This kind of exploration is the kind of thing I used to always do when I played this game as a kid. Eventually I gave up and now I generally follow the quests. But I used to always want to go beyond the edge of the map and explore the areas that are unreachable.
The place that always has me wondering off map is that City you see across the river from Haudh Lin in Ered Luin..there seems to be no reason for it being there unless there were plans to extend the region westwards
To state the obvious, this was confirmed in the recent producer's letter - but I still had to google Yondershire and then come to this video to find out where it would be. Thanks for posting this.
If you go to 25.5S 69.8W it looks like there is a path up the river into the new lake. There is an invisible wall there, but you can walk/swim to get a fairly ok look.
The terrain map plugin reveals a little more, the road north out of Needlehole branches to the east and goes all the way to Northcotton farm. It also branches briefly west then turns north along a river and turns west near those Arnorian ruins. You can also see the beginning of a road going northwest out of Little Delving.
No problem. I took another look, and I noticed the area on the eastern edge of Ered Luin, across the river, and bordering the housing area, is much more developed with trees and other features, and the road that leads into the portal to the Shire is extended further. If you use the plugin you can see the changes by switching between 2x and 4x zoom. The newest tiles only show up at 1x or 2x. So it looks like we may be getting a full connecting region there finally.
Yeah! If you haven't already, I'd highly recommend using code FREEQUESTS2022 in the LotRO store and you'll unlock Yondershire (and a ton of other content) for free! :)
@@Jediwarlock yeah, I got that already, and the big code from last year too, but thanks! I've been playing on and off for about 3 years now, taking it very very slowly, rather than rushing my leveling, so I can take in as much content as possible, and explore the lands. I'm currently level 51 and mostly questing in the Mines of Moria, although I do pop out for some sunshine and fresh air at times! xD
Played a for a while in the new Yondershire area - it is a very large area. It does connect to Erid Luin, but not to Evendim. There is a door in - forgot the name - ruins, but it is currently "Restricted" and the area will teleport you out quickly. There is a ruin that you can see from Erid Luin across the river. There are goblins in it on the test server.
Years ago, when I first started playing I saw a mention of those ruins being accessible somehow. Now it was also very dangerous since it could cause a bug and make your character irretrievable and the devs closed off that area, so it's fun to finally being able to check out that site so many other players must have wondered about.
Your 200th Subscriber here! Haha great video new to the channel watched a few videos and they were really good, wondering if you were going to make a lotro lets play or anything such as that?

It's so unfortunate that invisible walls were added to all sorts of fun places.

Cool! I did the same when wildwood was about to release, it was so much fun exploring a *forbidden* area and finding ways around the boundaries.
Wow, im truly amazed!!
@@Jediwarlock definitely!

Can you maybe make a video about what DLC to buy as a new player on lotro store. And maybe what the DLCs change in the game ?
Yondershire? Horrible name. Tolkien will be spinning in his grave. Hope they change it if it comes into being.
