Wow! 30 years later, I'm just realizing they're all ganging up on Mikey blindfolded and he's holding his own! In the 2003 series, they said Mikey had the potential of being the best fighter, but his lack of focus kept him from his full potential.
Whoa. I also just notice this for the first time only after reading your comment. I've literally seen this movie over 50 times at minimum like how some young kids watch Disney movies.
This was obviously only one portion of a much larger fight we never got to see involving all 4 turtles in a very serious training session as you can watch Leo go after Raph immediately following the beginning of the scene.
PiZZ∆ !!!!!
@@darksimx4020 yes sir, its in the screenplay, theres actually 2 sequences, theres one in the barn at night which is where they nod in agreement that theyve discovered the new way before they go back.
The reason being coz mikey had been training alone in the barn intensely on the edge so he was already primed
I can't tell you how many times I reenacted this scene with my friends growing up!
I don’t blame you lol
How many went home crying ? Lol usually it was this kid chase for us lol

We need a 4K re-release with an extended cut, or at least the extras included!
And we need the Pizza Hut commercial as one of those extras.
Paramount+ has all the old school and new movies
If you think about it, you could tell Mikey was suffering the most out of the 4. Once they escaped from the burning building to the farm, Mikey never said a word nor cracked a joke. He was way more focused as well as angry due to not only losing Splitter, but from Raph nearly dying. Once he finds out that Splitter’s alive and hears his voice again during the campfire scene, he was finally able to let out all that built up pain and sadness that he was carrying inside him. A truly touching scene 🧡
Yep, a deleted subplot focused more on Mikey at the farmhouse. Hopefully it still exists somewhere so we can finally see it.
If you think to yourself how many times have all four turtles seriously trained together on film with no goofing around bs and shown off some of their potential and then you realize that not only was this scene fairly magical but also should have been AT LEAST four or five times as long as it is.
There was actually a much larger vision for this movie, involving a citywide "infestation" of Foot Clan, not just a few petty thieves. The opening sequence of robberies was supposed to be much more elaborate, showing the audience a much more powerful and wide-reaching "Shredder" than the one we were presented. But, due to budget limitations, we only saw a small portion of the Shredder's NYC operations. Can only imagine what more would have been included into this masterpiece, had it been "fully budgeted"!
@@danimart3374 100% its all in the screenplay, the amount of magic that couldve been on top of what we already have. I wish they would reshoot those scenes and reinstate them
Hmm, with all the info about the deleted scenes of Mikey training this scene really makes more sense. They are all ganging up on him and he's holding his own.
I've heard they existed. There's also supposed to be a scene of him in the garage training alone. And it's Mikey standing on top of the farm house with his arms in the air, but in the movie they dubbed Raph's voice yelling, "Splin-ter!"
Mikey is apparently to most naturally gifted, which is why splinter gave him the most difficult to master weapon is the group. He just doesn't always apply himself goofs around a lot.
Big Fax. You stole the words out my mouth
He's the Battle Nexus Champion!
I feel like people dont give Mikey enough credit when it comes to his fighting skill. He could very easily be the most skilled turtle if he didn't goof around so much in my opinion
Donatello is never appreciated enough
Donnie's lowkey the funniest one out of the four in this movie lol
@@LilJay03 Don's reaction when he first heard The Shredder's name for the first time, priceless.
I didn’t appreciate Donny till I got older 😢
Man the way Mikey thwarted the first blow from Donny and put his ear to the ground blindfolded is badass! THE LAST RONIN
All that time Mikey spent in the barn pissed off really shows here in the training when he's actually giving his brothers that work.....wish they didn't delete that scene of Mikey training like a demon
Seriously!! He was the most skilled turtle in comics why tf would they put casey in the montage Lmao
@@royal1643it's been said in alot of the tmnt mythology that Mikey has the potential to be the best out all 4 but never applied it....I think Lei kind of knew when he trained Mikey to win the battle nexus
I'm happy I actually got to see this in the movies as a kid when It came out
Same
Lucky
I was months old when secret of the ooze was in theaters lol. Had both on vhs though when I was 5.
