    Great video, I’m working my way through your CNC videos as I love to see other folks solutions. I really need to get an air compressor for my air blast system. I was wondering how to hook it up and the adapter you showed was the missing piece of the puzzle. 🖖

    Watching you fit the airline in the roll-chain I thought you had the roll-chain connecter wrong, looking at other videos of this model they are all the same, seems to be a design error. A roll-chain is not supposed to slide, though often called dragchain, its supposed to roll out along the direction of travel, not be dragged along the top of the X rail as it will wear through. The fixed end should be at the post end like you have it but then along the top of the X axis then curl up and back over itself to the moving part, on the 6050 its correct, on almost all the 4030's its not. You have given me some good ideas and food for thought with your mods, thanks for sharing.

      @incubatork I will check the wire loom chain differences on the 6050. So far no visible problems, but not a lot of use yet. Thanks.

      Incorrect design by Sainsmart on all the 4030v1 machines. They altered it on the 4030v2 but attached the chain backwards, the pop open clips are at the back of the chain, they forgot to rotate it correctly.

    I did the exact same thing regarding the plexiglass guards (one piece that extends the length of the edge and bends over the top of the ledge to cover the screw. I don't know why this machine doesn't come with some on their own. It's a simple, yet obvious part.. Maybe this is a marketing opportunity for us small RUclips channels to make these. :)

      @@adventuresinenginerding I’d wager, it’s cause the next tier of machine up in their range comes with them mounted on the outside, along with a bunch of other stuff like proper linear guide rails, a redesigned z axis so only the spindle moves and not the whole assembly, and a much more rigid looking base, and a bunch of other stuff I’m sure I’m missing. That way they can try to incentivise people to buy the more expensive machine that’s actually well designed :P

      @@dylanshandley1246 Their upsell marketing techniques won't work on me! You make good points to understand why these are not production quality machines. Yeah, they could be better, but are pretty decent for the money - even though $1k is not cheap!

    One other thing I did to mine was replace the spindle with a Dewalt 611 hand router. So much better cutting capabilities. The ProverXL comes with the router clamp to swap their pathetic motor out with the Dewalt. The downside is the lack of automated turning on and off the router and the lack of programable spindle speed, but honestly, for me anyway, it was worth replacing the existing spindle.

      That upgrade is on my short list, especially for using bigger bits. I see the same issues. I think the power cable can be modified to be On/Off controlled by the CNC controller, but speed will be manual. There must be a solution. Thanks for watching.       Amazon sells an Iot Relay. Connect the Prover motor output to the switch terminals then plug the 611 into the relay. Presto! Router starts automatically. Check James Dean Designs Prover XL vids.

    I'd get soem concrete or old marble or stone countertop to place the machine on, it will be much harder to start resonance in that and will reduce noise a load while reducing vibration. You can normally get it pretty cheap on secondhand marketplaces from people doing home improvements.

      Interesting. My bench is sturdy & bolted to the wall, but still subject to smaller vibrations. I'll put it on the list.

      @@adventuresinenginerding box in the bottom of your table and fill with sand (if you want to be able to move it) or concrete if it isn't going anywhere. the same technique is used to weigh down washing machines and stop them vibrating across your floor

    After years of using Hass and Bridgeport CNC milling machines, these little toy machines are just a big joke or should I say a little joke.
    But, good luck, it looks like you are having fun.

      True! I wish I had your experience on other machines. These are desktop machines for making small things. With a little patience, they can be of high precision. If I could buy a $50K-$100K industrial machine for my hobby, that would be super cool. But, alas, no room in my garage. Even a Bridgeport is much bigger and 5X the cost even for a used one. A local machine shop charges a $500 setup fee for a part, then a price per part. So I can prototype 2 parts and pay for this machine (DONE!). I can go through multiple iterations for a very small cost. Then I really know what is required to make it manufacturable. From there, if I need production and think there is a market I can go pay to get it done on a HAAS machine. Or I can make one off parts whenever I need for the cost of material. But if you are giving away a Bridgeport, I'll gladly take it off your hands! Thanks for watching.

    Your dust guards will get hit by X carriage unless you adjust limit switches
