City Prepping Good video. I carry the same gun so seeing it fit in that bag gives me a good idea of what I can put in it if I choose to get one.
Now for the ham radio since you don't have a license (I said the same as you about getting a license then something else comes up) do you have your radio set to any local towers? I only have mines set to NOAA.

at City Prepping - I see your packing heat, i see a gun in there, so this is your Doomsday bag, this is not a normal day bag, show us your real Normal Day "Every Day Carry Crisis Bag"(EDCCB). what would you have brought in that back on a normal day, or do you use a different bag for your actually EDCB. my i use regular old back packs, i got a green one for food such as milk jugs and a red one i use for moving around broken bricks to the dump to get rid of casue the trash man does not move rocks around. so i use my red colored back pack. and its a EDCB can of deal cause its like got to get milk or food or dispose of broken bricks casue the broken bricks are taking up space so they got to be hauled out to the dump. so these are my normal day EDCCB's but there not my disaster ones id just put one together on my own and be ready in a hour or so. i can bug in for the first few days and also if i bug out i know how to cook prickly weed roots into food with my frying pan i bought from goodwill while im on the go in the doomsday EDC times that are yet to come. my doomsday EDC bag loadout would be , would probably be focused on Ration packs and self made MRE's though. rather than hauling milk jugs in the normal day EDC's ..unless you really are working with the cops are whatever you said in which case having a gun really is your nomral day but not every one is going to go the gun or knife rought in there Normal day EDC id go that way in nmy doomsday EDC though. but in your narmal day your requered to carry weapons but california is a disaster area already so i can see the need for guns over there even if your not a cop / police officer.
As an EMT, I use my 5.11 bag for work, it's fantastic and never fails.
But you're right, it does catch a lot of attention from people.
I've gotten the military question a couple times.
Lots of good ideas here, but I personally try to only carry what I can put on my body. Gun, speed loader or magazine, knife, very thin credit card/license case, Zippo lighter, car keys, cell phone and a little cash. I keep a few larger items, basic first aid, water bottle, iPad, 2 20,000 mAh battery packs, charger cords, flashlight, nitrile gloves, extra pens and notepads (really like the Rite In The Rain #135), my Baofeng UV-5r ham radio (I am a licensed HAM operator) and an Altoids tin go box with Tylenol, GasX, and a small sewing kit. I use an LA Police Gear Bail Out Bag. This stays in my car, but is always handy to get to.
a very nice set up except one, i believe a firearm should be carried on your body at all times (if you have the permit, of course). let's say your bag got snatched away from behind or something, at least the criminal now doesn't has your gun as well
There are times like when at the beach that it isn't all that easy to conceal a weapon on your body, although I agree it is better to carry it on your body if possible. Also I've carried a bag like that since the 70s and it was never snatched away successfully.
Yeah. The only time I carry off-body is going to the gym, and it bugs the hell out of me(I have a ccw). And a bag defeats the gray-man concept

If I do carry a back up I carry off body in a bag. For me it’s easier to pass secondary to another person if I needed to while I shoot and move
Condoms are pretty good to keep, can hold a lot of water, pretty strong so it can work as a tourniquet too plus if your co worker wants to get frisky it can work with its intended use also.

Correct! And I'll go a step further by saying carrying a weapon without a round in the chamber is a waste of valuable time and you leave yourself open for mistakes to happen.

This is a practical video. I like to walk everywhere I go so I have carried a bag that is a combination of a glove compartment of a car and a purse. I've been refining mine since the 70s, when I also first started learning how to be breathtakingly ordinary and still I learned a couple of things from your video...

Your bag is well thought out, I enjoyed the video. I just wanted to share some things that might be beneficial...a door / lock picking kit. There will be desolate areas and you might need to locate decent shelter, for you and your loved one's...assuming the grid is down, picking the lock of an abandoned building, or office building that can provide you shelter might be a good idea. Also a water key to turn on outside side of buildings water faucets. Get at least 2 extra large emergency blankets and a bevy so you can sleep in it. You need an extra large poncho.
You have enough room in that bag to throw in a hammock, tarp, straps, fence cutting tool, a small pry bar, an expedition compass, extra potent large container of maze pepper spray for self defense, and some non lethal self defense weaponry if possible.
Your set up beats every urban prepper walking around with a stuffed rush 72 bag. Thanks for the video

I recommend a smaller israeli bandage, get a good tourniquet, vented chest seals not a bad idea. Get a bic lighter and dump the fire steel. A bic lighter in a Ziploc bag is more than sufficient in an urban environment. Skip the glow sticks and get a good back up flashlight, with spare battery. Get a collapsible water bag so you can use your water purification tablets

I like it, if I was an Office Worker in the City. Blends in well to that Environment. I've added my Two Cents to other comments, except for these last few. I also use Ziploc Type Baggies, but I use the Freezer kind. Much more Durable, and if you want to use them as Emergency Canteens, you can trust them not to rip so easily. But if you want to do that, get yourself a length of Tubing for a Straw. MUCH easier to drink out of. Also, put in some Hard Candy, in case someone near you is Bonking from Low Blood Sugar. Hope this helps.

