air strafing the way it is, is basically telling the community they either need to relearn a new button layout in order to be competitive in sweaty games which will make a lot of people not play, or purchase an expensive controller and still have to relearn the button layout which again will still make a lot of people not play the game. i dont want to see people leave the game. i want to see xdefiant grow, i think we can almost all agree on that. and the community is starting to get smaller as time goes on because of things like this among other things as well such as hit reg and net code the list goes on.

I totally agree with those people, and i truly can't grasp why you dont understand that bunny hopping is ruining the game, for most people. It does effect the flow of the game, and it is the biggest reason i leave the game, most of the time.
And about the aim...yes, jumping totally messes with the aim assist, like 70% of the time, good luck if you try and stay on target :)

Jumping is apart of the game. If you can hit someone maybe 2 feet in the air, yall must’ve been trash at the old futuristic cod where players could literally jump on TOP of some buildings. Nowadays people think they are good laying down in the back like a dead roach(except you can’t do that in XDefiant because the game ENCOURAGES MOVEMENT).
My only complaint with the movement in this game is I can be having a gun fight with someone that's air strafing side to side, when they're in the peak of their jump my aim kind of b-lines straight to their groin and stays there, it's like RAA having a fight with an attachment
I disagree with u respectfully on this take its an extremely annoying tactic as someone who just wants to have fun because its a casual game not a sweatfest which was one of the main reasons i quit the cod franchise. This is honestly such an elitist and L opinion. I have a 2.6 KD, 600 spm, and 3200 skill rating all on MKB. I play a mix of solo and in a party. I probably dump on 99% of players out there and I HATE air strafing. It's not hard to counter since I just anticipate it and track the enemy going for it since it usually screws up their aim too. It's not a mechanic that should be in the game. If a sweat like me hates it, imagine how casuals feel when they end up dying to it. Every time I kill someone with this air strafing, there's a 50 percent chance they end up leaving the game.
Do I do it when I face good opposition? Yeah. Do I want to do it? No. It's not hard to crouch slide one direction and then air strafe another. You can call it a 'skill gap', but it took me a grand total of 1 game to figure out how to do it and abuse the hitbox desync.
It looks really stupid and doesn't feel like it fits in the game. You should be able to jump to improve your mobility, but you should also be locked in a direction to make it fair for the other person like every other shooter out there.
I think theres the skill gap people that just cant hit moving targets... then theres people frustrated with bullets not registering on constant jumping targets even when you're center mass. Its like the constant jumping magically lets them matrix bullets. Also I've noticed there seems to be a movement difference between console and pc players. Seems pc players have a lot more freedom, jump higher, change multiple directions while in air, etc. But for all I know the people that I'm talking about are running mods or macros, who knows. In the end i still love the game

The problem with that is that most of the time I hit the target only for my bullets to go to the Shadow Realm and the enemy turns around and shoots me. I mean I know he is a fan of this game but saying this is not funny its just plain stupid.

When one jumps in front of you the aim assist get lost between legs (leg hitbox is very small). Try to do that change of input and play ranked solo.
They think this is bad, wait till cod players start abusing omni movement. I think that will be way worse than air strafing.

It was a good break from cod but since ncaa 25 came out most ppl left. Madden drops tmrw, that's another large chunk. Bo6 beta for 2 weeks coming up, then u got undisputed, nba 2k, bo6 early access, bo6 and delta force. This game is already forgotten

Why would I change my opinion because others disagree with it? It’s not like we are talking about anything factual, this whole topic is all opinion based no matter how you address it.
Going back and playing a little MW3, the players there hop, go prone, spam crouch, it is not only in XDefiant, I actually like the movement in XDefiant a lot. My only major issue is they should have had 4 new maps at beginning of season 1 for non-linear game modes like TDM, Dom, etc. Also, saying Bomb was coming S1 and nothing mentioned about it since, a big issue.
The issue is the netcode, hit reg, ping, sloppy movements, terrible aim assist, etc. It's easier to hit someone in COD spamming that stuff, than it is in XDF for most players. Problem is it's not all the time. XDF is very inconsistent. Some days it's better and some days it's worse. That would go under NETCODE issue, that people blame on air strafing.

