Theo bro there are people around us who dont know how valuable they are in our lives because maybe we dont interact with them too much but for us just knowing that they're out there kept us in balance they're like a "life guard on the edge of the pool of mental health". You dont actually know them that well but just thought them being there makes you more relaxed and now that theres no lifeguard...
Theo bro I'm I really feel comfortable when I call you my bro because you are that. Chris D'elia tells a great story about Brody from his podcast a few months ago. How he turns a dead room of like 12 people into a half full room at 1 am with people not letting him leave the stage and the other comedians giving him their 15 mins because he was killing so hard. He finished that set shouting to the crowd " sometimes dreams do come true!!" Now this was D'elia telling a random Brody story months ago, not inspired to do so because of the sad news .

I lost my dad to suicide when I was a kid and I also struggle with depression (not that you would know as I hide it well) and have attempted to kill myself even though I knew first hand how much it would ruin the lives of those left behind. Your mind just constantly tells you that your worthless and that everyone you care about would be better off without you and eventually you just can't take it anymore. My prospective after watching Ari's Unlicensed Therapy is Brody was naturally one way, then on medication he was this likeable positive happy nice guy. So when he was just wanting to not be on medication and be himself he couldn't. Everyone wanted him to be the guy on medication, so once again he was going back on it to make others happy but he just couldn't take being the fake Brody. He just wanted to be the confrontational guy that sticks up for himself and calls everyone on there bullshit and doesn't back down

Something I’ve been thinking about lately and even more so since losing Brody is the idea that we need to speak our minds more often. It can help so much just to say something outloud and maybe if we are more truthful with others by speaking our mind more often we can stop keeping things, especially things we view as shameful or embarrassing or unworthy, bottled up so deep inside. Brody was an angel and I won’t be convinced otherwise

It is heartbreaking, especially because there are so many people going through similar mental health turmoils...I know more than a handful myself...And it’s even more heartbreaking to feel helpless in not being able to help them...but ur right, relating to others brings connection to the outside world and outside their own brain and thoughts...yet, the brain IS complicated, but straightforward...and I’m sure medication regulated his brain...RIP and stay connected Theo ❤️

He sat beside me at the Ding Dong Show New Year's Eve party for a long time. He just sat there and pounded out a beat on the tables.
Less than two months later.... Dead. We rang in his final year together.
I returned to The Store for The Ding Dong Show Monday; I thought that there was closure that night because I didn't really feel sad anymore. Not really.
Last night a female Lyft passenger asked me, "how is your night going?" My brain just spoke the truth without even thinking, and my response surprised even me: "I'm still trying to get over someone's suicide." Then I half-cried as I discussed him to her. It's just FUBARed.

The plight of many blessed with the gift of comedy is that most of them are fighting a bigger battle inside their head. The comedic act is often a compensation for the demons they face every day - a way of making light of the darkness. It is unfortunate when they lose that battle, but I can't blame em either. Shit's tough out here. RIP Brody.

The internal struggles with mental health are hard to deal with. It feels like a constant fight against yourself and your thoughts. And on Theo’s comment about Brody being like a life guard for mental health, it helps to show how sometimes the ones that are preaching about getting help and staying positives are the ones that are drowning and loosing the fight against themselves. I obviously cannot speak for everyone who has dealt with depression and mental health, but as someone who has dealt with depression and anxiety throughout most of my life I would like say that we only get one life and we get a lifetime to live. We never know really how long a lifetime is until it is over. Life is such a fragile thing and there are so many ways to lose that life. So, to anyone that has struggled or struggling with mental health; Never be afraid to ask for help or to talk to someone. Lastly, I do not who said this quote for sure but It says “you may be one person in this world, but you may be one person’s world” Always remember that when someone leaves this world they leave behind a hole in the hearts of everyone that cared about them and everyone that was impacted by them.

I’ve been really drinking heavily these last few days, saw this news and had put it in my head that it was a drunken delusion of some sort. I’m dealing with my own depression and admittedly not the right way... I just don’t think I could ever get to the point of suicide, no matter how much I hate any situation, through homelessness, through hurt, and heartbreak, I love people more than I hate life at it’s worst. It’s tough battling with yourself but please if anyone has any urge to give up don’t. It gets exhausting waiting that “one more day” but damn it stick it out, you really have a purpose, and you may not find it til you’re 30, 40, fucking ancient, but you will look back and thank yourself for hanging in there. I will too some day and I have before. Just believe in YOU and never be ashamed to congratulate yourself for making it through each day, you deserve it, and owe it to yourself.
