  • In Part 2 I give an in depth look at how I build the rail system and the door to the cage trap. Not a welder? No problem I use a very basic hobby welder to do this and I learned to weld as I built my cages that I have used the past two trapping seasons. Enjoy the build and if you are building along with me let me know how it is going for you. I love to hear from you guys.

    Where’d you find your channel for the front sides ? What size are they like 1/2” C channel ?

      I actually make it out of 3/4" x 1.5 " rectangle tubing. Just split it down the middle and you have 2 3/4" C channels for the rails.

      @@OutdoorMike okay cool I was actually looking into 2” x 1” rectangle tubing abs splitting it cause I couldn’t see any square tubing that could work good thanks brother

    When I cut my wire off the roll I cut every other wire down one side then cut the other side. So, i have a one inch piece of wire to wrap Around the corner every two inches.
    I don't use the J-clips anymore.

      I make a lot of rabbit cages. I use election sign wire to re-enforce around the doors.
      I am thinking about building traps
      Out of powder coated wire closet shelving. I find lots of it in trash piles.
      Thanks for the video.
      Liked and subbed

    Hi there, I just took the trapper education class in AZ. Jim Ball mentioned I should reach out to you .I am on a budget and I would like to make some cages. I am in Surprise AZ but can drive. Maybe we can work out some sort of trade?

      I'm following your vid to the T getting ready for cats in Utah thanks.
      One question. What size of wire are you using to attach cage to formed steel ?? Thanks

    • @OutdoorMike
      @OutdoorMike  3 года назад

      @@cjoly2261 I usually just use what I have available as long as it's thick heavy gague. I want to say it is about 3/16th thick not sure what gague that is though. The important part is that it holds strong to the formed steel and really pins the wire to it. I hope this is making sense. 🤔
