you should try any of the curry recipes by Pick Up Limes! the potato green pea curry and the roasted cauliflower lentil curry are seriously out of this world
RECIPE TESTIMONIAL: I made the Roasted Red Pepper Pesto Pasta last night. It was soooo incredibly delish!! I loved that I was able to incorporate yellow baby zucchini’s (courgettes) from our garden, home grown Basil and garlic, and I could not resist throwing in a few homegrown cherry tomatoes. The toasted walnuts really add unique flavour and texture to this dish. Two thumbs up 👍👍… I highly recommend this dish to any pasta lovers out there. PS - it’s kinda fun roasting the red peppers in a large skillet… it’s one of the few times that food is blistering and turning black while cooking… and that’s totally OK!! PPS - as Immy said… use a large skillet 😂
I so adore watching your cooking videos! Little pro tip from a professional chef, you can place a silpat or a damp cloth under your cutting board, it’ll prevent those little slips and slides while cutting your ingredients, it’ll give you even more control. Excited to be following your culinary journey! ❤️🤗
Great little tip you have given here, thank-you!! I have a huge wooden cutting board but it tends to warp depending on seasonal temps and humidity. The next time my cutting board is a bit wobbly I’m gonna throw a silpat under it. Thanks for the pro chef tip!! Currently here in the PNW (🇨🇦) we are enduring an intense and unprecedented heat wave (daytime temp was 47 degrees yesterday)… it’s hard to think about cooking in these temperatures.
Aw! Yay! I’m glad I was able to help ya out! I’m in Oregon! So I hear you on this crazy weather! Whatever you can do to make cooking a smidge easier is totally worth it! 🤗
I would love for this to be a series! Pick Up Limes is an absolute favorite channel of mine. I also recommend some of these who others have mentioned: Rainbow Plant Life, From My Bowl, Good Eatings and Sweet Potato Soul.
About the oil in the cake: try baking with olive oil! I know it sounds weird but I just love it, it gives a very fruity flavour to the cake. About the sage and the pasta water: I think she toasts the sage to make it more flavorful, not especially crispy. And the pasta water is because it's full of starch, it binds the sauce together and makes it creamier.
I'm quite sensitive to fructose, so red bell pepper is my replacement for anything that has tomatoes (they are much higher in fructose!) and it really works so well. I definitely have to try this pesto, it looks so great :D
This would be such a cool series! Would love to see you try Madeleine’s recipes, and also Ellen Fisher, Avantgarde Vegan, Jess Beautician and Yeung Man Cooking ☺️
I bought Madeleine’s and Sadia’s (pick up limes) e-cookbooks when I first went vegan and I still make the recipes all the time 🥰 I also find their food videos really satisfying to watch. loved this video 🥰
We also bought some pretty sage with the goal of not having to buy it everytime we want to make gnocchi.. since then, we didn't make gnocchi once and this weekend I had to cut it back to around half its size because it grew into the sweet peas :D now we'll hopefully use it as dried herbs and tea
I can very much recommend Pick up Limes Cauliflower-Lentil-Curry if you do another one of these! I usually also only watch the videos and never cook any of the recipes but with this one I was curious and it payed off a lot, I now cook this once a week/every other week :) Also, maybe include SweetPotatoSoul in a video like this, she has many great recipes as well :) Loved your video and would love a series of this!
Anyways, wanted to say I am really enjoying your videos lately. Nice to see you more excited to create content again :) Sending you lots of love and wishing you a great day or night!
Hi Immy! Loved the video 😊 if I could give you one tip is to cook pasta in the biggest pot that you have haha so the pasta can do it’s little dance properly and the starch won’t be so concentrated and the pasta won’t stick together. Sorry for the unsolicited advise 🤪🤪
No apologies necessary - I ALWAYS appreciate tips when it comes to cooking because I clearly still have a lot to learn. Haha I was actually thinking, "oh damn I need a bigger pot" but I was filming and just went with it !!
Hi Immy! it's lovely to see how much you enjoy cooking. I think you should try Gaz Oakley Avant Garde Vegan, he uses lots of veggies and all recipes I've tried are a 10/10. One of my favourites is the Tufu Katsu Curry, the Platain Lasagne is wow, the BBQ watermelon is also a win. Anything, honestly. Have a beautiful day!
Loved the video! A meal that I personally would love to try is Wicked Healthy's BBQ mushroom steak or their Mushroom Shawarma... they both look incredible 🤤
