    Finally not bad looking EV from an ICE manufacturer. Better looking than Bolt and maybe slightly bigger. More than many ICE companies, Nissan seems more serious in this EV market as it also have the e-NV200 minivan.

    • @APsupportsTerrorism

      Kinda typical if you've done multilingual conferences before. English grammar relies significantly on the order words are spoken (lion ate gazelle; gazelle ate lion) whereas Japanese is modular in construction - order does not matter*.
      As a result J->E live translation often relies on hearing entire J statement1, speaking E statement1 while simultaneously hearing/comprehending/trans-in-head J statement2. It can quickly become frenetic... and even highest level translators, fluently bilingual - maybe even from childhood, need to switch out after ~45min in my experience.
      *there are exceptions but this is simplistic explanation.

    I am a TESLA fan but GREAT DESIGN to Nissan. What an improvement. Longer range coming in the future next year is also good news though i kinda wished you released it today and then deliver next year.

    • @sergeyyevtukh388
      @sergeyyevtukh388 7 лет назад +1

      Kevin CCIE They basically did they just not over promise and under deliver like Tesla, and with exaggerated marketing...! They are Asian , culture is different, restraint and subtle...Nissan is after different customers than Tesla, Tesla want absorb luxury/upper market $40k-150K

    • @kevinisawake
      @kevinisawake 7 лет назад

      I don't blame Tesla for under-delivering on their promises or even exaggerating only on self-driving marketing. Tesla is like a small baby fish car company trying to swim in a sea full of sharks - they have no choice but to do things over-the-top just to survive. I have to agree - they are still expensive though. I hope to see a bare bones Tesla Mini in the future at a cheaper mass market price else I will have to buy a used one. For now though the leaf will do fine until the year 2020 when all the manufactures release their models for sell - bmw, mercedes, jaguar, lucid, etc.

  • @pol1250

    As a Leaf owner I have to say that I don't care about autopilot!!! I want range...faster AC charging...and more power !!!
    Park assist ?! really !! Who cares about a system that only manages to park a car when the space is so big even a toddler could park it ??

    • @placerdemaio
      @placerdemaio 7 лет назад

      coming

    • @APsupportsTerrorism
      @APsupportsTerrorism 7 лет назад

      It can park tight spaces... and a lot of people will say they don't care about autopilot until they have it.
      You have no idea how much time you waste in life being a slave to the wheel, until you live in a country that actually has public transportation -- or autopilot like this.
      And the autopilot is baseline; you're not paying additional $10,000 in packages like the "other" so-called "mass market" EV.

      Gas prices here in Scandinavia are very high compared to America, so running a Tesla as a taxi car here is economically good in a long run, as taxi driver can make between 400 to 600 $ a day in Stockholm.

    110,000 Leafs sold in the US to date. Once they hit 200,000 the $7500 tax credit starts to fall away. 2-4 yrs for the Nissan. 1-2 yrs for Chevy and Tesla. Lets see how EVs sell without welfare subsidies

    • @landrewma1820
      @landrewma1820 7 лет назад

      Roberts TV won't need them soon. At the current rate of price decline, in the next few years, the gas savings will equivilate the costs between ICE and EV. And there are incentives in many countries that expire in different ways.

    Congratulation. It is certainly a good move. Also please be more modes at new LEAF is still far behind Tesla Model 3.
    Battery 40kWh (Tesla 50kWh). If the battery still does not have temperature management system (like the previous model) that huge disadvantage. Ability to power home (or smart grid) is a GREAT idea. Exciting to check how it works. But be aware Tesla can do the same by air software update. Also, there is no secret Tesla is the most advance in drive autonomy and can update they cars any time over the Internet. That's a big advantage.
    98 year of history does not matter. If so, you will then still use Nokia. ;-)
    Anyway is a great car and wish you guys all the best even I stay with my Model 3 reservation with 600'000 another people.

    • @APsupportsTerrorism
      @APsupportsTerrorism 7 лет назад

      "Tesla is the most advance in drive autonomy "
      Not even close. Tesla had to outsource for autonomy for a reason, and then get sued and settle (unfavorably) for IP theft from that 3rd party source. In development, Nissan is far ahead.
      In production, Tesla has the advantage of selling only luxury cars to limited population that doesn't complain when things break and promises are broken. But that won't remain the case long-term.

    Range is still very short. Old 30kWh version with LeafBox range extender does almost same range. They should follow Tesla 3 and Bolt/Ampera-E and install 50-60kWh battery. But car is nice...

  • @tarassu
    @tarassu 7 лет назад

    So all they said is that they have hill-hold function on the leaf and adaptive cruise control. AEB.
    If one can not change interior temperature in the app, lock/unlock the car with the app, change charge set level by 10% increments there is advancements at all. Ok slight range increase and slight power increase. Though this is not "new tech". How about voice recognition that can understand something like "play Paint It Black".

    Reliability claims: sure sure, but you don't stand behind your existing leaf when it fails. I know this personally: my 2012 LEAF SL battery gets me just 35 miles from a full charge and Nissan considers it "fully functional". I've only lost one capacity bar, so my issue isn't capacity, it's something else that Nissan doesn't care about.
    Nissan: you lost me as a customer specifically because you don't stand behind your product when manufacturer defects cause premature failure. Shame on you.
