I feel you, this character took me by surprise too, I wasn't expecting it at all. The coronation and tragic behind it, making it like impossible to follow his heart's desire, made me love Radovid forever. I rewatched all his moments two more times afterwards, since I did not pay much attention in my first run. It is amazing how well they fit, how Jaskier finally gets the undivided attention he deserves, the magical mind-blowing love he has written so many songs about finally in his reach. What I like most is how Radovid is so very straight forward, often without filter and ready to leave everything behind without any hesitation to be with Jask. And I love how you put all the non Jaskier scenes into your edit too, especially the ones where he makes faces, is kinda funny or playful and normal yet extraordinary. Because he's not only smart, honest, romantic, but also a dude the same way Jaskier is. Sorry for my long comment, and many many thanks for your lovely video!
Thanks! 🤗❤️. And me too! I'm definitely going to miss Henry portraying Geralt and the amazing chemistry he had with Joey; but I'm so curious to see where the story will go for Radovid and Jaskier.
False Kings is now one my most played songs right now because of this edit! It's such a good song and so Radovid coded. I keep coming back to this video and had in on repeat and eventually got an inspiration to write a fanfic about Radovid and Jaskier! I would be honoured if you're interested in checking it out. If you're not that's totally fine too! I don't wanna be disrespectful and drop the link without your permission. Just wanting to let you know how much I love it 🥺 Thank you again for your edit and the inspiration you gave!
I love this couple so much because I see the potential and it's unfair that some people are writing Radovid off as not having much of a presence to be Jaskier's great, epic love because he literally just got introduced this season. He will obviously come into his own in future seasons to come.
The question I'd ask them is whether there's any need for Radovid to "outshine" Jaskier in the series in the first place. In my own romantic couple, I tend to be a bit more extraverted, talkative, and outgoing than my partner (that takes center stage when it comes to certain subjects he's truly passionate about). I love dancing and performing on stage, he doesn't. Radovid being King will thrust him in the spotlight in the context of the series, no doubt; but, otherwise, his more reserved nature and tendency to be happy not being at the center of all the attention will likely makes him a pretty awesome romantic partner for Jaskier, that enjoys being at the center of it... Love is about emotional intimacy and connection, after all. Not putting on a show for other people's benefit (it is paying no heed to what others say to sing). 😉 And I wonder if the people thinking that Radovid is "too secondary" a character for Jaskier are the same that would be upset if his relationship with Radovid was more present than the (queer)platonic love story he shares with Geralt. 😆 This feels like a "dammed if you do, dammed if you don't" situation. Feature Radovid too much, people will complain he's replacing Jaskier's relationship with Geralt. Don't feature him enough, people complain he lacks the presence to be Jaskier's epic lover! Look, this is Jaskier! He loves Geralt, Vespula, is devoted to his found family, enjoys having sex with complete strangers he suddenly takes a fancy to, and just experienced his first romantic crush with Radovid. I'm pretty sure it has the potential to be plenty epic in its own way once it's given the chance to grow beyond that initial crush, and we learn more about Radovid indeed.
What I love about this series, is that when they put two characters together, like Garalt and jaskier, even if they have a falling out, they are still there for each other. Jaskier will eventually forgive radovid, and they can be happy together. I also love that visimir(probably didn't spell that right) actually cares about radovid. Unlike phillipa, who uses radovid to get what she wants, visimir loves him because he's his brother. He was genuinely worried when radovid didn't return after the conclave.
Thank you so much! 🤗❤️ And, well, I've been reading books for years, and one of the joys of adaptations is that they can take familiar universes and characters and bring them into different directions, and/or adapt them to explore related themes, expand on the source material, etc. It's like officially licensed fanfiction at times, in a sense.
It didn't! 😉 (End between them, that is.) For now, Jaskier is heading towards Nilfgaard with Geralt and Milva to go rescue Ciri. And Radovid has just been crowned King in the (immediate) wake of his brother's murder. But, before Jaskier left, there was a sense that he was willing to allow Radovid to regain his trust, after Radovid attempted to go see Ciri to ask her to come to Redania without having received Jaskier's permission to do so. Because yeah... There's no way that a Prince whose big "masterplan" was to show up at the cottage seemingly unarmed, alone without any of his guards, and to simply knock on the freaking door would have been intent on kidnapping Ciri. Nevermind Jaskier probably being able to knock him out with his lute if he'd tried to take her by force, she's a powerful magical being that's been trained by Witchers. So, I'm thinking that Jaskier must have been feeling pretty overprotective of Ciri, and still seen her as a "young innocent child" at times, for him to immediately come to the conclusion that Radovid could ever have attempted to kidnap her. Ciri is much more likely to be able to protect Jaskier if it ever came down to a fight, than the other way around, actually. I'm pretty sure that Yennefer asked Jaskier to look after her for his own safety, first and foremost, and to avoid having *him* being tempted to attempt to sneak into the big event they were going to. And/or in the hopes that, should anything happen, Jaskier would be able to escape capture and come warn them. So, my guess is that Radovid only wished to plead with Ciri to come to Redania so that all the madness would finally stop; and/or at the very least be able to tell Dijkstra that his attempt to convince her to follow him failed (to make it look like he was at the very least *trying* to do the spymaster job he was given by his brother). But Jaskier was hurt, and he said some really hurtful things to Radovid in return; but last they were seen together they seemed both willing to work on that, and still give what they feel for each other a chance.

This video is something amazing. Also thank you for the caption, I wish that more people in the fandom had this vision of the tv series❤

How did things end between Jask and Radovid?
It didn't! 😉