This is a great idea for a series and of course helps you learn to cook at the same time - a win win..! Try Sweet Simple Vegan's recipes... they have a great cooking channel on here if you haven't heard of them and they're such cool and very nice guys with a great sense of humour . They also have a blog if you prefer to get content in that form..Absolutely adore Sadia at Pick Up Limes but she doesn't get enough love and attention.. Great to see you giving her a shout out. Also re using the whole ingredient etc I just read an advance copy of a Vegan food waste saving cookbook that was fantastic. If you like I will send you the details...x PS with you on the Oyster Mushrooms but cannot find them anywhere in my local stores and supermarkets even though I live in London
I think the plantain can be replaced by a banana. Love PUL too! been using her blog for measurements to adjust number of servings. it's so user friendly. :-)
Thank you for this video I really enjoyed it. Always good to get some new recipes that are also simple. I will be giving these a try for sure. I recommend the happy pear, they do good simple delicious recipes too.
I'm veggie but I'd like to be more plant based so I often make Sadia's recipes! Slowly getting my mother eating vegan meals with them without realising 😂 Our newest favourite is her Spanish Paella 💕 Would also recommend The Happy Pear and Max Le Mana (who is also zero waste!) 😊
Hey Immy… your delish summer meals are just like you… colourful, light, vibrant, and wholesome… AND this uh-mazing food is like your videos, I want more!! I’m all in for more vidz like this one cuz summer cooking is such a lovely adventure 🌿💜🫑 Thank-you so much for this vid today… I’m stoked to try out these recipes now that we are not melting in the West Coast heat wave anymore 🔥🇨🇦🌞
You made me very nervous when you were holding the jerk seasoning over the pan! You might want to try measuring it so one, you don’t end up dumping in half the tin, and two, it tends to get clumpy from the steam. Well done ! Rainbowplantlife have a great recipe for red lentil curry.
As a fellow watcher of cooking videos with little actual cooking of their recipes happening, I loved this!! The tacos made me really want to make some mushrooms... I would love to see more!
I LOVE your cooking videos. This was a nice format too. “Are those recipes actually easy and flavorful” is what I wonder when I watch those channels too.
Yes please, do more of these! (I am so excited I am rhyming, see?) I genuinely love such types of videos and your take on this concept was just amazing! I love the setup, the shots and the taste test part! My recommendation of future recipe developers to test are: avantgardevegan (obviously), The Edgy Veg, Caitlin Shoemaker, Sweet Simple Vegan and two channels you might not know but I absolutely adore: Yeung Man Cooking and Make It Dairy Free :D A lot to choose from, no doubt!
If you want to learn more about how flavours go together, Samin Nosrat's "Salt, Falt, Acid, Heat" has the wonderful wheel of flavours, and how to combine them. As a chef I can say that is a masterpiece on how to cook and prepare everything. Also a series on Netflix, which is really cool, but doesn't go that deep on to the combining flavours thing
Those tacos looked so amazing just that I have a problem with the texture of mushrooms, I think if i chop them up small and mix them with stuff i could do it :)
I was under the impression that you should peel squash seeds before eat them (at least here in Russia we peel them) but beside that all the recipies look delicious 😻 I'll definitely try to cook bell pepper pasta)))
I really enjoyed this video and would love a series on it, actually found it v useful to see that the recipes are easy to follow etc (also one for watching many food videos and not making much!). For a challenge, maybe give Rainbow Plant Life's three hour holiday meal a go - could be a great series finale or something!
I liked this a lot. Its great to see how easy some recipes are to actually make when they're not being done by the creator. You should try some recipes from rainbow plant life
PUL is one of my favorites. Maybe you can try a recipe or more from Avantgarde Vegan? And I have a question, I really love your apron (if that’s the right name for that thing that saves your clothes from getting dirty 🙈). Can you tell me where I can buy one or how to make one?
Hi there, maybe I can help answer your question… the style of apron that Immy is wearing is called a “Cross Back Apron”. It has no apron strings as it slips on over the shoulders, and it nicely covers the entire front of the body. It is a retro style of apron that is really making a comeback these days. I am a high school sewing teacher and we make aprons for a Mother’s Day gift in my classes. This style of apron is a popular choice because it is easy to sew and very practical. You should be able to find a pattern for a “Cross Back Apron” at your local sewing store or online. If you are not a sewist, you can find “Cross Back Aprons” for sale in online shops such as Etsy. I hope this was helpful info and I hope you are having a great day 😃🧵🪡.
This is such a great video idea! I have made the roasted pepper pesto pasta (say that three times fast) before and I love it. The tacos look delicious, do the mushrooms taste mushroom-y at all? I am not a fan of mushrooms but it looks so good!

