Great! It looks to me that it would move better with a rubber material than the plastic one; there would be more friction and thus it wouldn't slip; what do you think?
wow!!! its unbelievable... first of all i congratulate the designer of this robot & i request, may i please have all the design and construction details of this snake robot
That is unbelievable. It's amazing to see how far weve come with robtics and remote controls devices. I mean, where can the circuitry even be in this thing? There are servos in every joint. Cool.
for going up stairs or verical objects can you make a program that calculates how high the distance is to travle and have the snake move all its peices at once instead of stoping between moves?
For those who want to know more: The robot is called 'M-TRAN III'. The website about it is here: unit.aist.go.jp/is/frrg/dsysd/mtran3/what.htm the website has a bunch of videos as well. Thumbs up so people can see.
Please.. After the cut at 2:00, the robot keeps running till 3:30 at 4x fast forward. And runs at the rest of the video till 4:25 at 2x fast forward. Which means, battery life would be at least 8 minutes with the data presented in this video.
this thing is freakin badass. i love it. can it change into a dodge viper with a v10 engine? cause if it can i definitely want one. screw it. i want one anyway.
How would this perform on an uneven surface? I suspect certain 'uncoupling' moves would mean it wouldn't be able to join back together. Excellent mechanism though!! Is it performing a pre-programmed routine?
We all know nature is very smart, humans are tryin' to copy it's greatness but it's okay because a very well design of a movile robot based on nature's creations could be used for space missions or something like that. P.S.: I'm learning english, if a commit a mistake, make me know it.
Yep, modular robotics. A robot that can reassemble itself to accomplish different tasks. they can also split into pieces and have the pieces work as individual robots/snakes.
Amazing that it can reconfigure itself. Translation movement software needs to be redone, it's very inefficient. I believe with better algorithms and programming it could be much faster and save a lot of energy. I have some ideas to do that.

this is by far one of the coolest robot design ive ever seen
Is it just me lr was the head and tail of the "snake" hilarious when it was climbing the wall?! I laughed so hard!
True soo true
wow!!! its unbelievable... first of all i congratulate the designer of this robot & i request, may i please have all the design and construction details of this snake robot
that is the most amazing no wheel robot I have ever come across!!
With this we're gonna have fully functional transformers in no time
who care how it moves, that is amazing. Not only in execution but in it's creation. Brilliant work!
Not sure how i got here from machinists work but im very impressed sir well done
At the end it stands up as if to say; "And for my next trick, I will walk 5 ft..... give me 12 minutes." LOL I do like it thought! :)
I'm speechless. Whoever designed this is a genius. Now they're coming... LOL
awesome. i love the plot twist at the end

The screwing sounds are almost cute :)
Have you ever dreamed about the screams of the damned in the deepest abyss of hell? Well, me neither, but i'm pretty sure it sounds like this.

These could make amazing technology in the hands of an adept visionary/programmer, and with a few adjustments like a ball joint instead of a hinge.

how is that robot powered?? does each cell has its own powersource or does it link the power via the magnets? great job!
Just got recommended this, haven't seen it for 13 years. Long time no see noisy danger noodle.
Please..

impressive i like the transformation and it can perform multiple locomotions
what a awesome design!,could you tell me where can i get more information about this?
This is amazing Ai!!! Does anybody know WHO these guys are? What university or company is working on this thing? I'd like to contact them!
wow!!!! when is the kit available for purchase?
Wow, that's the coolest thing Ive seen all this week.
what amazing every unit is a separate robot and communicates by CAN bus !
Once this becomes a pocket size toy I'm getting one no doubt
this thing is freakin badass. i love it. can it change into a dodge viper with a v10 engine? cause if it can i definitely want one. screw it. i want one anyway.
I just recently got into robotics and stuff and i was wondering how was this made? How and where can I learn to make this?
Not necessarily create, but we could alter species to fit the environment, and if that doesn't work, the beauty of evolution will help.
... я бы не стал такого держать у себя в комнате на полке - вдруг через месяц-два поумнеет и решит показать кто в доме хозяин :)
how are these cubes connected, so you can transform it that quickly?
someone was definitely thinking outside the box when they came up with this one
That twist at the end! 0_0