I'm sticking with XDefiant because I like the game. My issue with the XDefiant is there's a lot of players using Mods & Hacks to fill the skill gaps. It's obvious and let's keep it 💯 there's a ton of cheaters ruining XDefiant and other FPS games as well. After playing these games for so many years. You understand what's possible and impossible when it comes to game movement. I Love your channel Man!
The MFs stop and fire like fps gods. I tested a few level 20s last night. Didn't shoot back just kept peeking out, rechallenging with the squirreliest movement I could think of. They didn't miss and knew I was gonna peek back out 🤔

So let me be honest I can't spam crouch, bunny hop, or drop shot in any game. I've always been fine knowing there is a skill gap. However I also learned to be better at what I'm good at to level the playing field. Map awareness, gun up around corners, jumping from cover, breaking line of sight to emerge from another angle, faster react time, accuracy, flanking, faking going a different direction, high sensitivity speed. It works for me and I don't have to learn something I'm not good at. So I do well I'm top of leader boards most times and I have fun. People now just complain about everything.
Air strafing and jumping are fine. The hitboxes are definitely questionable, but that's it.
It's crazy how cod has jump spamming as well but no one complains about that. Now it's a problem in a much faster paced game where movement actually matters

The only reason the movement gets griped about is because it throws off hit reg with crouch and b-hop spam.
Another problem that DOESNT get griped about is impact with your team mates and them boxing you out when you're taking fire and you die because they're another wall. 😂

Just my take. I understand the game needs movement and I dont mind the idea of jumping to make yourself hard to hit. COD had the same thing and drop shotting included which is true. However, if they drop shot and you know they were going to you aimed down. If they jumped you know they are going to jump and prepare for that. For some reason when you jump in XDefiant 3 things happen which seems to be pissing people off.
1 - The hitbox gets distorted and screwed up. Not every time but its frequent enough in a match you say its broken.
2 - While you could jump in old FPS games you did not jump as high. Which in XDefiant you do go up a significant amount off the ground when your engaged.
3 - I dont recall being able to aim and shoot when I jumped in older cods it was all hip fire which added risk to your movement,so part of that may be retaining accuracy as they jump in XDefiant at no penalty since they can crouch to and jump to refresh the negative de buff they get for spamming it.
By no means complaining just observation. If people are cray in a match jumping around I run spiderbot or firebomb and just deal with them that way or take long range fights. I love the game. I want it to succeed , just like CODMWS2 I will practice and get those nukes and drop them as I get better at the game. Other games have movement speed up the rear and XDefiant gets to have movement too. The issue to me anyways is there is no risk for doing it. Halo you jumped so high you could get shot across the map for jumping all the time. COD if I remember you could only hip fire or not shoot at all. Modern games like TitanFall, Overwatch and Apex allow you to aim and shoot but the movement is so fast you have to be good at your shots so your penalty is speed you have to compensate for.
TLDR: Love the game it does not penalize users who use the movement to its fullest and because the games movement is not as modernized as other games it should not come without risk. The mechanic is also good to be in the game ,but it needs to feel fair and without kill cams or a penalty it feels unfair to the players who complain about it. I complain but I simply tell myself to get better or switch up my strategy on engagement.