Ditto! I love learning about new creators
I'd love for you to try recipes from 'from my bowl', 'cheap lazy vegan', 'good eatings' and 'mina rome' 💃🏻
Love this as a series! I'd love to see Avant Garde Vegan. Gaz' recipes look so good but sometimes a bit too much work for me. Haha
Love Pick up Limes!
This was fun to watch! Try Rainbow Plant Life - she’s one of my favs 💕
A collab with you and Sadia eating delicious food in the NL would be the most soothing food video ever! 🌷
Gosh imagine
Ohhh Jenni… that’s one heck of an idea you have there!! That would be out of this world awesome!!
Can you imagine? One creator giving the Sustainability angle and the other the nutritional angle. Please think about it @Sustainably Vegan
you should try any of the curry recipes by Pick Up Limes! the potato green pea curry and the roasted cauliflower lentil curry are seriously out of this world
You can roast the peppers in the oven, do it ahead of time, lot less mess and less labor intensive.
I've really enjoy Avant-garde vegan's recipes! Would love to see a video featuring his recipes.

7:02 That is essentially my life: I watch a lot of recipe videos and pretty much never try them out ;P
About the oil in the cake: try baking with olive oil! I know it sounds weird but I just love it, it gives a very fruity flavour to the cake.

I highly recommend Pickup Limes pad thai recipe. It's a bit involved and takes a while to prep, but it's wroth it. Her mug cakes are amazing.
I love pickup limes! I suggest you to make a video for one RUclipsr only at time. I enjoy this video. Thanks for that! 😊
I'm quite sensitive to fructose, so red bell pepper is my replacement for anything that has tomatoes (they are much higher in fructose!) and it really works so well. I definitely have to try this pesto, it looks so great :D
Oh I love watching Pick Up Limes but I have not ever made anything of hers. I really enjoyed this video thanks for sharing.
This would be such a cool series! Would love to see you try Madeleine’s recipes, and also Ellen Fisher, Avantgarde Vegan, Jess Beautician and Yeung Man Cooking ☺️
Love this! Pick Up Limes is so good. You could try Caitlin Shoemaker's recipes.
I adore Sadia/PUL so it was great to see someone else making her recipes. xxx
make this a proper series!!! it was very fun!
Ah thanks for watching Arii ! So glad you liked it ❤️❤️
I bought Madeleine’s and Sadia’s (pick up limes) e-cookbooks when I first went vegan and I still make the recipes all the time 🥰 I also find their food videos really satisfying to watch. loved this video 🥰
When I saw the thumb I thought it was a pick up limes video hahah
Ah maybe I should change it haha make it clearer that it isn't!!
@@SustainablyVegan Hahah It could be just me, idk. Sadia's face is really easy to recognize :)
@@SustainablyVegan Ps: also, AvantgardeVegan has amazing recipes to try :D

I liked seeing recipes from different people in one video - I'd vote for one recipe from each but multiple people.
I would love to see this as a series! Sweet Potato Soul has a ton of fun recipes!
Great recipes. Ellen fisher and Madelein Olivia. So many great vegan RUclipsrs the list is endless....
Pick up limes is one of my all time favorites! Try the chocolate mug cake. It's so delicious.
Anyways, wanted to say I am really enjoying your videos lately. Nice to see you more excited to create content again :)
Sending you lots of love and wishing you a great day or night!
Thank you so much 🥰
I watched pick up limes make the recipes, I now watch you make the recipe and I still will probably procrastinate and not make the recipe..😂
This was fun to watch. I would love this to be a series.

And totally not surprised you went back for more tacos 🤣
I freeze my spicy peppers and that substantially lowers the burning of my hands :)
This was so much fun to watch -- loved this, and would love a series.
Those baby zucchini are SO CUTE. I need to try all of these. Crisping up the sage might primarily be to release the aromatics?