I have a small pacsafe bag that’s about a quarter the size of that with a cross body strap that I use for edc. Then I have a small regular backpack for my get home bag, and a gym bag I keep in my car with extras like sleeping bags and stuff if I need it. I rarely go more than twenty miles from home so i always have plenty to get home.

Might want to pick up a few anti-static bags for Faraday protection for the BV-5 ham radio, and your USB thumb drives. Best get them in at least 2 mil thickness. You can get a variety of sizes; a pack of over 50 bags for under $15 (including shipping) from various online stores. If you have 2day shipping, I'd highly recommend you get those first, considering the current geopolitical situation.
For general carry if you insist upon see-through bags you can use scholastic style 3 mil pen & pencil pouches, instead of the lunch baggies. They can be found in the school supply or stationary aisle at most big box stores. Those have the added bonus of 3 ring gromets, to which items can be clipped externally.
I prefer the canvas pouches, color coded for purpose (red for IFAK, grey electronic cables, blue for water treatment, etc.) with heavy duty zippers. Yes, they're heavier than ziplocks, but I can pre-pack them, and add or remove if the EDC carryall has to go through TSA checks.

On top of the Izzy, maybe some QuikClot or other gauze. The Izzy alone is good, but even better with the QuikClot.
The bag and set up is nice for a day trip or to take with you on vacation for walking. Bag not big enough for my EDC as no room for computer and work files.

Honestly, carrying any EDC bag in-and-of itself probably makes you a bigger target to thieves. It's likely they'll (correctly) assume there's electronics in them. Electronics can be quickly and discreetly pawned-off. It's counterproductive.
If anyone wants to steal your stuff...it doesn't matter what kind of bag you're carrying (big or small, greyman or tactical) they will steal it regardless if they're desperate enough.
Your thoughts on carrying a body armour plate in your bag to pull around and shield your vital organs?
Your in a arid climate you may want to carry salt tablets or you can get gator aid type of product to give you a wide range of electrolytes.
That's a good idea. I've never seen that suggested on a video before but I was thinking about it the other day. Definitely necessary; water alone doesn't replenish everything.
Nice, small bag means easy to carry. I have 12 miles between my home and work and anything too big would be cumbersome.

Years ago (+10 years) before i started prepping, i bought a cheap compressible bag that have withstood the test of time and is still pristine, it even had straps for compressing and a shoulder/belt strap so i could carry it any way i wanted. I keep my various stuff separated in ziplock bags (tip i got from hikers) to keep it organised and always in the same spots and only got 2 emergency things available quickly (lamp and tourniquet). The bag looks like any other bag one would get from a store and it does not scream "I AM A PREPPER AND THIS IS MY EDC"!
It is highly versatile and i love every aspect of it, i can store it at the bottom of a smaller 30L backpack, or my 65L hiking rucksack, or carry it on my shoulder. Only thing i do not have in it is a knife due to legal reasons, but on non-city days if i went hiking or things got really bad, i can throw one in there. A waterfilter is a must for me, during extremely cold days i keep it on myself to keep it warm so it wont break or i just leave it at home, i got a heavy focus on first aid, got treatment options from blisters and up in severity.

Regarding Carrying a firearm in your EDC. Does the require and concealed and care permit
Just my opinion for an urban environment fire starting- water purification bags aren’t necessary unless there were bad weather coming in I would leave it out. But keep it handy to toss in the bag. Wallet- firearm I always carry on me maybe a back up in bag-keys- spare battery charger/ cable- meter change. That’s about it for me.

RCW (Revised Code of WA) requires concealed weapon to be carried on your person, so, shoulder strap great. Also, any "trendy" color is better than black. Navy blue, dark burgundy, you get the idea.

Just a vote for a simple holster for your shield (I got one too.) to store it in due to the trigger saftey. It'll also protect the finish, and if the shtf you'll want to wear it not store it.
For mine I keep a small sampling of medication. Things like Advil, Tylenol because headaches happen in life. Imodium, aspirin (for heart attacks), also a few candies, well cause it is candy and also good for diabetics you may come across.
Living in Canada I also keep a hat and gloves.
Great little EDC kit, a lot of the same things I carry in mine.

