Hopefully they bring it in the future. Rank requirements for gym badges. You get ranked up by battling trainers. That way even if you spammed cheats for rare candies you would HAVE to battle trainers in order to build up your rank. I could get down with that 100%.

Pretty sure the combining move feature was why the anime got the infamous Thunder Armor sequence when Ash faced Liza & Tate! i doubt thats the reason. half of all kaiju collectors have recruiting mechanics. shin megami tensei is not their competition or their basis to turn to for creative decisions. they likely changed it because the direction they decided to go in was less about recruiting allies and more about capturing/taming animals.
Just picture it, had the whip gimmick actually gone through I don't think the series would have lasted too long, very controversial choice and I can only imagine the lawsuits for depiction of animal cruelty (which they've tried before funny enough) all I know is I would go near Rhyperior with a whip :x

I’ve been playing through my old Pokémon games these days ( heartgold atm) and let me tell you, we got to play some god damn good Pokémon games growing up. I didn’t appreciate the quality then, but I sure do now.
The idea of a charisma stats for the player is pretty cool. Like they could take inspiration from the Social Stats in the Persona franchise, where the stats of the player affect the wild Pokémon, like increase the chance of catching, increase the shiny rate, the item rate,... Yeah it may overlap with some items/abilities, but this makes the game much more immersive and make the character is also progress according to the state of the game, just the other RPGs.
In some Dragon Quest Monsters games they do exactly that. But it's not a visible stat most of the time merely a quest reward that you get told about when you get it and never talk about again. It does however increase your odds of recruiting monsters after beating them.
@@FTChomp9980 Because the BF is boring. It is nothing more than pure challenge with no story, character development nor anything interesting going on. And the time that would take to develop the BF could be used to create another side-quest instead.

13:35 actually, we know why the idea got scratched It's because of pokemon XD and pokemon Colosseum. They decided to change the event for 2 entire games :)
For gen 1 a couple misconceptions I want to clear up a little bit. I think the Inn is just for a world building purposes because it was a copy and pasted pokemon center. Then repurposed. If it were a remnant then it wouldn't have had the pc in the corner because it would have preceded pokemon centers. Professor Oak does seem to be the original last boss based on his dialogue. Main part I want to clear up though is tied to the unused encounter. Pokemon Yellow was supposed to be based on the anime. Which means the encounter probably would have been tied to running away from the Spearow with Pikachu like what happens in the anime. They probably scrapped it because it was too much work to go into that much detail so they toned down the anime references. I don't think you ever would have caught a pikachu because in the anime ash was just given the pikachu like all other starters. Great video though. =3
in the Dragon Quest Monsters games you don't use machines to capture monsters... they join you by CHOICE. to encourage this you can feed them in battle, and some monsters need a HUGE amount just to have any chance at all. But there are quest rewards in some of the games that up your odds.... and are applied as a passive stat buff to a stat you can't see.
Missing the alternative Floette. The one that belonged to AZ. There is code in the games for that variant. She has her unique stats and signature move.
I can't confirm this because I do not own the new BD/SP remakes but, if you have a completed Legends Arceus save on your switch and load up BD/SP, there's supposed to be the Arceus event that you mentioned earlier, where the trainer can battle and catch the Creation Pokemon.
Move combining and gender-specific sprites for all pokemon species are the features i want the most. I like the idea of "mirage pokemon" rather than "legendary" (there're too many legendaries, changed my mind). Battling pokemon by yourself is kind of neat too ; except i don't see a 10 y/o defeat a flying flamethrower, nor a seismic kaijuu, let alone a mouse-taser. . . Even with a whip

I think it would have been cool to bring the world Cup from gen 5 to gen 8. Imagine an animation similar to the beginning of sword/ shield, where the gym leaders walk out on to the field however in this version they are met with gym leaders from other regions walking towards them from the other side.
15:58 can you imagine actually holding on to that lock capsule, buying the next game, transferring the capsule, and all you got for your patience and mystery solving skills was a TM for Snarl 😂 I'm glad it was cut from the games
11:50 Pokémon Picross does exist as its own game, but from what i understand it is only for the 3DS. The down side is that it has micro-transactions and it heavily encourages you use them
Walking pokemon was cut from sun and moon cause gamefreak are bad developers and don't know how to properly format/distribute data in a game so they had much less room to work with than a competent developer would have had
Move combination was eventually added with the moves water pledge, fire pledge, and water pledge. It’s unfortunate that they are exclusive to the final evolutions of the starters.
