Sally MJ I had learned cello for almost 5 years when I was young. I stopped learning cello because of busy days. I think the cello is very beautiful musical instrument. I love music, so when I become an adult, I will play cello again and other instruments, too! If I hadn't stopped playing, I could play this one now..;(

Poetic very much. Before getting to know Bach, I used to give music just a concept of sounds. However, what I realized is actually music is composed of all poetic elements inside of human. Truly, I can say a musician is not the instrument player. They are talented at touching on the spiritual parts of human very sensitively using the invented instruments.
Partially true; arts are the embodiment of beauty you can find in every element of life (death included), and each discipline should be apreciated by their elements. But what what is the real element on all arts is rhythm, wich is the meassured movement of all things in excistence, not only fine arts. The arts just happen to sense that (poetry, painting, music...).

In our highschool symphony orchestra, at State, we played the version highlighting the Cellos (We had a LARGE cello section, 20+). That night we could have played 3 pieces, but we played Jupiter then Aria, with the Cellos taking the Violin part. We won state that year. First and still (just checked) the only high school in Indiana history to win all 3 Band, Choir and orchestra state finals in the same year. I was part of the group that did it first and its happened a few other times for us :) God I miss playing my cello.

Bach's Air on G string is my one and only favorite instrumental music I want to hear. Quint's performance is close to the original music composed by Bach. The music expresses the intensity of emotion of a person in love for another. It can express the love of God for sinful man who turned away from his creator. The intensity reaches its peak as the music nears its end, and somehow you ask for more.

I think he played it in a more rubato and romantic style than a crisp even Baroque tempo as Bach is normally performed. But he is a world class performer, so he gets to play off the leash of preconceived convention and beautifully he does!!
