Great! It looks to me that it would move better with a rubber material than the plastic one; there would be more friction and thus it wouldn't slip; what do you think?

That is unbelievable. It's amazing to see how far weve come with robtics and remote controls devices. I mean, where can the circuitry even be in this thing? There are servos in every joint. Cool.

for going up stairs or verical objects can you make a program that calculates how high the distance is to travle and have the snake move all its peices at once instead of stoping between moves?

These could make amazing technology in the hands of an adept visionary/programmer, and with a few adjustments like a ball joint instead of a hinge.

For those who want to know more: The robot is called 'M-TRAN III'. The website about it is here:
unit.aist.go.jp/is/frrg/dsysd/mtran3/what.htm the website has a bunch of videos as well.
Thumbs up so people can see.

    Please..
After the cut at 2:00, the robot keeps running till 3:30 at 4x fast forward. And runs at the rest of the video till 4:25 at 2x fast forward.
Which means, battery life would be at least 8 minutes with the data presented in this video.

How would this perform on an uneven surface? I suspect certain 'uncoupling' moves would mean it wouldn't be able to join back together. Excellent mechanism though!! Is it performing a pre-programmed routine?

We all know nature is very smart, humans are tryin' to copy it's greatness but it's okay because a very well design of a movile robot based on nature's creations could be used for space missions or something like that.
P.S.: I'm learning english, if a commit a mistake, make me know it.

    • @lostkeys8496

Amazing that it can reconfigure itself. Translation movement software needs to be redone, it's very inefficient. I believe with better algorithms and programming it could be much faster and save a lot of energy. I have some ideas to do that.