For the first one, those are unfortunately likely glitch effects. The badges were originally going to be items and their names are leftover in the final games, but to my knowledge only these two have their functions remaining. I strongly believe these weren't their intended functions as not only can they do that while outside of battle (causing understandable graphical corruption), but why would a badge do that in the first place? And if they did, why wouldn't it be the Boulder Badge that lets you throw rocks? There are still interesting items though, most notably a (apparently pocket-sized) Lapras that allows you to use Surf without a badge, though sadly the name is dummied out in the final release and it appears as ?????.
I wish they would have kept the "cell phone" from Gold&Silver where you could get the phone number of defeated trainers and they would call you up and challenge you to rematches.
I was thinking about this, in the show, a pokemon can't be captured by somebody if it is already registered to somebody. So the pokemon is registered to it's pokeball which is Registered to the trainer. In the games, if you miss the pokemon you lose the pokeball. What if the Lost Pokeball was still registered to the trainer and a wild pokemon happen to find it? You would think the pokeball would have GPS tracking.
Yea the lost pokeballs have always been a problem I wish they would outright say that if a pokemon bursts put of a ball, then it destroys the ball they could even say the ball digitally erases itself so were not like ,"should I pick up the 60 pokeballs I threw at this zapdos or just litter?"
@HoopsandHipHop 1:07 Gym Badges were never used to be usable items. The exist, because of a pseudo item menu for the badge man in Cerulean City. Pseudo item menus are also used for elevators, thats also the reason why some glitch items like have names like 3F (third floor). The Badge “items” are not unused, they are just pseudo items and trigger the rock or bait effect from the safari game when used in battle, because the pseudo items are also reused for such stuff. This is a clever way to save memory.
Coming here from yonder in the future where we have Scarlet and Violet now, I’m very curious what the cutting room floor will procure as cut content in these games now that it’s out. Because it certainly seems like quite a few functions were implied in the game’s mechanics but ultimately cut due to lack of time (decorating dorm rooms a la the secret base system, more clothes than just your school uniform, actual store fronts rather than pop up menus with actual icons for the items in all the shops rather than just some. The list goes on).

Jasmine revised: Steelix, Magneton, Scizor, Ferrotress
Pryce is fine
Claire is limited and would be similar to Lance: Dragonite, Kingdra, Charizard, Aerodactyl, Gyarados, Tyranitar
@@khaos_theorem7842 thats the thing. Its hype as a kid when you didnt know better. Now its rather empty and bland.
Trainer ranking system would have been amazing in my opinion. We got "kind of" the same thing in PLA, but having a ranking system in a base game would have been amazing nonetheless. Hopefully they bring it in the future. Rank requirements for gym badges. You get ranked up by battling trainers. That way even if you spammed cheats for rare candies you would HAVE to battle trainers in order to build up your rank. I could get down with that 100%.
The problem is people don’t have integrity and would hack their Pokémon to have a million damage and it would ruin the experience. Cheaters ruin everything they touch. So I’m glad it’s not here.
@@alexmendez3681 I agree 100%. While it would be super nice to have something like this I think it would be better for offline online. I mean if someone wants to ruin their offline experience with cheats then so be it, but for those of us who actually put in the time and effort in breeding and training it would be worth it. I just wish they would implement something that flagged crafted pokemon. So many of these tools nowadays and pretty much create whatever you want and it's "legal" even though it's not "legit"
Could also throw a curveball at the speed running community
The reason Peonia has a battle animation is because she can be one of the randomized NPC characters that battles with you in Max Raid battles.... not because there was supposed to be a battle with her...
Pretty sure the combining move feature was why the anime got the infamous Thunder Armor sequence when Ash faced Liza & Tate! Thunder Armor was probably a combined move and the anime staff knew about it before it was cut from the games. It's not unlike how the Kalos anime got to use 100% Zygarde... and I'm going to go on a limb and say that Battle Bond Greninja was a cut feature of Pokémon Z where all three starters would have gotten a Battle Bond form and I hope we see those sketched out someday.
12:50 you can definitely tell this was planned since in the starting animation for the games you can see Pokemon combining their moves
Only the devil knows why someone wanted a "Tickle stick" and "proof of adulthood"!!!
I think the tickle stick was a Japanese gag and Proof of Adulthood was something more cultural to them and were cut because neither would have translated well outside of there.
A tickle stick is something divers use to catch lobsters, so maybe it had something to do with that and proof of adulthood just sounds like a bad translation of a picture id to me
4:34 they probably changed this, because it would be too similar to Megami Tensei/Shin Megami Tensei demon recruiting mechanic
Dragon Quest also has a similar mechanic.
i doubt thats the reason. half of all kaiju collectors have recruiting mechanics. shin megami tensei is not their competition or their basis to turn to for creative decisions. they likely changed it because the direction they decided to go in was less about recruiting allies and more about capturing/taming animals.
