Finally not bad looking EV from an ICE manufacturer. Better looking than Bolt and maybe slightly bigger. More than many ICE companies, Nissan seems more serious in this EV market as it also have the e-NV200 minivan.
They should've hired Bill Trinen to translate the conversation! :P The new LEAF looks great and I can't wait for other car companies to release competitive models!
Kinda typical if you've done multilingual conferences before. English grammar relies significantly on the order words are spoken (lion ate gazelle; gazelle ate lion) whereas Japanese is modular in construction - order does not matter*. As a result J->E live translation often relies on hearing entire J statement1, speaking E statement1 while simultaneously hearing/comprehending/trans-in-head J statement2. It can quickly become frenetic... and even highest level translators, fluently bilingual - maybe even from childhood, need to switch out after ~45min in my experience. *there are exceptions but this is simplistic explanation.
I am a TESLA fan but GREAT DESIGN to Nissan. What an improvement. Longer range coming in the future next year is also good news though i kinda wished you released it today and then deliver next year.
Kevin CCIE They basically did they just not over promise and under deliver like Tesla, and with exaggerated marketing...! They are Asian , culture is different, restraint and subtle...Nissan is after different customers than Tesla, Tesla want absorb luxury/upper market $40k-150K
I don't blame Tesla for under-delivering on their promises or even exaggerating only on self-driving marketing. Tesla is like a small baby fish car company trying to swim in a sea full of sharks - they have no choice but to do things over-the-top just to survive. I have to agree - they are still expensive though. I hope to see a bare bones Tesla Mini in the future at a cheaper mass market price else I will have to buy a used one. For now though the leaf will do fine until the year 2020 when all the manufactures release their models for sell - bmw, mercedes, jaguar, lucid, etc.
10kW onboard charger is not interesting. What is interesting is charging at 100kW DC station. And battery cooling/heating of course. And app that actually works. Within 5 seconds. Not 5 minutes.
Esperaba algo más de Nissan Misma pantalla, mismos botones, mismas puertas, mismos asientos, mismas llantas o muy parecidas aún así me gusta el nuevo Leaf.
As a Leaf owner I have to say that I don't care about autopilot!!! I want range...faster AC charging...and more power !!! Park assist ?! really !! Who cares about a system that only manages to park a car when the space is so big even a toddler could park it ??
It can park tight spaces... and a lot of people will say they don't care about autopilot until they have it. You have no idea how much time you waste in life being a slave to the wheel, until you live in a country that actually has public transportation -- or autopilot like this. And the autopilot is baseline; you're not paying additional $10,000 in packages like the "other" so-called "mass market" EV.
Mach One 100 There are many Tesla taxis in Helsinki. One has > 200 000km in it's meter. Works well although 2 motors changed by warranty due to whining noice.
Gas prices here in Scandinavia are very high compared to America, so running a Tesla as a taxi car here is economically good in a long run, as taxi driver can make between 400 to 600 $ a day in Stockholm.
110,000 Leafs sold in the US to date. Once they hit 200,000 the $7500 tax credit starts to fall away. 2-4 yrs for the Nissan. 1-2 yrs for Chevy and Tesla. Lets see how EVs sell without welfare subsidies
Roberts TV won't need them soon. At the current rate of price decline, in the next few years, the gas savings will equivilate the costs between ICE and EV. And there are incentives in many countries that expire in different ways.

