This is why the first group will always be my favorite. You guys laid the foundation for generations to come, and established what it meant to go play at Bama
What do you mean by “the first group”? Because technically that would be John Parker Wilson, DJ hall, Matt Cadell, Rashad Johnson, Simeon Castile and Antoine Caldwell. Unfortunately none of those players won a championship but still did a lot to lay the groundwork.
I think coach Saban should hire some of the first guys who’s inactive that was playing under him to go out and recruit because they stuck to the standard. Roll Tide !
Reminds me of my first pledge class at my Military Fraternity in college. The pledge trainer came in, looked around, pronounced that there were "to many of you. Most aren't going to make it anyway. Do push ups until enough of you quit."
The first year was weeding out the lazy guys. The ones that survived as greg said may not be great players but they were never giving up in a fight. The talent would come as Nick started recruiting but the bed rock of his team were freaking fighters, they never gave up. You know the next few yrs the new guys never had easy time as older guys who survived would not allow it. This is how you build a championship program, not a team but a program. Look back from today 2023 and tell me I am wrong 6 titles many wins consistency like no team ever. from 08 to 2023 never won less than 10 games in a year that is NCAA record. 16 yrs 10 wins or more in regular season many 11 or 12 wins but never below 10. No team ever has put 16 yrs in a row to match that in titles in SEC or national. So for any that like to say the few yrs in NFL that saban did not win takes him off the list of the GOAT show me how.
It is a perfect example that demonstrates the sheer absurdity of the common argument you get from haters that goes something like "huURR duRrrR Saban only won cause he got great recruits." Like dude, he took a bunch of Mike Shula recruits to the SEC Championship game in his second year, then went undefeated and won a national title the very next. You really don't need many more examples to see that Saban was heads and shoulders above the rest of college football in so much more than recruiting.
Easier ain’t better. They just play different now. I’m too old school I hate the bend but no break mentality. No go break their will just like it used to be done
I will never ever forget my 2007-2023 Crimson Tide teams. Legendary games and players. But now I don’t care who our coach is we gonna win.
Facts! Roll Tide!

(36 )110s. Ouch..
That sounds like what Deion did at Colorado his first year with the mat drills. He was literally trying to weed out the weak ones.
Tho$e day$ are ovah. They’ll leave.
The wary underwear theoretically offer because yam compellingly share aside a oafish pan. little, uneven cd
Most Bama fans despise McElroy. He's basically the Craig James of Alabama minus the obnoxious offspring.
