Assuming you mean the XG17AHP(E), I think that was a better monitor than this is, unless you really only care about the size of it. These two monitors have very different intended purposes though.
my wife and me travel the world with our normal dell 24" monitors, we wrap them up in a blanket together like a sandwich and have been successfully carrying them everywhere for years now. am looking for lighter options now so this is interesting....
I have the 15.6in zenscreen (with touch and battery). it's awesome, but the 15.6 lacks the stands, and that cable jutting out from the side can cause issues trying to position it. It's also a THunderbold/PD capable cable so the head is a tad longer. do wish it would have the option of a 90degrees angled usb cable so that it does not get snagged easily
I wouldn't have made a comment about the pass thru charging without testing it. With a weak charging connection, the battery could still drain instead of charging.
Ben can You check some RTX hardware (pc or laptop) to have "gsync compatibility" when this monitor is plug in? Since is adaptive sync and freesync so after plugged it should be option in Nvidia panel to check that compability with gsync but I need to be sure and there is no info on net. Thank You so much for that.
It only mirrors with my ipad pro 11 - and it won't fill the whole screen unless you're streaming video - at which point it is only displaying on the Asus screen, and only displays the controls on the ipad - also works with the ipad mini 6th gen - confirmed with some research that you can only mirror your ipad - the ipads cannot use an external display as a secondary screen.
It's unacceptable. Anything is better than 1920x1080. That's a 16-17" resolution at most, not for a 24" display in this day and age. It should have been at the very least 2560x1600 if not 4k.
No offense, but you could have shown videos on the display in full screen, instead all videos were narrower than display. Because of this, we could not get how immersive it is and the quality of the whole display.
I believe in this case "Portable" is referring to the form factor. With these retractable stands I could easily envision a slim, padded case to carry two of these and the associated gear.
Ok, we are almost there. Need this but with 240 Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time for gaming :D Would be nice if I could roll it up and put it in my backpack too. Give me a shout if any manufacturer will make that a thing ;)
To be frank with you, emphasizing how "huge" a 24" monitor is was quite funny. I mean... it's 24". We all know what that means. Having owned 40" and larger screens, how can I be impressed by that? I am also quite disappointed by the fact you did not mention it has the same screen resolution as 15" models. What's the point of a larger screen if it has the same resolution as the small one? How's that for "extra screen estate"?
Bro stfu. It is big for a portable monitor. Once you enter 20” and above, its alrdy entering to the normal size monitor. Hence calling it big for a PORTABLE is fine.
This display really stretches the definition of portability to the max. Sort of like how the old HP HDX 9000 laptop was 'portable' but not intended to be a device carried frequently. I see this 24" ZenScreen in the same way. Not something to take with you every day, only when you _really_ need the extra screen space such as a business meeting. The large size (made unnecessarily larger by its super-wide bezels), weight and external PSU make it very awkward. Another thing that's surprising considering the cost is the relatively low resolution of 1920x1080. Even my decade-old 24" Samsung LCD monitor has a 1920x1200 resolution. Come on Asus, you can do better than this.
WTF dude... I understand you wanna make money with you affiliate links but.... this product does not make ANY sense at all....and you should say that... How on Earth are you supposed to bring with you such a big monitor? Where are you going to pack it? And then you also have to deal with the power brick.... And it is that big and only HD? The only very remote reason for trying to deal with such an unportable portable monitor would be having a high res screen that's big enough to make any sense....
Dude, learn wtf Power Delivery (which is a USB C charging protocol), charger, and power adapter mean. If you don't know what you're talking about, say less - not more.
Me. I'm moving 200 lbs of photo and lighting equipment anyway. A big screen helps my prop stylist preview the image. I can see it being useful for a photo booth as well for those few clients without a big rolling TV onsite.
How hilarious was it him trying to make it look truly portable with that line "it fits under my arm" lmao.
Wow i think this is really an essential for digital nomad! Thanks for the detailed unboxing! :D Sub-ed!
Very informative and great to see how big this monitor really is
24 inch!!?! Perfect timing since I've just sold my XG17

I need this in QHD!!!

I guess it's useful if you're travelling with luggage and need to setup in your hotel/airbnb.
Thank you. It looks greet! Could you please indicate if this is a kind of monitor that has eye comfort features to protect your eyes?
Perfect size to carry to school in my pocket
😂
I wish it had pen support. It will be a great device for teachers.
Can it be powered with INIU 140W Power Bank 27000mAh (or similar) - I would like to power Apple M1 and this monitor with some power bank
It says has vesa mountable 100mm - you didn’t show how that works - can that round thing come off and just use vesa mountable?
Will get this for day trading while babysitting my toddlers in the living room
crazy monitor
well.. where is the link?
Is this monitor have build in speaker?
I need .. to.. pick up .. sewing
Decent review though. That's MUCH bigger than I'd imagined.

Will it connect and iPad Pro via USB-C as an extended monitor? Not touch but still useful if it works

Was about to order one until I noticed the round adapter at the back. Is that removable? I need a totally flat monitor
thats the mounting bracket, im assuming it comes off.
Is there a camera in the monitor?
Wish it were 4k resolution, touchscreen, and allowed stylus pen input. Maybe even bigger at 27" lol. But still somehow portable.

omg is it full hd with 24" screen in 2024? Really?
When will you publish your Asus Zenbook Pro 16x review? Thanks.
Completed filming last week. We are a little behind with editing, so most likely in a week or two.
@@BenGKaiser Ok, can't wait;)
21" might have been a better choice
If this was 1440p/120hz, it would be perfect for my use case. And of course OLED is nice but that’s just daydreaming lol.
Wheres the link to view price?
whats the adobe rgb coverage
seems like a coders dream when you are not at home
no protective carry case eh?
Does it work with Mac?
Is their a monitor like this that can be powered with a type c connection?
Not in this size. I have an 18.5 inch uperfect and that is powered by USB-C.
@@realMDizzy Cool. Thanks.

Would you recommend travelling with this in a checkin luggage :) ?
Dont ever do that bro. Dont listen to me, watch some video how airport employee treats Luggages...

Personal IMAX screen for bed bingewatching
😂
Can hook gaming system to this monitor?
Has HDMI port - so it can
It’s 75Hz
is there a protector for the screen when you move somewhere with it ?
How can someone call this portable???
The design makes it portable, not the size ;)
I believe in this case "Portable" is referring to the form factor. With these retractable stands I could easily envision a slim, padded case to carry two of these and the associated gear.
@@briankeeley6464 LOL, fair enough. Maybe the industry should create another term, such as 'transportable' or something to denote the difference.

That's quite big

Not even 100 refresh rate and just 1080 lol even not as a have I would feel ripped off.
I'd love to test this out on my Lenovo Legion 7i Pro
If it folded in the middle, then it would be portable.

Small resolution, and low luminosity :/
foldable?
This is what I’m looking for I’ll pull up on your house and flex
This might be suitable for some. But, it's too low resolution. It's nearly 2024. Full HD should be left in the dust.
Thats a tv!

Possibly the most rushed unboxing segment I've ever watched.
How is it portable if it doesn't even fit in a large bookbag lol.

Too thick, too low res.