China leads in solar adoption and China’s energy companies will make up nearly half of the new coal generation expected to go online in the next decade.
Congratulation. It is certainly a good move. Also please be more modes at new LEAF is still far behind Tesla Model 3. Battery 40kWh (Tesla 50kWh). If the battery still does not have temperature management system (like the previous model) that huge disadvantage. Ability to power home (or smart grid) is a GREAT idea. Exciting to check how it works. But be aware Tesla can do the same by air software update. Also, there is no secret Tesla is the most advance in drive autonomy and can update they cars any time over the Internet. That's a big advantage. 98 year of history does not matter. If so, you will then still use Nokia. ;-) Anyway is a great car and wish you guys all the best even I stay with my Model 3 reservation with 600'000 another people.
"Tesla is the most advance in drive autonomy " Not even close. Tesla had to outsource for autonomy for a reason, and then get sued and settle (unfavorably) for IP theft from that 3rd party source. In development, Nissan is far ahead. In production, Tesla has the advantage of selling only luxury cars to limited population that doesn't complain when things break and promises are broken. But that won't remain the case long-term.
Range is still very short. Old 30kWh version with LeafBox range extender does almost same range. They should follow Tesla 3 and Bolt/Ampera-E and install 50-60kWh battery. But car is nice...
So all they said is that they have hill-hold function on the leaf and adaptive cruise control. AEB. If one can not change interior temperature in the app, lock/unlock the car with the app, change charge set level by 10% increments there is advancements at all. Ok slight range increase and slight power increase. Though this is not "new tech". How about voice recognition that can understand something like "play Paint It Black".
84 years of making ICE cars, not EV. Big difference. And bragging about selling more cheaper cars for a longer period of time ? How much were sold after Tesla started selling their Model S, 2 to 5 times more expensive ? Much much less than before. Try again ..
Reliability claims: sure sure, but you don't stand behind your existing leaf when it fails. I know this personally: my 2012 LEAF SL battery gets me just 35 miles from a full charge and Nissan considers it "fully functional". I've only lost one capacity bar, so my issue isn't capacity, it's something else that Nissan doesn't care about. Nissan: you lost me as a customer specifically because you don't stand behind your product when manufacturer defects cause premature failure. Shame on you.
Looks boring. Still the centre console is not oriented to the driver. So sad Nissan have tried to stay safe and making the new leaf look like a dull generic car. *edit. Still looks like it has the terrible visibility issue with the front pillar too.
New Leaf looks great! Well done Nissan! Technology is awesome!
I really admire the way these Japanese makers approach building cars.
Well done really knocked it out for of ball park this time ! 👌
Finally not bad looking EV from an ICE manufacturer. Better looking than Bolt and maybe slightly bigger. More than many ICE companies, Nissan seems more serious in this EV market as it also have the e-NV200 minivan.
They have a whole range of EVs domestically. Unfortunately, US market is behind... as always; see Trump.
A new Nissan LEAF looks great it has over 60k views now . I love the way it is built and all of the features.
Amazing presentation... Nice looking car
Great job and really amazing Nissan! The opening visual and LEAF show is awesome!
Me encanto la presentación del nuevo Nissan Leaf, definitivamente me encantaría verlo muy pronto en Colombia.
Great looks. Hope the driving experience will be as good as the Leaf we drive now. Surpassing it will be hard!
Two tone orange and black would be great
electric vehicles are coming. They will dominate soon
like after the $7500 welfare check expires. lol...
volkswagon bot, eat my shorts
I wonder what the subsidy for each gallon of petrol is?
Massive tax breaks to oil and gas.

Great Innovation and design.. Congratulations.. Any idea when it will be launched in India ?
it looks great. cant wait for it to hit the north American market
Can't wait to see this hit the Uk streets very soon. Any date yet for it's arrival?
Ohhh snap!! Auto pilot!sweet!!
Great 👌🏼
The pic of the leaf looks better than one on stage
Available in Thailand?
great news for sustainable mobility!
The size of new batary is the same as old? it would be great if owners AZEO or ZEO can replace old batary this new on 40 or 60 kWt!
LOVE IT!!!!!!!! I will buy one of these.
when is an electric quashquai or x-trail comming?
8:28 The announcer/translator can talk really fast!

It's good to know, whales, thanks!
Bravo, Nissan! This new car looks awesome, and kudos to you for taking electric vehicles seriously. I hope it's a huge worldwide hit!
increible el mejoramiento del diseño, esta realmente sexy
Can't decide if Next 100 or this was the better show :D
probably next 100 still though
No digital speedometer? :/
Very nice, I think this can be a big seller
best car right now.
廣重義 best right now in that car category is the bolt / amperage in terms of range.
For a moment i thought the new Nissan Leaf could be driven underwater coz of a lot electronic art animations .. Phew !
Enhorabuena a todos los creadores del #NewLeaf
It's actually pretty nice Im shook asf
When will it be available in Russia? Will it be assembled at Saint-Petersburg?
Alexander Ustimenko I haven't been able to find that out either, but hopefully around the same time as Europe. 😀
By 2018, as in Ue. For more information contact your local Nissan dealer
Loris Schiabello local dealers are not reliable.
Will be disassembled in Saint-Petersburg.

