Good afternoon John! You, my friend, are gonna end up costing me a fortune! Lol! I love that Caroline coach, and can definitely see a BR Blue / Grey one in my future! Locomotion also holds a special place in my heart after visiting Beamish open air museum as a child, and riding behind a replica of it! I don't think it squeaked, but it made a some great sounds!!! I still have some of my old OO stock, so could definitely see one of them in my future too! Replacing the insulfrog points was a good idea, even if the frog isn't powered, longer wheelbase locos tend to like them better! Right, I'm off to hide my wallet and hope I don't land on any tempting websites as I've already spent too much this month! :) All the best, Ian.
Lol, cheeky boy! If you choose to get you wont be dissappointed. Locomotion does need some serious running in though. You will also need to oil the mechanism and also the slot in the running boards where the vertical rods move. Some people have reported squeaking from the rods. MINE DOES NOT SQUEAK, Ill have you know, lol. It was the chaldron wagons squeaking, which they probably would do. There! Lol Hoping to replace the points, or some anyway, soon.
Thanks Deano, Im very pleased with the two new models and both seem to run very well. Also thanks for the 'like' on the lighting, its hard to choose for the best. We both know not everyone will like it, so I suppose anything goes really.
Hi John wonderful video as always l think the N gauge coach looks the same if not better than the 00 one which is a surprise N gauge has come on so much. All the best Colin from Mossend.
Evening John - those 4 tracks down the back really look good - even without the ballast etc. The inspection salon is up to Revolution high standards without a doubt. The decision to remove the insulfrogs and replace will pay dividends. Can feel your pain when filming and a loco just stops. Many thanks for dropping into the live stream earlier. Take care. Cheers Euan
Thanks Euan, always enjoy your live streams. We both know what trains can be like as soon as we point a camera at them, hopefully I can replace them quickly.
Yes, I guess there is a lot going on, but a few items have sat waiting a while to build up enough for the video. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Hi John, excellent update, I really like the inspection saloon and lovely detail too. Good idea to replace the Insulfrogs, i know that will improve the running greatly. I always find trains decide to something as soon as you start filming even if you’ve had them running perfectly for ages, crikey who’d build a model railway and film it for RUclips, they must be mad!!!!😂 Cheers John, John
Well exactly John, who would be quite so mad? Lol the things we do ay? Hoping to get the points soon. Depends on work, but that is looking promising. Time will tell.
Revolution do constantly produce quality detailed models. That is why they exist of course but nonetheless meaning to do a thing and actually doing it are two quite different things. Caroline is simply the wrong period for me but it looks a lovely model. That all bodes well for the 1938 stock. A lovely mixture of things this evening John, and you do have plenty going on. If the dear little souls leave you with any energy over the coming weeks it will be good to see progress in future videos. Stephen
Thanks Stephen, life has certainly changed since I could do month's work in a weekend. I guess I couldn't keep up that pace for ever. Hopefully your tube train will meet all your expectations. Rev Trains have produced some lovely models no doubt. Caroline was built in 1969 in blue grey. There were others in LMS livery that Grhm Farish do I think.
Hi John…. Hope you are well. I have just picked up ‘Locomotion’ and like you I think it’s a really nice model. Watching the mechanism doing its thing is just mesmerising. I agree it needs a stay alive. In my opinion, for what it’s worth, Hornby have done a good job on their Era 1 locomotives recently. See you soon matey 🤗 Steve 👍👍👍
John for your new viaduct issue around platform 13/14 as you already have a viaduct! Why don’t you do a similar viaduct a little like castlefield viaducts on the exit from the old GMEX manchester central ???
Hi, thanks do you mean with a track that then goes into the painted backscene? I was thinking of joining it to the viaduct directly after Dinting viduct. Thinking aloud I could model a single disused track with elements of track still there, Dr Beeching style
Hi John, Success I got to the end and must say your trains are running supebly well good luck with the wall alterations and nice to see Locomotion No 1 running I think Hornby should have fitted a stay alive in as standard as she was always going to have problems what do you think? Keep well and take things easy as you can we can all wait. Cheers Robert.
@robertstrainset6556 was literally just about to reply Robert. So sorry the adverts have caused you issues. I don't have any control over that. I know what you mean they can be very annoying. I tend to click off, on, off and I keep doing that till the video starts or restarts A stay-alive in Lcomotion, possibly. This perhaps would have made an already expensive model beyond some people's reach. Tough call. You mentioned Caroline, yes a gorgeous model, highly detailed. I do actually think the DCC fitting was easy, unclip the body and PCB, fit decoder and hey and presto very good friends. The Locomotion DCC fitting was beyond rediculous due to the lack of space to see. Both great models though.
Hi John, I am trying to watch this all through but YT keep putting very long (55sec or so) adds in and I just click off but I will get there but just getting the video from the train show I went to on Sunday edited and up but had trouble with that also never mind. What I have seen of this what can now be modelled in n gauge is unbelivable and the decoder fitting all fitting of these should be this simple. Will come back at some stage keep well and modelling. Cheers Robert.
Hi Alan, I tried them once and it was a disaster sadly. I could probably pick up a small can motor and 3d print a cradle. That should work in theory. Thank you for the suggestion, much appreciated
Pity about the pecket. Such a nice looking loco. You say you have 3 options with it. There is a fourth option. You could sell it and buy another one that works.
Thank you Gerard, yes and I agree a lovely loco. Yes that would be a 4th. I’ll have a think. Don’t really want to fork out lots of money TBH. Thank you for the suggestion
Nice video John. Do like the mini Caroline and agree about locomotion, there is something mesmerising seeing it move. Susannah

Very good and interesting, the old style Loco reminded me of my grand mothers knitting machine but as you say relaxing, All the best John.
lol, yes I can see that. It’s amazing what was going through their minds, that such a mechanism would even work.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hello John
2 very nice models, especially Caroline inspection coach.
I really like the LED lighting it makes a nice effect.
Deano

Totally agree Colin, the N gauge is clearly simplified, but definitely it’s a highly detailed model.

John, very entertaining and interesting. You gave a lot going on as always. Thanks for the video. Regards, Stephen.

I`ll for give this time John on the squeaks. Super update John .
lol, the wagons are nearly 200 years old, hmmm they are… lol bless you, glad you like it.

Steve 👍👍👍
Thanks Steve, I agree. All are great. I would like to get Lion or Tiger to pull the coaches just in case Rocket has to go on a lomac wagon, lol
put the Dalek in a video please, 👍

Please see more recent comment for full reply. Thx
Have you tried Lendons of Cardiff for the motor? Or New Railway Modelers?
