We've done the bourbon trail several times. Downtown Bardstown is very nice and some good restaurants and wonderful bourbon tours. We also went to Versailles and visited Wild Turkey.
very nice... a few years back I visited a couple of small towns en route to mammoth cave and Atlanta on a road trip, it was so enchanting to see old towns preserving the heritage. They are still fresh in my mind even after coming back to India.
interesting fact about Bloomfield ky, linda Bruckheimer the wife of jerry Bruckheimer (famous movie producer) owns most of the down town ,, They own a home on some farmland just outside of the town as you head north towards taylorsville.
I was only there for about 45 minutes but it certainly is a cool little town. Even played golf nearby at the state park and met a wonderful couple. Plan to go back sooner than later!

We ate at a restaurant that was an old jailhouse in Bardstown. Can't remember the name of it.

Kentucky is portrayed as poor hilly billy's to keep people from seeing how nice it is and to not draw attention to the mudflood buildings lol