Tengo una pequeña duda como lo hago? Espero tu respuesta. si puedes mañana mejor entre las 10 am porque mas tarde voy al cine. gracias
Omg, I couldn't stop laughing at 2:11, the head is all like "COME ON! MOVE IT MOVE IT MOVE IT!!!!" -bang bang bang bang bang- LMFAO xD
When it stood up at the end I was like, "Shit just got real"
In a word, INCREDIBLE!!!
This is nice and somewhat relaxing to watch. Good post.
Relaxing?
dudee.. can you tell me how you made it... and what motors you used..!!

Pretty awesome if you know how difficult it is to do something like this.
Keep up the good work!
@TheXRealXBrapp does it even have a battery?
sorprendente el acoplamiento y desacoplamiento de las piezas
This is truly innovating. I wonder if they are allowed to evolve the new possibilities
the year is 20XX must be some Dr willy's creation.
'I wonder what's making all that noise in the air vents...'
and another step towards the welcoming of our new robot overlords has been accomplished!
Mhm... but, I was considering the fastforwards part, that had to be atleast four minutes long in itself XD
Wow, incredible. So how does it manage to change shape by connecting and disconnecting each piece?
I'm guessing there is either little screws that connect them or there could be electromagnets that activate when each piece touches another.
Magnets of course.... screws pssh.
so this is the first step of a transfromer evolution? :D
Cool ;) what kind of controller? is it teleoperated or kind of autonomous?
it looks like every module is its own robot
Yep, modular robotics. A robot that can reassemble itself to accomplish different tasks. they can also split into pieces and have the pieces work as individual robots/snakes.
Wonder how difficult it is to program this!
SOPM2007 I'm guessing very.
Is this the first Transformers movie?
Now, build millions of these with size each just 1mm.
+Len P Discount transformium?
AWESOME!!!!!
how agrees with this?
*who
that thing is so cool!!!
if it had AI it would also be scary!!
(learns to handle a gun! or a.. ehh.. something!)
What manner of wizardry is this?
1:40 This is what it will sound like when it chases you.
where did you get it!?
You made it.. that is amazing.
I like want to know how its done! its so awesome!
4:18
'Oh I'm not just a snake, I'll also eat your soul'
Is this robot real ? Who invented it ?
I dont know why but this made me laugh
What is source of power for that?D:
Great !!!! How did you make it?? What kind of mechanism you used ??? plz give some info >..>
where you bought it?
Man is now like God. What will be in 50-70 years?
what the fuck that bit at the end was insane. Amazing piece of pprogramming
LOL y is it banging its head while climbing up???
this is breath taking!
I have those living in my basement.🐛🐛
Video length: 4 minutes, longer if you count the fastforward
Respect to : Human mind , Science .
That's not a snake bot that's a jigsaw-bot
Where can get one or build one. thanks
what the hell,,where did you got that
I don't remember taking any drugs this morning
Except for trhe very subtle sounds of : WHIIIIIIIIIR. WRIIIII, CREEEAAAK. WHIIIRTL*click
LOL, I almost woke up my parents from laughing late at night xD
Think he can rebel against us?
Well I was just exaggerating the fact that it would eat up a lot of power. I wasn't basing my comment on the time of the cuts and fast forwards.
The grand-grand-grand-grandfather of T1000.
Now imagine this thing has thickness of a human hair. T1000 anybody
increíble metamorfosis rebotica con funcionalidad 100%
programming it must have been hard for that thing
Amazing that it can reconfigure itself. Translation movement software needs to be redone, it's very inefficient. I believe with better algorithms and programming it could be much faster and save a lot of energy. I have some ideas to do that.
cool! I love the ending
transformers in real life:DD
2:10 the robot is madly crazy because he cant pass
i literally couldnt breathe for like 6 seconds XD
this is really impressing !
how much for 1?
that..is....FUDGEING AWESOME!
Put it next to a ruler or a person so I can get an idea of how big it is
Very cool robot!!!
It says "Snake robot", not "Sneak robot".
awesome.. simple but present.
wtf is "simple" about that 😂
