The AIM-9L is scary for the person using it, it either goes for team mates or doesn't pull.
facts, same result with aim9m. hit 1 enemy and 2 teammates in the first 3 matches with the f-16c

They really should put the iconic growling and lock noise for Aim-9s
There’s us but after a certain update they were made much quieter. You basically only hear then in the cockpit

@@SkywalkerWroc SPAA version of the D variant used by the Chaparal. IRL it only had a single kill, and in game its kinda unreliable.
I love it when even Gaijin themselves forget about the AIM-9L/I-1.
This missile is currently only found on the DE Eurofighter.
agreed, a lot of reviewers keep saying it only gets the normal AIM-9L/I instead of the 9L/I-1. its literally a AIM-9M but German

@ R-60s generally have lacking range for me, and the 9Ls are usually on strikers that won’t get great launch parameters under most conditions. Both are good, but the 9D is on the right plane at the right time.

The Swedish RB24J missile is actually based on the Aim-9P3 rather than the Aim-9J :)

you nerfed the 9L so much that it's basically a longer range R60M
just like th magic and any other non irccm missiles. With faster spool time comes faster countermeasures acquisition. Gaijin just fucked up big time to "balance" the game.
AIM-9X, the latest generation of Sidewinder missiles. It is capable of locking on target through the Helmet Mounted Display system, and the maneuverability of the missile had been greatly increased that the pilot can lock and shoot the missile in any angles.
Yes. The 9X in WT should behave like the R73, without smoke and with more range normally.
Here's a fun fact: the AIM-9X can be shot at an aircraft behind you. They truly mean it can engage targets at all angles. Russia claims the latest R73 missiles can do the same, and France claims they have missiles that can do it - but these haven't been demonstrated.

not just the aim-9x thats locks targets with hmd, aim-9l and aim-9h does it too, they´re radar slabable!
9X isn't just a single missile either. It underwent numerous modernizations and sub-variants (even within a single block). AIM-9X of 2003 is a very different missile to AIM-9X of 2023.
I loved when the official War Thunder Sidewinder video had an after-credits scene where they teased the AIM9X and its eventual adding to War Thunder

You know it'll make everybody a lot easier to understand missiles and what their capabilities are if you keep doing videos like this I feel like it would actually help the community does a missile stack card does give you some planned information but on some missiles they have the same exact stats but they act like two different missiles

The AIM-9B was also standardized IIRC, both the USN and USAF used them, then branched off until the AIM-9L. Otherwise, great video as usual by the basement people!
RB74(M) first its based on the german missiles and second that variation was not ever purchased by sweden, it should be smoky motor 9L/i

I love that people ask "AIM-9X when?" while that thing would be OP at 17.0. I personally think that the AIM-9M is a bit weak but the AIM-9X is out of the question, but the AIM-9R would fit the game.
EDIT: you guys think that the AIM-9X is on par with the R-73? The AIM-9X can pull 60g, it has a much longer range, it has a 360° lock angle and it doesn't care about: flares, the sun, clouds nor terrain.
the aim-9x would be anything op if things like the irist and mica ir were introduced (as they should have with the 4.5 gen aircraft of the update).
You guys forget there’s different blocks of the 9x. The first block is basically just an R-73 with aim-9m tracking. The block 2-3 improved maneuverability. We can have block one right now and it won’t be op compared to magic-2s and R-73

Aim9ms need to be shown in blocks for later variants like the M. We currently have the M-1 in game, which had the shittier seeker that was replaced for well the same problem we get in game

Well we already have the R-73 Archer which is the Soviet version of the AIM-9X, so if anything it would level the playing field.

@@WandenWaffler I'm talking about the variant present in game dude. It doesn't have a thermal imaging seeker. What's the need for aim9x now? The aim9m is more than fine to deal with the r73. As a us main, these cry babies that doesn't know how to use their kit effectively makes the rest of us look bad. It's piss easy to flare the r73 unless it is fired at your ass from like one mile away.
@@conflictclips The R-73 is a Fox-2 type missile (using IR guidance). The AIM-9X has somewhat better G-load performance though as the R-73 can only sustain a max of 40 G's.

I saw a video from I think was like a mod or something of, if the f-35 was in the game with aim-9x missiles....and you wouldnt believe how hard that missile pulled while turning before hitting the target. I'm glad the aim-9x isnt in the game right now.
Then be glad we also don't have IRIS-T (especially later versions), PL-10, ASRAAM (later versions), Python 5, or un-nerfed MICA's (which would be about the same as a block 1 9X).

With how good the Aim-9M is currently I wonder if they will just stick with that when we get to the F-22. It’s already pretty much a guaranteed kill so they wouldn’t even really need the 9X and it would keep the game pretty balanced. Don’t flame me, it’s just a thought.
R73 is more manouverable, but 9M is definetly better IR missile cause of the range, smokeless motor and better IRCCM. When you shoot 9m correctly its 99% for a kill if enemy doesnt flare it perfectly. USA mains just cry cause they dont flare R73 and die like noobs.

0:43 false the missile is within most definitely a guarantee that your in envelope if your are co speed and are pulling less then 2-3Gs to track the target with your missile

If the missile has a jamming device so how could we counter it?
The way it works is by temporarily shutting of the seeker and ignoring new imputs for a sexond or two. This reaults in the flare fallong bellow the sightline of the seeker. So the way to stop this is by not being allong the same lath as the missle expects you to be, so flare and manoeuvre. Now ghis is real world theory game is slightly different