Leo and Raph were the only ones we saw get a hit in on the Shredder. Raph gets in a kick to his ribs after his aerial kick, and Leo gets him with the katana. Then, in a brilliant scene of role reversal and transcendence, we see Leo actually go the route of Raph and lose his cool when he attacks Shredder in rage and gets easily overtaken...then the decision to throw their weapons away was left to Raph, as Donnie and Mikey were looking at him for the go ahead, then Raph swallows his rage and makes the rational move to listen to the order. Gotta love that fight...post it!
We don't see it but we do hear Mikey last the longest in the initial 1 on 1 fights against shredder, though we don't even get to hear Donny have a go at him.
I wouldn't say it was the rational move but the one where he showed his vulnerability, he was reckless when it came to his own safety but terrified about the safety of his brothers
His recklessness also lead to Splinters capture and he carried that weight the whole film. Watch the final scene. Leo, Don, and Mikey are celebrating their victory. Raphael is seen hugging Splinter. This movie is so much deeper than most realize.
We don't see any of don or mikey's attempts, and we hear Mikey go one on one with him for longer than anyone shown or heard.
I think Shredder got a clean block on that Raph kick, but to each their own. Raph earlier knocked out 3 foot soldiers with a similar kick so it would have did some damage to Shredder. Leo was the only one who got a clear hit on shredder because he was clearly in pain afterwards.
The funny thing is I actually searched for this scene weeks ago and nobody posted it!! Leave it to this channel to. The turtles are 4 once again!!!! 💪💪💪💪
Not gonna lie, one of my favorite scenes and music of the movie!
That's why you don't ever dismiss the fun loving guy. After he thought Splinter died he was the first to cry and his sadness manifested into tho the warrior he is within
So there was a scrapped subplot of Mikey reacting the wrong way to Splinter’s disappearance. He became isolated and angry. He becomes completely focused on his training. This is why you see him pounding on the makeshift punching bag and it is him at the roof yelling Splinter!! Even though they dubbed Raph’s voice, you can see nunchuck’s.
Mikey had a missing sketch from April’s journal as well. This scene here was likely spliced from two team trainng scenes. One was likely Raph focused. The other is Mikey fighting blindfolded which you can see on some shots here.
May 23rd here we come!! Lead the way toots...babe?... AH Princess!!
It took me a little while to realize it but I feel like after their first confrontation they knew the Foot could defeat them by separating them and overwhelming them with numbers.
So it makes so much sense that they're training 1v3 and later when they fight the Foot again on the street and on the rooftop they stick close to each other.
I really wish I could’ve seen the reaction of everyone when this seen happened. I can imagine how crazy it was just the thought of everyone thinking that Ralph is gone or could die then he wakes up and we see the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reunited as one fighting machine. Just beautiful.
Mikey fighting all 3 of his brothers blindfolded is insane.
Seems like michaelangelo was kicking some ass in this scene🎬
He is. It's awesome
I'll be damned if this isn't among the greatest 30 seconds that has ever taken place in any movie ever.
Awesome, thanks! Any chance you all could post the scene where Donatello and Casey Jones are fixing up the car and trading insults, please?
I liked mutant mayhem. But THIS is what it was missing. The fact that they’re supposed to be NINJAS.
Funny how I had no idea they all moved their masks over to blindfold themselves during this scene until I read the novelization.
Novelization? Do you mean the comic adaptation?
@@Luka1180 No. I mean novelization. There was an actual book adaptation. It used to happen to a lot of movies back when I was in school.
@@Luka1180 Just googled. Apparently it was written by someone named B.B. Hiller.
Its time to go back " Leo ..(Cue epic music for 10nseconds)
Am I the only one who noticed Donatello’s hat in the very first second lmfao
Love the music choice in this movie. Brings back memories
Dope moves. Actually, April and Casey going toe to toe at the farm house is the one of the best fight scenes in the movie ;)
It's funny how much the music is so ingrained into me that I could hear it in my head while I didn't realize that my sound was off.
Reminds me of sparring with my friends and cousins.
As a 39 yr old fan! I was wondered why they ganged up on Mikey but I understand now. The loss of splinter and the potential loss of Raph woke the warrior in him. He was the who lasted the longest against shredder
If you look closely Michaelangelo has turned his bandana sideways so he would be practiceing blind. I read that leonardo had done this in the book based on the movie. Soo cool that its my favorite turtle in the movie!!😁
Leo is blind here as well. That's how they were training. It's hard to see in the video, but you should be able to tell on the very first frame.
so cool. Hope Ernie will be there. I remember him from way back when he was kid, with Chuck Norris in Sidekicks. I have watched him many years. Cool dude. May 23rd. Be there.