The difference between drop shotting and doing a jump is wayyyy different than jumping and being able to straife mid air. To add that in to a comparable feeling to MW2 2022 its just not good. If the character moving around the map didn’t feel so clunky
I've never played much of cod or battlefield, I was pretty much a valorant/cs:go guy, and when I came in Xdefiant I really enjoyed the game, until I played against the so called "high-skill level players", man it was just embarrassing when I was in a gun fight with someone and we were both jumping like fucking bunnies, I always laugh when this shit happens because I just think its sad, and maybe its because I'm not used to it, in cs if u jump in middle of a gun fight, u are cooked, u wont hit ur bullets man, and that makes so much SENSE to me, I'll still play the game, maybe continue to play ranked in season 2, idk, but jump spam is really atrocious in this game
XD movement is nothing crazy be fr it’s a worse apex legends with terrible hit reg combined with the air strafing that is pissing people off idk how that’s hard to understand
people are saying they need knock bunny hopping down some because no fright goes 4 hops. their should small sway at second jump and bigger at 3rd jump. If they don't fix it they lose more and more casual than don't complain when the game dies out.

Was probably my comment? I complained about the loading times, and if you back out of a lobby it takes forever to go back to the main menu. Loading is terrible in XDF. I'd rather play a game than sit there looking at a black loading screen that doesn't even work properly. This isn't PS1.

Jokes aside, I feel you and Blametruth on all aspects of this game. I've played FPS games since Halo 3 and COD 4, I absolutely love Xdefiant and think that the potential is amazing. COD will always be a yearly game that I play, but I hate the yearly cycle. It is time to have it account bound system if they want to include SBMM and just cycle the MP/Warzone yearly addition for free. I wish it could go back to map pack times instead of seasons personally.

Any player who claims to have a lot of experience with FPS games but the movement in this game pisses them off... their experience must be pretty narrow imo lol. I think about Titanfall 1 & 2 and learning that game's movement. I think about Splitgate and shooting portals everywhere to avoid getting killed. I think about the crazy stuff you can do in Unreal Tournament and (showing my age a little bit) QUAKE using rockets to boost across the maps.
The time to kill along with the movement options in the game gives players a fighting chance to retaliate when another player gets the drop. That's when reaction time and skill matters. Landing your shots matter more, and while players complain about the movement the opponent also gotta hit their shots while doing all this movement 🤣🤣
I believe players are just used to the super fast TTK in CoD. Unless they are playing Warzone, there's zero need to improve tracking (along with the strong aim assist).

I’ve seen so much complaining about a new game that has been out 2 months.
The game just dropped. The content will come. The netcode will get better over time(I’ve haven’t had too much of an issue cause I’m an above average fps gamer).
There IS a skill gap in this game unlike COD where you can literally NOT MOVE and get rewarded.
In XDefiant, if you can SOMEWHAT master its movement, you will be better at the game. Problem is people don’t want to adapt.

Anyone who's still complaining about movement needs to find another game to play. It takes a no time at all to learn, especially for those of us who spent a little money to get a controller to make it super east. I'm happy these people are still around cause it means I've still got plenty of bad players to kill every game.

I think it’s mostly people who have one play style who complain. If people jump too much I back off and use a longer gun (like you said). If people are staying back and sniping I grab a quicker gun and flank. You have to counter your opponents play style. If you are playing against top tier movement monsters don’t just keep running to your death. Stop putting the square peg in the round hole.
People don’t like when people are better than them. It’s the same crap every time from the bots. They get dunked on. Find something else to blame instead of their skill. And proceed to beg for nerfs. Then, when the thing they wanted nerfed gets nerfed. They find something else to complain about because low and behold. They still suck as a player and the nerf doesn’t affect the good players because good players adapt to changes. Then the bot leaves and playercount falls off until the next big thing drops. Rinse and repeat.
The problem with the movement on XD is that everyone can’t air strafe (console players) the way that pc can (you can but only in one direction, can’t go the other way without losing momentum or automatically touching the ground and it’s not fps based either, I’ll send the link later for evidence of that) which is weird to me….Apex isn’t the best example for no one complaining about movement (everyone that’s not KBM players or Octane and somewhat Horizon mains complain about tap strafing despite the fact that consoles don’t play KBM, only pc controllers) also the game has almost horrible hit reg issues (no regs man😒)… To go back to the movement thing, EVERYONE could do those things you see in the jetpack CoDs or Titanfall, it wasn’t dedicated to one platform or one input

