Well the spawn is on! Shallow fishing is here, but the bigs are still out deep for the most part. A lot of fish can be caught right now in the 1-3ft range, back in the creeks and in shallow flats.
Most of the bigger fish however are being caught are in the 5-10ft range. Been throwing mostly swimbaits and creature baits right now, and spinner baits with no trailer have been working too. Cranking has been working good on more rocky bottom/gravel beds in the 3-5ft range. The jig bite has been producing but not as well as smaller form stick baits like worms and craws. I have seen an uptick in top-water action, but haven't tested the waters on that yet. Might have to throw on some top-water baits these next couple weeks and give it a go. On a side note, crappie fishing has been really good back in the coves, and if you find a good pile you can catch a limit within an hour easily! That's all for now guys, lets hear what's working for you. Stay tuned for more Beaver Lake Fishing Reports, and Tight Lines!
