Best Pressing of Roger Waters Amused to Death? ‘92 OG Vs 2015 Analogue Productions & 5.1 Blu-Ray

In 1992 Roger Waters made his best solo album; Amused To Death. In 2015 a new mix was made and got a release on blu-ray audio and on audiophile vinyl by Analogue Productions. What is the best version of this album?

Thanks for the review. Interesting to get different perspectives. Incidentally after asking for this review, I also found Michael Fremer’s review to see if he compared them. And he did. But he said he far preferred the Analogue Productions version which is interesting. But also interesting that he initially didn’t know it wasn’t cut from tape, but rather a hi-res file so maybe that would have influenced his opinion.

I only have this on CD and the BluRay audio version. It’s by far my favourite solo Floyd release … better even than some of the bands albums, imo. When I played the BluRay version I was stunned as to how fabulous it sounded even though there are the differences between it and the original CD which I still love.

One thing you got wrong in your video is HAL9000 is not in the original release of Amused To Death. It’s a secret message in reverse of Roger Waters to Stanley Kubrick which was a tongue in cheek jab at Kubrick for refusing to let Waters use the sample from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Are there only tracks in 5.1 format on the blu ray, or tracks in stereo format + tracks in 5.1?

Ze zijn alle 3 goed maar ik ga voor de 5.1 niet duur en supersound. Maar volgens jou rederering kan je alle remasters van The Beatles bij grof vuil zetten want daar is ook bij het leven aan geremixst

Dat is niet mijn redenatie. The Beatles bevatten geen nieuwe geluiden en ik vind niet dat je de nieuwe versie van Amused To Death bij het grofvuil moet zetten (ik ben zelfs vrij enthusiast).
