In a recent training video with CBum, Urs explained he was already in such good shape because he was afraid of not making weight. So that's the reason he looks the way he does right now. You have to wonder if some of the other competitors feel the same pressure...
This is where we're at, part of being a bodybuilder is being able to constantly contract your abs to hide your normally pregnant looking belly when you're on stage. I really hope this competition doesn't reward what Nick has become. Aesthetics should matter, even in open.
I'm pretty confident that C Bum will win the Classic Mr. O again this year, but right now Urs looks like the runner up to me. I can see his size and conditioning being good enough to overcome Terence's structure and posing
I have a slight worry about Urs being so ripped all the time. Andreas Munzer was Mr. Ripped in bodybuilding and died very young with a lot of health issues.
Charles looks amazing . Well balanced physique with no weak spot. The arms are peaked like crazy. His waist, back , legs and calves . His body just flows. This Olympia is packed with competitors
Most bodybuilder push out the belly like that for some back poses though. It stretches the skin around the midsection and makes the christmas tree on the back look better.
Imagine being one of only like 3 bodybuilder in the last 20 years that has a tight midsection that you can do a vacuum and still not crack the top 10. Crazy especially considering the bubble gut has been a great issue in the last 6-7 years.
It's not a bad as it was in the mid-2010's, and it's clear that the judges are marking it down more than they did back then. I don't think that Nick will ever win the Olympia because he's already blown out his midsection that badly.
Nick Walker is trying to get as massive as possible, at any cost. He's trying to build musclemass beyond his skeletal limitation. Once you reach the point where the mass whether it be bulk or mostly lean tissue is too much for your frame then this happens.

Assuming that CBum, Terrence, Ramon and Urs are your top 4 in some order, then here's an incomplete list of who Fabian will have to beat to come 5th: Breon Ansley, Chen Kang, Logan Franklin, Michael Daboul, Alex Cambronero, Gabriel Zancanelli. I'm not saying that it's _impossible_ for Fabian... but it's not likely.
Like people didn't already know that nick has a big waist/gut. The fact is he could walk around 365 days out of the year with a distended gut but none of that matters bc he ALWAYS controls it on stage

I was about to post something similar. Nick Walker knows how to control his stomach on stage. For the Armold Classic 2022, he controlled Every Single Pose. No Spillage, NOTHING. Nick knows what he has to do to be Mr. Olympia. He got this, Let the man breath.
It doesn't mean anything that "you can only see the distension between poses" , because the judges will still be there seeing those transitions. And if those transitions will look anything close to this...
Doesn't matter that Nick Walker can fix/control his abs in the competition, it's the fact he has it is the issue. Judges/people/media are now going to focus on his abs when he does his routine to see if he has a gut or is he able to control it. Nick is still young but he's already having bubble gut issues.
It is not just "some distention". The gut is huge. Is this really the state of BB right now? Just peak for one hour per year for the O and be such a mess for the rest of the year? Mass monster or not, this shouldn't look like this.
Your commentary on Walker's bubble gut bonanza is a double edged sword... on one hand, you're planting the seeds in the judge's heads to look for the bubble gut bonanza, so they'll be keeping close watch on it, even when he's relaxed or in a transition pose.... on the other hand, you're giving Walker extra motivation to control his bubble gut bonanza 😂😂
I would think that "controlling" the gut (flexing it, sucking it in, etc) is a symptom of a bigger problem. Kudos that he's great at controlling it, but he's just band-aiding an obvious issue. I don't think the guy at 5'7" should be adding any more size or walking around at 300lbs... just looking out for his well-being given the current state of affairs in the sport

Honestly I think Urs-Ramon will be 3-4, in no particular order. Breon's probably going to slip back, despite being so great at what he does the new guys are just better. Everyone else is fighting for 6th imo.

Charles looks really good arms,vacuum conditioning, and his wide dense back looks crazy!!! As for Nick walker I agree with Nick it's never been a problem before and when he flex his abs you still see deep definition there and there's still 4 weeks left to get tighter I don't think it's gonna be a problem for him.

Weinberger said it in an interview when phil lost mainly because he couldnt control his midsection, judges see your gut even when you do backposes, you are fully exposed when you step on that stage. other than that he looks great already, really needs to control his gut when transitioning or hitting poses.

You're right about Terrance he leaves himself a little soft and he kills it in the last 10 days or so but I'm not sure he could do that in this lineup especially with guys like Earth who's going to be absolutely shredded standing next to the big dogs
Terrences overall shape is so much better than Urs, no matter how conditioned Urs gets, he wont have Terrences shape. That and Terrences posing is top notch. Nick controls his gut distention so so well. His issue is genetics. He has the waist width of someone 6" taller than him. Dudes a tank/ fridge.
Nick, I think you'd be better off taking it easy on the negative predictions for Breon. You've been putting him down ALL year and it really isn't fair. Even if he's on the way out, you don't need to keep repeating it CONSTANTLY without even a hint of impartiality. It ends up sounding as if you WANT him to do poorly.