Pity that battery is not liquid cooled. Probably there will be again problems with overheating during fast charging.
They haven't even increased the default charging rate. The Zoe which has been out for years now charges at 7kw but nissan are still stuck with 3.3kw.
to late :P
Why you still can't make acceptable media system? Where is Apple's CarPlay? Where is Android Auto?
Much better presentation than the Model 3 presentation hands down.
Robert Almeida no way
imagine if you still a reflex on stepping on breaks??
Battery cooling and a 10kw AC to DC charger please.
Kieran Mullen don't think u got what everyone wanted
10kW onboard charger is not interesting. What is interesting is charging at 100kW DC station. And battery cooling/heating of course.

Electrification? For when the children are being annoying in the back seats or???
Esperaba algo más de Nissan

build to compliment, now they build it right.
EV's are the best for this world... specially the LEAF...
As a Leaf owner I have to say that I don't care about autopilot!!! I want range...faster AC charging...and more power !!!

What's the point of announcing an even bigger battery version today , now I am going to wait
Nissan LEAF #WorldPremiere
👍🏾 nissan
Can actually be good and cheap in use as a taxi car.
Mach One 100 There are many Tesla taxis in Helsinki. One has > 200 000km in it's meter. Works well although 2 motors changed by warranty due to whining noice.
Yup Tesla is a very popular choice for taxi drivers in Stockholm, Helsinki and Oslo.
Gas prices here in Scandinavia are very high compared to America, so running a Tesla as a taxi car here is economically good in a long run, as taxi driver can make between 400 to 600 $ a day in Stockholm.
If nissan can turn over these vehicles fast, tesla is screwed
is a lot of space on the market for both
I'm commenting as I'm watching..this car is so small ,not made for 6 feet other taller
Love the new LEAF it's really a ugly duckling became swan, i will consider swap my Audi A3 to this one when it's come to Australia
England And France no more allowed gasoline car in future.
Honda and Toyota also in near future in china they produce EV.
250 mile range!
150hp
Looks ok. will be 2nd best selling EV in 2018.
110,000 Leafs sold in the US to date. Once they hit 200,000 the $7500 tax credit starts to fall away. 2-4 yrs for the Nissan. 1-2 yrs for Chevy and Tesla. Lets see how EVs sell without welfare subsidies

Huh? There is no subsidy plan at $7500 that is to expire. Watch how fast the sales drop after the welfare stops.

the translator is not having time to take breath....... SPEAK SLOWLYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Great car terrible world premiere need a good PR company, it spoiled great work by lots of engineers
Comparing Nissan to Tesla demonstrates who was the leader and the challenger on the EV market

Faster , Stronger , Better TESLA Model 3
Sure hope so at twice the price after rebates.

Again a high trunk sill. So disappointing.
Snore...where is my Model 3?
Looks nice, however Tesla is probably still ahead
That's like saying Audi is ahead of Volkswagen.
Only one of these companies is actually selling a mass market car; $50k is still luxury segment.
Get a Model 3 Instead. 150 mile range is UNACCEPTABLLLLLLLE!
40kwh battery. Is it a joke?.
but car price is the same like a current model, i think that was a goal. bigger battery next year
LEAF can beat Tesla even though Tesla have a new facelift
?
King Montero 😂
Tell me when the USA premier is. I can't stand this captain Kirk gen translator.
The styling is shit, the range 150 miles is shit, I don't think Elon Musk is worried!
you have repeated the same comment throughout multiple leaf videos. if you don;t like the leaf why watch the videos lol

Good bye Tesla. Hello Nissan.
Jesus Ortiz no chance battery life is half
40 kWh will be not the break thru of the masses
still no Tesla 3 on Sale. And the Model 3 is no Hatchback.
Romeo Sierra n
Hell no.
