@@ethanfarrell313 ive heard many bad reviews on savage gear rods about them breaking id stick to their lures but i do recommend star rods and the st croix mojo muskie they have these cool purple and black winn grips

Why use such light main line but such a heavy leader
Tarpon can fray the line very easily that’s why 30-40lb leader is ideal now as for the 8lb braid it’s basically what I can fit on a 1k size reel without giving up line capacity

Sometimes it’s fun to use the light tackle but I can agree the bass reel is not something I should use in the mangroves so I picked up a vanford 3000 for some stuff like this and bigger fish

I like to keep tensions when u bow you give slack and the fish can come unpinned if I ever think I need to bow I just lower my rod tip down to the side