Also the use for a glow stick it of there is a situation and there are kids. You can give them the glow stick to keep them occupied.
Saw the Isreali bandage but no tourniquet? Probably more useful in a GSW scenario, also fire arm in the bag with no holster, to at very least cover the trigger,seems to me alotta reckless. Get a minimalist holster(vanguard 2 or the like) so nothing in the bag contacts and discharges the weapon.
I personally would carry gun,keys,knife,wallet on person and carry an actual flashlight not a headlamp. Then it frees up bag for a small first aid kit with ibuprofen and excedrin and tums and band aids. Ends up being way more useful than you think. Heck i even carry tylenol severe flu if im really feeling like crap on a job. Full sized multitool is great but is it necessary probably not in most cases. A keychain one like the squirt is just fine. When i started my edc journey my pack was huge and heavy now i have learned to slim it down and keep what i use everyday.
Great Idea. One thing though. The gun should be in a holster that covers the trigger gaurd in the bag.

I would replace the Izzy with a Olaes bandage. It’s way better on amazon. Comes with extra Gauze n two pieces of plastic film you can use as a chest seal. On top of having the cup that can be used for eye would.
So do you have to expose the gun to get at your wallet and phone? I could see that being an issue. I also would prefer a gun on person, but not always easy to do so I get it. Nice set up.
Food like a granola bar and jerky. A half liter of water. A dozen Cotten ball for stuffing a wound or saturating with lip balm for a fire. Fire steel, matches for the match heads, and multiple lighters. Aspirin tablets for pain and heart attacks. The water filter is a must for urban bug out. If you are stranded 20!miles from home in a city you need water. Where do you get water in a city without water pressure? Fire hydrants, sprinkler systems, water spigots. What’s common between all three? Stagnant water with metal and mineral sediment. If SHTF and you made it 30 days on your water storage, you will probably have plenty of nearby water in sprinkler systems.

Honestly, I see a lot of videos that use terms that seem pretentious. Some good info though. Contrary to some comments, I also carry a pistol in a EDC bag. Why? Although I do have a permit, I could not carry at work. Put it in your pocket when you feel the need. Easy.
Good stuff. My one concern for EDC carry is for people who go to work in offices daily. They have numerous items other than survival gear that need to be carried every day.
Depending on your job there are laptops, tablets, power cords, pens, and the list goes on. In order to carry what one needs for work you would have to carry a second bag.
Simple answer: Make your work bag into an EDC for BoB, or Get Home. I do, and it can get heavy but fits in airplane overheads for carry-on. Also, because it's a conventional looking (at least one guy in every office I travel to has the same bag) so it won't get noticed.
Mine just happens to have an IFAK, poncho, thermal blanket, water filter and firestarter kit.
Thieves are looking for loose wallets, and something to grab quickly. My bag weighs between 20 to 50 lbs, depending upon the load and season. Even quick cutpurses won't just grab that.
My EDC bag has a ham radio in a pouch on the shoulder strap, so they might snag that. I keep a spare, hidden inside, wrapped in a mylar anti-static faraday bag. They not only won't have time to search for that, they wouldn't know what to do with it. Besides, the bag itself weighs more than most kettle bell weights.

that stands out alittle to mush i think, a backpack might work better, if you dont want to stand out just find one that blends in well in the area.. or a collage bag or something, u might get more room, u never know if you get into something sticky and u cant get home easily or u just cant and u have to leave your area for what ever risening (forced in someway or just what ever. always have a way to surive if u cant make it from.....

If you carry a firearm, it should be on your person at all times unless it’s locked up in a safe, but I get it that’s just for show.
The main thing here imo is there’s no tourniquet in the bag. If you carry a weapon, you need to be able to plug the holes that your weapon will make be they in others or god forbid in yourself. A tourniquet is the simplest & most effective solution to prevent exsanguination from wounds to the extremities. Any penetrating trauma to a limb can be dealt with quickly and effectively with a cat or soft-w tourniquet bought directly from the manufacturer - NOT a SWAT, RATS, or any of the ratchet/ zip tie style tourniquets, NOT a fake cat from China bought off amazon, and NOT a simple rubber/latex tie off like that which is used for drawing blood, those simply stop venous blood return to the core, without stopping arterial blood flow distal to the tie and out of the wound. I once had a double stabbing and when I get on scene one of the cops says “we got a tourniquet on the males arm” and when I get there sure enough it’s one of those blue rubber tie offs, meanwhile all the cops are carrying REAL windlass tourniquets either a sof-t or a cat. So what happened was this guys arm was slashed from finger to biceps and stabbed in a few places - but his veins on his arm proximal to the wounds were literally pulsating because they were occluded by this tie off and all that blood which was trying to get back into the core was stopped by the tie and ended up just splattering on us out of his huge stab and gash wounds. The artery itself wasn’t occluded, just the veins. Moral of the story is use a real tourniquet and go for one of those Stop The Bleed courses offered by your local Red Cross for free, it’s a one hour course that can literally be the difference between life and death.
Lastly, you need some chest seals. If you don’t have commercial chest seals, you can use petrolatum gauze, the sterile plastic wrapper for other medical products, basically anything that’s clean and non-porous - you just slap it over your sucking chest wound (or any open wound to the neck or abdomen) and tape it down on 3 sides- the theory being that this creates a one-way flutter valve to let air escape but not enter the pleural space. You already carry duck tape, and tape is the medics best friend.
Also you don’t really need to get those fancy single use etd bandages. You get the same results with a gauze pad and some rollagauze (kerlix) the most important thing is that you know how to use the resources at your disposal. Don’t get me wrong etds are great especially under stress with limited fine motor function, but the most important thing is to learn how to properly make, use and improvise the tools at your disposal to save your patient.
If you can’t make it to a stop the bleed course just look up a few videos on the bleeding control/shock management station on the emt practical skills tests, they show you have to make a pressure dressing from just a 4x4 and some rollagauze. All you gotta do is control the bleeding - direct pressure, pressure dressing, tourniquet, and manage shock - raise the legs 8-12 inches, keep them warm with a blanket and give them oxygen if you can.

