To tell we understand and it's so cool to remember that there was not necessarily translation sometimes the dance told the story in the way your body moves and that is just so cool.. you can pass it down for generations and the dance and the meaning will always be the same

I really love how the female dancer's dress becomes part of the dance, moving with her movements, and the male dancer's costume allows us to see the detail of the movement. It brings such a lovely balance.

Lilo & Stitch was my favorite movie as a little girl. That one special movie I would watch over and over and over, that I knew basically all the lines and the music, even tho I didnt understood the english being spoken on the songs, way less hawaiian. But I would sing in my own way because it made me very happy. As years went by, the movie brings me much confort and heartfelt tears and joy for times that I cannot go back to & the surprise of understanding so many nuances as I get older. This song and Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride always were my go to when I needed to boost my mood and as I reach my 30th birthday in a couple of days, it hasnt changed. I tried to learn this dance when I was little but was never able to. Its beautiful and graceful and even more amazing seen in real humans! This song still gives me chills, now even more learning what it means and seeing this beautiful display of skill, culture and passion! My heart is happy!!!❤❤❤

When the world fades away, Your light remains. In the darkest night, Your love sustains me. You are the light that shines even when the shadows surround me, the hope that pierces through my deepest fears. Through every storm, You calm my soul, Your grace has made me whole. You lift my burdens and carry my cares, and I know that in every high and every low, Your love is my foundation. Your love endures, forever strong. You lift me up, where I belong. In every season, You are near, and Your faithful love casts out my fear. No matter the valleys or mountains I face, Your love stays constant, and I have seen Your goodness through every trial. When I fall, You lift me high. Your mercy flows like the endless sky, and You welcome me time and time again, not holding my failures against me, but covering me with grace. In my weakness, You are strong, reminding me that Your power is perfect in my frailty. Your hand has led me all along, and You are my refuge, my hiding place. No fear can stand, no doubt remains because Your love, O Lord, forever reigns. Forever I'll sing of Your saving grace, declaring Your goodness. Your love endures, forever and always, never fading, never failing. It is stronger than anything I could ever imagine, deeper than the ocean and more powerful than any force. You lift me from despair and place me in the safety of Your arms. You are always near, and Your love covers me completely. This love is my song, my anthem of praise. Forever and always, Your love endures. I lost my husband, moved in with my aunt when things went bad for us Kelvin i owe all my gratitude to you for changing my life from being hoemless to owning a home. help me thank him in prayers info@Kelvinjpro,c0m this are the exact lyrics she sang to my kids every nightS

Idk if this thought process helps everyone, but keeping it in mind that all things are temporary, including sadness, really helps get through those particularly tough times.
The pain you feel today, might not be so bad tomorrow or the next day and so on. Sometimes, keeping that thought in the back of your mind while struggling can help the tough times seem a little shorter each time.
It's definitely a mind exercise that doesn't always feel like it's working early on, but after some time and mental effort it becomes subconscious and one day you'll randomly notice the improvements you've made.
Also, I know this is a broken record kind of statement, but do your best to socialise.
No matter how much you think to yourself that you don't want to or can't at certain times, that's your depression lying to you.
Depressions greatest weapon is to trick it's victims into thinking they WANT to be alone, it's greatest weakness is having social support, be that IRL or with online friends.
Sorry for the text wall, but I hope you're doing ok, and if you're not doing ok, that's alright. Progress isn't always linear. 🤗

My husband and I have favorite "Happy Movies" we like to watch when we're feeling low. *Lilo and Stitch* is at the top of the list. We watched it with my parents once, and it charmed their socks off. They especially loved the DVD extras, like the delightful behind-the-scenes shot of the children's choir that performed the song.

It looks so flowy and soft and mellifluous, but their breathing at the end it says that it is hard work! Really beautifully done. This is my first time seeing actual humans hula dance, and I think it's time for me to look in to it more!

This dance is so beautiful. The words, meaning, movement. All of it, beautiful. I love and admire how the contrast of the Woman's movements, soft and flowey and the Man strong and purposeful both move gracefully in sync with each other. I say this with the highest respect, this dance goes HARD!!! 😍🤩🤩😍💕 💯

Always remembered the song but never had the idea for how to look for it, and suddenly this appears. I'm crying with emotion and happiness, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.

I know this might be stupid to say but I remember this song from Lilo and Stitch. I remember how beautiful the music was and the movements they did. I wouldn't have thought they would be correct. It made me curious about the Hawaiians and the culture. At the time I didn't have access to a computer or the time to go to a larger library that would have information about the Hawaiian culture, but now I do. Thank you for this beautiful dance and bringing back the memory.