That wasn't Ernie Reyes, Jr. in Sidekicks, it was Johnathan Brandes
@@jeffwillits1694 uhm, Johnathan Brandes may have also been in sidekicks, i dont remember. I remember, Ernie, lol. Sidekicks (TV Series) 1986-1987

@@jeffwillits1694 pretty cool, lol, we are both right. wp
I got to say that was really cool.!
Now that’s what I call a ninja trying in live action.
I WANT THE FULL TRAINING SCENE CUT!!!
Rooftop fight and the bathtub scene
Mikey kicks ass in the sparring session.
Enough said Mickey held off his brother's blind folded. I guess he traing all this time in the barn paid off. And with the hardest weapon to master in combat
He lasted the longest in the first half of the Shredder fight
Exactly.
@@jonathanmcknight2453 Just too bad they didn't really show that. We only heard his shouts :( Maybe there is a deleted portion, who knows?
Raph has always been my favorite. Especially in this movie.
Mickey was destined to be the last ronin
Mikey giving everyone the biz!!!!!! The youngest and my fave!!!!
I had this movie on vhs back then.. I kinda damaged the tape rewinding this scene over and over... absolutely one of the badass scenes in the movie
After watching a video about deleted scenes, this training montage makes a lot more sense. This was supposed to take place after the vision of splinter in the woods. Leo training his brothers to fight blindfolded, to use their senses. It would've been two or three sessions. Raphael, of course, would've been slow on the uptake. They should've kept those scenes in the film. And when all finally mastered this technique, that was when they announced that it was time to go back to New York.
Good workout motivation!
We Didn't Have Covid-19 Back Then In 1990
The cool part is them training Michaelangelo to up his fighting experience
I wish they would make a ninja turtle movie as dark as the Batman movies for the people in between 30s and 40s
Nah doesn't need to be that dark. This movie was perfectly toned imo
😢Can't tell you how many times I re-watch these movies
Bruh I never knew Micky was blinded, but just now.
I’m the turtles number one fan
Mickey the youngest but most skilled the 3 got whipped
My favorite ❤️💕😍❤️
Call April O'Neil in on this case, and you'd better hurry up there's no time to waste!
May 23rd is my birthday lol.
280 likes and 0 dislikes! LETS KEEP THE ORIGINAL HEROES OF THE 1990s! ALIVE!
I wanna use that music when I work out
The last Ronin was such a closure for us kids from the 80s.
30 Fucking years ago....Jeez
The Turtles are doing major serious training.
Does any one notice how Mickey was fighting all three of them at one point.
Anybody know the name of that music?
Bossa Nova!!!!
Mikey defeating all three of his brothers at once. No wonder he was the last one standing.
Fire motivational Beats right there
Can anyone tell me what track this is on the soundtrack?
I missed it! Is there anyway or anywhere one can see the Celebratory Pizza Party?
This is my opinion on why Mikey is the last Ronin this scene here
Cowabunga dude!
What track on the soundtrack is playing? 🙏🏾
Does anyone know the name of the song in this training clip?
What's the name of the Soundtrack to this!?!
What is the name of that beat
What’s the name of this soundtrack?
Mikey the nicest!
Shredder vs. the Turtles.
Raphael is my favorite!!
What’s the song? ❤
What is the name of the song?
What happened to the main video? Why was it taken down?
Can anyone PLEASE direct me to footage anywhere of the cut scene from the theatrical release where the turtles fight Leonardo blindfolded? I've been angry for most of life that this, one of the greatest scenes in the film, never made home video! Please like/comment if you at least remember it from the theatrical release.
I still have my poster of Donatello in the straw hat!
Its funny cause if you look closely Michaelangelo has turned his bandana to the side so he would be blinded which is what was said about leonardo in the book
Turtle randori
Not the same without that fuzz, dark, vhs quality. Pizza hut commercial and all.
Why would you want that? It messes up the scene
These kids don't know!