@@PaintedHoundie Funnily enough, SMT was apparently the inspiration for pokemon
Just picture it, had the whip gimmick actually gone through I don't think the series would have lasted too long, very controversial choice and I can only imagine the lawsuits for depiction of animal cruelty (which they've tried before funny enough) all I know is I would go near Rhyperior with a whip :x
Nice! Would be cool to see a video like this about the side games too
sure it’s sad that they weren’t in black and white 2 but who knows them missing could be an excuse to plop them into a legends game
That bit about the whips was so enlightening! Thank you for that! I've always wondered why they had those.
Peonia: practically has no pokemon
Peonia as she loses: Oh no, it's *already* over :(
I remember before gold and silver came out, reading about different rumors and one was the skateboard! I was so excited back then about it.. only to see it wasn't there. All this time I thought I might have misunderstood the leak! You totally just confirmed it for me after 23 years! Lol
You made it, pal.
I would have loved the idea of Pokémon fusion in the games it would shed some light on the possibilities Pokémon and people possess in the Pokémon world.
That and it would be nice seeing it in the games rather than just the Pokémon reburst Manga.
They’re are certain roms so it’s not all a loss
When you realize that Iris had to beat Hilda/Hilbert to become the true Unova Champion as seen in Black and White 2
You forgot a few. Like that mysterious "Ground Rose Up Somewhere" message from Gen 1 and the fact that Ecrutek City was gonna have the Pharmacy, not Cianwood.
Good vid,though.
The belt system sounds like it might have been inspired by karate and judo, which use different colors of belts to show rank.
Thanks for making a video with actual obscure facts. I feel like other content creators circulate generally known information.
I thought Rain Dance and Sunny Day DID double the power of Water and Fire-type moves, at least until Gen 4...
I can see why they got rid of the belt idea in the original games since there wasn't color yet
There is a lot of flirting with the idea of human Pokemon fusions. But I honestly hope that never happens. The manga that did that was horrendous
I'm sure someone else has pointed this out.. But regarding the part where you cannot buy pokemon ingame.. Magikarp. Sure you can only buy one but I feel like it counts
Whoa, cool video man. Just wanted to say, uour remixes are great and I hope you make more 😀.
Thank you! I definitely plan on it!
It does however increase your odds of recruiting monsters after beating them.
i feel like the combining moves thing just became the pledge moves at some point
Imagine checking your black belt in key items and it saying "this belt is only held by trainers that can kill any pokemon with their bare hands"
Cutting the Battle Frontier was a bad move on GameFreaks part there was a lot to do.
I actually agree with GF here. The BF was a boring grindfest. I would prefer if the post-game was more like the Delta-Emerald episode.
The Delta episode was fun and good but personally why not both?
@@FTChomp9980 Because the BF is boring. It is nothing more than pure challenge with no story, character development nor anything interesting going on.
And the time that would take to develop the BF could be used to create another side-quest instead.
There are battle facilities after Gen 4, but having more Battle Frontiers would’ve been really nice.
You know what would be cool, I would love to have Pokémon adventure manga as an anime series but it’s meant for the older audience, although we had Pokémon origins witch red in the dub version was the voice of Erin Yeager from attack on titan plus silver the hedgehog and many more. But it would be nice just to have the kanto series.
You're talking about Bryce Papenbrook. He's also in Danganronpa, Seven Deadly Sins, Blue Exorcist, Blood Lad and SAO just to name a few
@@rhijones382 I was about to say he was also in dangaronpa lol, but you know him as much as I do 😄
@@rhijones382 and I have watched SAO but yeah, I just put a few not to bore the reader of my wish.
@@rhijones382 And Zidane in the Dissidia games.
The Japanese screenshots and clips are helping me learn vocabulary as well as learn cut Pokemon features :)
8:00 and the Pokemon Adventures Manga portrays Gold as a character that uses a skateboard
Me and another universe: *spends hours furiously polishing belts*
Those combo moves would really have been interesting. I remember seeing it once in the anime and everyone made fun of it but it really would make sense if it was in the game too (I'm looking at you, electric armor)
13:35 actually, we know why the idea got scratched
It's because of pokemon XD and pokemon Colosseum.
The thing with the persuasion is most probably taken from the Megami Tensei series where you can use dialog to capture demons!
in the Dragon Quest Monsters games you don't use machines to capture monsters... they join you by CHOICE. to encourage this you can feed them in battle, and some monsters need a HUGE amount just to have any chance at all.