When the conditioning comes the arms goes away, very good shape urs, but it seems that he's bringing the same and trying to have a different result, it's not gonna work, ramon on the other hand is showing a lot more improvements in his physic, i think that the arnold result is going to be repeated, ramom is gonna be ahead of urs in the Olympia
Everyone is sleepin on Charles Griffen. No mentions whatsover so thanks for talking about him in the video. He's an absolute monster and much improved this year. I think he will crack the top 10 for sure
Being the size that Nick Walker is. I don’t think it’s necessarily shocking that he has some transitional distention. However, the amount of distention is what concerns me. And not because I think it’s going to hinder him at the Olympia. He has very good control over the mid-section on stage as we’ve seen in the past. Personally, I’m more concerned about the health implications of having such severe abdominal distention. Because whether you say that he has “thick abdominals”, “a wide mid-section”, or “he just ate a big meal”. Having a stomach that looks like a beer-belly when you relax is absolutely not indicative of being healthy. With the overwhelming number of high-level bodybuilders dying over the past several years due to the long term effect from the lifestyle. It’s hard to not be concerned. I just don’t want him to be the next person on that unfortunate list. He’s too damn young.

Urs looks kind of stringy to be honest - I'm hoping that all he needs to do is fill out, but he looks significantly smaller than CBum. I'm guessing that he is already at his weight cap?
I’ve been saying this for a while. Nick looks great when he holds it in for the camera but he loses in quarter turns. Phil and Ronnie had the same issue
Not to mean that the amount of effort that it takes for him to control it onstage is evident on his face. Plus, it's an abdominal hernia waiting to happen.
On stage or not, that gut doesn’t look good. Bodybuilders with abs shouldn’t look like that, even between poses. I bet Charles Griffin doesn’t look like that between poses. He’s a way more pleasing physique representative of bodybuilding, but it’s name recognition and freak factor that prevails.
Nick needs to get under some goon lights, get the best lighting on that mid section because dawn! That angle & iPhone camera lighting doesn't compliment him. That or he's got a major bubble gut bonanza ...

Urs is one of the hardest working pros out there. You can definitely tell by his improvements every year.
The vast majority of pros work their assess off damn near all day, it comes with being professional in any activity

I got a 5th in the state in 81. I knew it wasn't for me. Got bigger and stronger, but never competed again. I love watching these guys.
Urs biggest weakness is his back. His coach pointed thhis out in his last video. But his conditioning and structure is very good.
Urs also has the Form the size and the posing 🤷🏾♂️ plus he's the most shredded guy

To look like a bodybuilder year round wearing ANY type of clothing is the truest testament of looking/ feeling your best!......hats off to those living an actual healthy lifestyle w/o ANY DRUGS!.....

When the conditioning comes the arms goes away, very good shape urs, but it seems that he's bringing the same and trying to have a different result, it's not gonna work, ramon on the other hand is showing a lot more improvements in his physic, i think that the arnold result is going to be repeated, ramom is gonna be ahead of urs in the Olympia

Being the size that Nick Walker is. I don’t think it’s necessarily shocking that he has some transitional distention. However, the amount of distention is what concerns me. And not because I think it’s going to hinder him at the Olympia. He has very good control over the mid-section on stage as we’ve seen in the past. Personally, I’m more concerned about the health implications of having such severe abdominal distention. Because whether you say that he has “thick abdominals”, “a wide mid-section”, or “he just ate a big meal”. Having a stomach that looks like a beer-belly when you relax is absolutely not indicative of being healthy. With the overwhelming number of high-level bodybuilders dying over the past several years due to the long term effect from the lifestyle. It’s hard to not be concerned. I just don’t want him to be the next person on that unfortunate list. He’s too damn young.

IMHO they should make the vacuum pose manditory in open and weigh it HEAVILY. Thick midsections and bubble gut are one of the reasons the classic guys look better! Isn't bodybuilding supposed to be about aesthetics?!?!

I’ve been saying this for a while. Nick looks great when he holds it in for the camera but he loses in quarter turns. Phil and Ronnie had the same issue
Not to mean that the amount of effort that it takes for him to control it onstage is evident on his face. Plus, it's an abdominal hernia waiting to happen.

On stage or not, that gut doesn’t look good. Bodybuilders with abs shouldn’t look like that, even between poses. I bet Charles Griffin doesn’t look like that between poses. He’s a way more pleasing physique representative of bodybuilding, but it’s name recognition and freak factor that prevails.