All multiplayer games are sweaty. Tbh, your main concern should be 4-6-man parties rather than movement mechanics. Also, maybe stop rushing everywhere and take the game slow if the movement is a problem. I faced someone who went 22-0 and won the game just by staying back and picking off the sweats. Maybe focus on accuracy before movement.
we need to see those guys on games like sandstorm with no movment, im pretty sure they would get whooped. However i do think air strafe speed is still a bit too fast but thats a skill issue i guess, dont have this issue when i go back to my controller
Jump spamming is annoying no matter what game it is and also hit reg and netcode is still a problem. Countless times I’ve shot someone 7-10 times just for them to flick kill me with one or two shots

I don't jump I don't strafe jump yet I can do top3 pretty much consistent having k/d easy above 2.0 if you need jump or strafe jump to win gunfight then... We'll need to improve ,It's just the way to mitigate the lack of skill in other areas . Controversial? Maybe but it's my take about foolish jumping tactics that at least for me aren't something that is make oponent benefit at all

The jump/crouch spamming is inevitable with these kind of shooters. The reason no one complains about it in other games that have a focus on movement is because of just that, they have a focus on movement. Titanfall 2, black ops 3, apex all have a focus on movement (though apex is bottom of the barrel movement imo), so you can argue that there is a level of skill needed to really get going in those games. You know what your signing up for and what your getting. With xdefiant, the movement is boots on the ground, so when you lose majority of your gunfights to someone hopping around like a kid with ADHD its pretty annoying, especially when you realize this style of play is brain dead af and takes no skill outside of using macros or using the elite controllers with back paddles. The only option is to become a jumping bean yourself otherwise you wont get far, and wont have fun. Again, those other games have a focus on movement as a skill factor, so when i get wrecked by someone in titanfall 2 because they outmaneuvered me, i can say "wow, that guy is nasty". When someone "outmaneuvers" me in Xdefiant, all i say is "wow, thats annoying". Keep in mind this is coming from what i believe to be my casual viewpoint, so my understanding could be off and im open to that, but having played all the previously mentioned games, thats the observation i can make. I know i suck at shooters in general, however, im primarily trying to make a case as to why people complain about the meta play style of xdefiant yet dont complain about movement in movement based shooters. TLDR: movement shooters use movement as a skill, xdefiant uses it as a cheap way to win or get high KD.

Your actually wrong about people spamming lean in siege. That hasn’t been a thing for years and Ubisoft have slowed the movement down so much that’s not even viable anymore. Now siege just has a hacker problem as it’s main problem.

It has been like this always though! I have to say though, man titan fall looked cool. I was one of the ones that REALLY enjoyed the movement CoDs... Infinite warfare was so good, but the whiners had been on it for several years at that point, so no one gave it a chance! And I will be first to admit, advanced movement like that, that takes more skill, and it takes more time to master it - but put that time in, and goddamn it is funny! And I was already my late thirties at that time, so I don't want to hear the age argument from 22 year olds that is now "grown up and slow"
I’m not good at XDefiant by any means, but this sounds like a them issue not a game issue. Some of you would be better off playing checkers against a 5year old then play any fps game that takes skill.
I really try to enjoy xdefiant and I do and I've defended the game as a wip with potential plenty of times but with that said there are plenty of issues.

I've gotta say this game is too fast paced for its own good. I've always said this. If they wanna have a ridiculous strafe/sprint/jump/crouch speed then they need to have players heal more quickly. I always bitch about they want a fast paced fucking game but you gotta sit there for 25 seconds to heal everytime. I can pop cells and Batts in apex faster than we heal in xdefiant. Nonetheless it doesn't stop me from playing the game. I abuse the movement too. That's about my only bitch besides the horrific getting shot around walls.
I don’t understand when people say the net code is bad , I don’t have a problem , maybe 1 out of 10 games I have a net code issue, which I’m fine with especially when it’s a brand new net code, I’ll take it all day over cod and playing 80 ping every game against optic scumpii