i almost put one in but decided to go with the Israeli bandage which can double over as a tourniquet (to a point)
Gun should be more easily accessed, so should the knife. Getting a low exposure rugged jacket with custom sewed pockets, compartmentalized for knife/gun storage is a good idea. Also knife proofing the arms (there are some very effective cut proof light meshes out there), and (small arms deterring) plating/ceramic layering the back and center mass (tactical jacket) is worth the investment/effort to create. You should consider distractions/subterfuge as part of your urban kit (fire works, eggtimer, clip on bells, road flares). Also keep in mind a straight blade full tang always ready is extremely effective as opposed to a folded blade in a buckled bag. Do not underestimate the immediate utility of a silent, precise and fast application melee weapon. In a pinch it can save your life, but remember ONLY you must know about it, or it might get countered or used against you. A straight blade, hand mace or ball peen hammer (tactical black/grey) always on hand, will give you the upper hand in an emergency physical struggle. A weapon is a force multiplier.

I would recommend the Vertx bags so you can hide your firearm much better without exposing it every time you open your bag.
Great set up just need more medical , and add a holster to the fire arm for a fast draw

You should always carry your wallet, keys, phone, knife, and lighter on you in your pants pockets at all times. I can excuse the firearm since carrying it on your person daily is probably way more risky being in Cali, but in the event of a SHTF scenario I suggest you change that. I didnt see any latex gloves in your improvised medkit just in case you have to deal with someone elses blood. Or regular work gloves for things like climbing or moving debris. And purification tabs with nothing to carry water in? A get home bag should have something that allows transporting water

Here in Texas it's only legal to conceal carry in a waistband or shoulder holster.
Shoulder holster or belt carry applies to open carry only not concealed carry. You can concealed carry in any manner you desire in Texas.
You should add some heavy duty zip ties to your bag. Very underrated item

Nice small pack, although I wouldn't carry a wallet , ccw, cell or keys in it. They would be on my person at all times unless if I'm at home.
How about a signal whistle? As you said with the lights, drawing attention might be important. But what about corners where you or your light can't be seen?

Kooorl Handy Agree 100%. I recently added a Whistle to my EDC. City Prepper has the Threat of Earthquakes, Wildfires and Mudslides in his Environment. I have Snowstorms and Tornadoes in mine. Yet any of us could be trapped in an Overturned car in the Brush out in the Country, or stuck in an Elevator, or in a Building Fire. It's Cheap Insurance. Thanks!

SOTO lighter holder, does not fatigue or burn your finger when using lighter for long periods.
Looks decent but I don’t want give up Molle or tactical bags. Too useful.
Well to start right off without even watching the vid, if you want this to start off as a grey man project, you need a non tactical colored bag.

Get on the air, and listen for a few weekends, or during an emergency. We also work fairs, bicycle races, and other outdoor venues. Try it, and you may like the idea more. Besides, getting an amateur license nowadays is easier than getting one to drive. If you can do the latter, try the former. You won't regret it.
You need some high fat, high nutrient and carb snacks in there. If this is all you had to get you home...in todays world that could take at least two days given the situation. ALWAYS carry water bottles in your car. Not plastic. But, the stainless steel variety. If you got stuck in the city...without some water and calories...given the stress...HOW would you get home?

Two issues: I would always carry gun on me, not in the bag you may be fighting over; You're in California so whether in a bag or on your person, good luck if the police desire to pat you down.

In. CA we can conceal carry with a permit. Educate yourself
