I rewatched this movie as an adult and decided to focus on Nani's perspective. As a young adult, I can just barely take care of myself, so seeing Nani struggle so much to take care of Lilo is just so heart breaking.

Proudly swept the rain cloud by the cliffs,

The "Ahihi lehua" of the vale...

Bringing fresh remembrance of the past
Dearest one, yes, thou art mine own,
From thee, true love shall ne'er depart.

I have seen and watched thy loveliness,

I am not sure how old Nani and Lilo were when they lost their parents, but Nani is one of the strongest characters I know who took the responsibility of parenting Lilo and maintaining the household even at the threat of having her taken away by social services. Her influence is what taught Stitch the meaning of "Ohana".

When I feel sad this song hits right in the spot to comfort my soul, Depression is a disease that is not really taking in consideration that much but it should be. Millions of people are battling their own mind at this specific moment, thinking they aren’t enough, thinking they aren’t loved, being mistreated or abused. We all have an untold story that only we have the bravery to carry in our shoulders for a very long time. But I wanna encourage everyone reading this message to Forgive the ones who hurt you, to call that one family member you’ve had an argument with that haven’t spoke in years,
To hug your parents while you still have them and to let go that one toxic relationship that has been no good to you.. Because you are worth it, you are loved and you are here in earth for a reason ❤

My grandmother just passed a few days ago , and this song hit me hard in the knee caps with feels honestly . I was making her a memorial piece and just couldnt stop crying , but this song inspired it . I have lost 3 relatives this year , thanks to 2020’s shit show of a year so far . It has been incredibly hard on my family , my dads brother found on Christmas dead from health issues , my moms brother overdosing , and now my grandmother of a brain bleed . I have to keep telling myself nothing is my fault , but the fact I never got to talk to them one more time hit very hard emotionally . I had gotten through to the hospital finally with my grandma , but sadly she went comatose a bit before I got through to the right people , and it has just been eating away at me . I know she knows I loved her , it’s just been emotional turmoil and this song has helped me let the pain out of all the sadness I have been hiding to be there for my mom . Rest in pease Allen , Vincent and Grandma Sandy , I hope we will get to meet and talk again someday , somehow .

English lyrics: Proud of the rain on the slopes, when biting the forest, it may follow(break)the line, upland wild flower. Love you, love you. The drunkard lives in the womb, one fond embrace and I came back, until we meet again. The love that came next to my time, you are my love, and it's working. I understand beauty, maunawili roses, there the birds were born, look at the beauty of the lake. Love you, love you. The drunkard lives in the womb, one fond embrace and I came back, until we meet again. The love that came next to my time, you are my love, and it's working.