I think the combining moves data was used in Gen five for the pledge moves but now it’s only going to be a mechanic for those moves
Wow I thought this video was going over things about the HM Cut
Move combining and gender-specific sprites for all pokemon species are the features i want the most. I like the idea of "mirage pokemon" rather than "legendary" (there're too many legendaries, changed my mind).
Battling pokemon by yourself is kind of neat too ; except i don't see a 10 y/o defeat a flying flamethrower, nor a seismic kaijuu, let alone a mouse-taser. . . Even with a whip
The cut Travel Trunk from Gen 6 kinda made its way back into the games in Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and I think that's neat
If you gameshark in an azure flute it just works and you can do the sinjoh ruins event too
1:30 I hate the wip idea
.for team rocket it makes sense but for regular trainers it makes no sense it defeats the whole friend ship theme 4:43 I like this idea 6:32 ok that's bad
We did eventually get Pokémon picross on the 3DS
Gen 1 was to include a surfboard for surfing on water instead of the TM move Surf. (Not sure if someone already mentioned it in the comments)
Some of these cut content would actually be really great for a Pokémon anniversary trilogy.
Being able to BUY pokemon? Sounds like a logical feature to include in the world.
linking moves has been a feature in every pokemon mystery dungeon game since red and blue rescue team
Oh heck yeah more cut content from Hoops! Love to see it!
I think it would have been cool to bring the world Cup from gen 5 to gen 8. Imagine an animation similar to the beginning of sword/ shield, where the gym leaders walk out on to the field however in this version they are met with gym leaders from other regions walking towards them from the other side.
bruh i thought 50 facts about the move cut but still great vid
Tickle stick, proof of adulthood, and ice bikini. That's one hell of a sketchy group of terms right there.
Did you know that the Arceus event in HGSS is the only way to get Giratina origin form in those games?
15:58 can you imagine actually holding on to that lock capsule, buying the next game, transferring the capsule, and all you got for your patience and mystery solving skills was a TM for Snarl 😂 I'm glad it was cut from the games
Maybe we will see some of these like the cut combined move feature in the new S and V games
The cut Pokemon that's shown,I would really love to see the cut content come back
11:50 Pokémon Picross does exist as its own game, but from what i understand it is only for the 3DS. The down side is that it has micro-transactions and it heavily encourages you use them
Walking pokemon was cut from sun and moon cause gamefreak are bad developers and don't know how to properly format/distribute data in a game so they had much less room to work with than a competent developer would have had
fun fact: if you name your mother “mommy” in the Gold and Silver Beta, Silver will tease you, saying it’s “such a childish name!”
7:45 - It's such a shame they cut the skateboarding feature, this would've been so cool ...
Move combination was eventually added with the moves water pledge, fire pledge, and water pledge. It’s unfortunate that they are exclusive to the final evolutions of the starters.
Don't forget about water pledge too
Pokémon combo moves sounds so cool 🤩
Well this video about cute content from pokemon was pretty dope, and I like it
I wish they would have kept the "cell phone" from Gold&Silver where you could get the phone number of defeated trainers and they would call you up and challenge you to rematches.
Huh? That is a feature in the game
@@CG-jj9vp I think he/she means the other games
Nice Features but what I miss the most is the Option to change the throw animation.
where is this mans 1 mil subs
Given how pokemon like Jinx used to look I'm stunned they even had the fighting with a whip idea in the first place.
I can’t be the only one who is confused about why the kanto gym leaders appeared in the cut save lookin screen from galar?
I am going to assume those were placeholders. There would be no other reason to put those there
Wait. Human Pokemon fusion? That’s biomerging from Digimon Tamers!
The title made me think "clickbait again, ugh", but the video did cover so much new stuff, gj.
Combine Moves exists in pokemon as the elemental pledge moves, fire pledge, water pledge and grass pledge. You should've mentioned that.
19:02 where can i find that video? I searched for it but couldnt find it
6:25 Poor Magikarp salesman. No one ever remembers him.
That’s because no one was dumb enough to buy from him
original heat wave sounds so cool, all of the cut feature’s usually are the coolest for no reason, but i get GF is tryna go for a more simple approach
i wanna see a game of only cut content in yellow and crystal
i think it would be cool
Loooool i instantly thought about 50 uses of the move "cut"
"50 insane cut features that would have changed EVERYTHING"
Or, 50 neat cut features that would change a negligible amount if anything"
Coming here from yonder in the future where we have Scarlet and Violet now, I’m very curious what the cutting room floor will procure as cut content in these games now that it’s out. Because it certainly seems like quite a few functions were implied in the game’s mechanics but ultimately cut due to lack of time (decorating dorm rooms a la the secret base system, more clothes than just your school uniform, actual store fronts rather than pop up menus with actual icons for the items in all the shops rather than just some. The list goes on).
